@bills-all-day they are definitely fragile. The pins in the limbs are just little brittle slivers. Get an X-Acto knife, heat the joints, and use the tip to slice through the joint lines.

Neca Sesame Street Bert & Ernie in tiny toons

I'm really curious about these figures. Even though the name says toony, the sculpts look pretty good to me. They seem to match the style of the Palisades figures, although without the puppet texture. Unfortunately, it looks like they are not articulated, which would be disappointing. The description on bbts says they're 6 inches tall but later says 6 inch scale. I'm not sure if that means they'll be 6 inches or 3 to 4 inches to scale with 6 inch figures.

Since NECA has a Sesame Street license, I hope that means they'll soon make articulated figures in a style that matches one of the Muppets lines.

The "toony" lines have minimal articulation, usually cut joints in the shoulders, possibly the hips, and some sort of neck articulation.

The scale is 6", so some are taller than others. For example, the Hocus Pocus sisters are taller than most of the others.

@salemcrow thanks for the info!

I hope NECA has some Sesame Street figures on display at SDCC. I'm guessing Bert and Ernie are the only figures they've started work on and the only ones with a possibility of being at the show. I wonder how the license works, if they are able to make different style figures (hopefully to match a Muppet line). Is it possible for both NECA and Super7 to be able to make more articulated figures? I guess multiple companies make similarly scaled and articulated TMNT figures.

I also hope DST has finished Deadly and Pepe figures and a promo of Sweetums on display at SDCC.

@bills-all-day its possible that both Super7 and NECA can make articulated figures if the license is carved up that way.  It all depends on how granular Sesame Workshop got with it.  If they sliced it up as much as the Ninja Turtle license has been divided anything is possible.

Frankly, if any company is going to make Sesame figures I want it to be NECA or Boss Fight. Based on the fraggles, Boss Fight seems similar to Super7 in style and accessories but at least $15 cheaper. My dream would be to get an Oscar figure that is even close to the Palisades prototype. That figure looked perfect and was soooo close to being made.

@mwoo I'd love Sesame Street figures similar to the ones Palisades planned, especially now that we have Fraggle figures in similar scale and style. It would be amazing to create A Muppet Family Christmas display with matching figures from all three properties. Although, I'm not excited about the prospect of filling out my Palisades Muppets collection. I'm looking at probably a couple grand to get all the Muppets I still want. I don't think there is a way around paying tons for Lips, Zoot, and Rowlf. It would be amazing, though.

In DST Muppets news, Zach mentioned a few updates during his interview on Mr. Alan in the World of Toys YouTube stream a few days ago. He said Pepe and Deadly will likely start shipping at the end of July or early August. He also mentioned that they may announce who will be in their next two-pack at SDCC. I think he said sculpts are done. I hope they are able to make that announcement. My fingers are crossed for Lew and Lips!

@bills-all-day “Deadly Pepe” just has a fun ring to it.  I’d pay for a figure based on that premise.

NECA is making Sesame Street Ultimates figures of Bert, Ernie, and the Count. They look incredible! It seems like the Ultimates will match the Palisades Muppets. The toony Sesame Street figures are smaller than I expected. I wonder if they will fit with the DST Muppets.

I think I saw an Oscar in one video?  These are a dream come true!  If I had seen these before buying two waves of Reaction from Super 7 I would not have wasted my money but then again I may keep them to display with the DST Muppets since that is where they currently live.

Uh yeah, this is blowing my mind. Praying they are scaled to Palisades. I haven’t dug those out in like a decade.

Oscar seems to be part of the less articulation line, I forget what it’s called. Toony Terrors would be the sister line/related style. We already saw B&E from that line. Ultimates so far is B&E and Count.

The ultimate figures might be 2 up prototypes.

@salemcrow Thanks. That may he the case. In a comment on his Instagram post, Veebs said the Ultimates figures look bigger than the Palisades Muppets. He said he'll ask for clarification on final size today. It seems like an odd choice, if they don't scale with either Muppet line.

Has anyone seen any photos or videos from the Diamond Select booth? I'm curious what Sweetums looks like.
