@scottg10
Came here to say that I too got a notice that it would be charging soon.
And since I was there, and logged in, I might as well put in a waitlist order for two of the new Bartholomew Vex figures.
DAMN YOU MEZCO!

Unexpectedly, Pruneface showed up today from Entertainment Earth. I don't have a Tracy to go with him, but he looks fantastic!

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on Pruneface. Don't know much about Dick Tracy, but I ordered The Shadow and he seems like the perfect goon to square off against, and the two can swap accessories. Been watching the reviews and he seems like an incredible figure from the accessory load out, articulation, alternate looks, costuming etc. Since he'll likely arrive before The Shadow, he'll be my first Mezco.

Also ordered the Jon Hamm look alike Harvey Dent head for The Shadow off of eBay. I loved that he used his powers in the Baldwin movie to mask his face to appear as the beak-nosed iconic Shadow. Seems like Hamm would be a good stand in, and I want a hatless option for Lamont Cranston, seeing how I can strip him down to just a suit.

@hopethisworks I was thinking of ordering Pruneface to go with The Shadow as well!  If he would've been in the 2 pack  with  Tracy, I would've ordered it, but Flat Top just looks too silly for me.

@fuzzybluedemon I pulled the trigger this morning, I'm really excited for him. I think the Tracy and Flat Top set looks incredible if you are a DT fan, but yeah, they look a lot more cartoonish than Pruneface, and it would be impossible to sell Flat Top as a real person against The Shadow. Worth copping to swap the heads out, though, maybe, because the clothes look so great.

I can head canon Pruneface into a scarred villain. I love how different he can look with the expressions, but also with the glasses vs fedora vs overcoat vs shirtsleeves vs gas mask. I'll have a lot of fun switching him up.

Just watched DAmazing's video on the Bartholomew Vex Cult of the Crimson figure and man... while there is a zero percent chance I will ever buy any one:12 collective figures ever because I despise their entire approach to figure execution and their awful cloth costumes make me want to claw my eyes out ...   I LOVE so many of their head sculpts.   I realized I would be SO in if I could just buy head packs from them of their various characters.

I recognize that might be trickier with their licensed characters,  but even if they started only with their own in house characters I would be on board buying head packs for characters like this Bartholomew Vek,  Theodore Sodcutter or their Rumble Society characters like Death Adder, Atticus Doom, Hawk P-40.      I would love to have those heads to use...   Sigh...   maybe one day.

Just got in Pruneface, my first MEZCO. Holy smokes, what a great set. He was purchased to be a shelf foil to The Shadow coming later this month. While I have no interest in Dick Tracy, the sheer execution on this figure is outstanding. There's no love of the character bias on this figure. Hell, he's a scabby old grandpa, not really a figure I thought I'd ever want or need in my collection.

I'm going to have to get used to posing through cloth goods, which I'm not usually a fan of outside of capes/cloaks/small bits here and there. But credit where credit is due, I wish I had a suit as well tailored at this one. Maybe if I sell some figures 🤣 He looks brilliant in all the permutations - shirt sleeves, blazer, coat, hat, glasses, gas mask, scarf. They packed him out to be a man for all occasions, and he bleeds cool just standing there casually smoking with a gun in his hand.

The accessory load out in incredible, and I LOVE that they included extras of some of the more fiddly pieces, in the event you break or lose one, they've got your back. The tension of the joints is perfect, feels very stable in hand. Stand included? Accessory bag included? These considerations for the collector are noticed and appreciated.

I've heard a lot of bad things about MEZCO, as well as good things, and I'm glad my first experience is a resounding positive. Excited for the TMNT set as well as The Shadow. It's nice when I spend $100 on a figure that I come away feeling like I got my dollar's worth. Definitely the case here.

You sometimes CAN find people parting out figures online, as the line is RIFE with customizers (DisThunder of Fwoosh fame among them).

Doesn't hurt to keep an eye on eBay or websites that part out 1/6 scale figures, as they might also have 1/12 options if it's a popular line.

@archrivals he looks great!  I just wish I could get them to ship me ANYTHING! I've had a label printed for the Turtle set for over 2 weeks now, still don't even have that yet for The Shadow.

Looks like a straight up reissue of the first release.

I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than I would have posted something on this Popeye drop.

Regretted passing on him the first time.

Huh. That does look like a re-issue. Wasn't one of Mezco's big things early on the idea that they wouldn't be re-issuing figures so the originals maintained their value?

It's the same bullshit artificial scarcity model that so many companies profit on. Hopefully they've changed their tune.
