Diamond Select announced Sweetums and a new Robin sculpt will be their next Muppet figures! I think they go up for preorder on May 24.
They also fielded several questions about their Muppets line during their live Q&A on YouTube. DSTChuck said they'd look into reissuing Crazy Harry and the Penguin, since they haven't been included in the 'Best of' reissues. They also mentioned that preorders for Uncle Deadly and Pepe were really low, and they'd need to wait on preorders for Sweetums and Robin before determining whether or not to start work on the next figures. I think Lew and Lips aren't too far down the list, so I really hope preorders on Sweetums are super high starting on day one.
We'll reveal paint pics on Monday. Pre-orders open Friday!
Glad you made it back, @msword.
Also, in Muppets news, Super 7 has pictures of Sesame Street ReAction figures, looks like they are in stock. I’ll probably wait for EE to fill my order, but I’m looking forward to these.
I’m in for next preorder. Bummer about Pepe and Uncle preorders. I’m gonna buy what I can and hope for more. Really want Lips and hope he can find a way. I’d buy a multi-pack with repacks if need be. Sweetums is pretty interesting option. The big fellow is welcome.
Thwipp!
This was indeed a nice surprise.
Went ahead and pre ordered Uncle Deadly and Pepe. I'm buying this line for my wife but I'm kind of in a bind from a collecting stand point with EE having my Muppets Best of Figures Series 1 order on perpetual backorder. Can't cancel it and order elsewhere without getting a heft shipping charge for other things in the order but its also hard to collect without Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, and Gonzo.

I liked the first wave of these figures and preordered wave 2, except Lefty. Overall, I like these figures for what they are, but I am generally not a big fan of ReAction figures or their price. Oscar looks the best to me, although it looks like he has no arms or hands. Guy's chin should be longer. Excited to get them in hand to really check them out.
I am still holding out hope that DST get the Sesame Street license. One of the first questions on the YouTube Q&A was about new properties for DST. DSTChuck's hinted that one is a property closely related to one of their Disney licenses, which made me think potentially Sesame Street. He said the media is comics, which does not fit. I happened to see that a new Sesame Street comic is coming out this fall. So, maybe? Am I grasping at straws, definitely.
@bills-all-day Agreed, Super 7 is very much a better than nothing situation. I'd love to see Boss Fight tackle Sesame Street and/or Muppets based on what they are doing with Fraggle Rock. I'd be down for DST as well, but jumping to Sesame Street would be an odd choice if they aren't getting enough sales on their Muppets line.
Sweetums revealed:
Wow! Sweetums and Robin look great! Nice work DST and Gentle Giant. Are they really only $30? That's much more affordable than I expected.
Sweetums looks amazing! Can't wait to add him to the collection! The inclusion of a more accurately sized Robin is a nice touch.

That is the final price. I do not foresee us needing to raise it. Our Marvel Select figures are $30, and we made Apocalypse and Titanium Man at about that size.
That's such a great reveal!
What's the articulation for Sweetums?
I never could understand anything he said.
