Anyway, about the figures...
My first reaction was to head) grab the King, but I just didn't love the look. He looks too, I don't know, kingly I guess. I'm flipping back and forth on whether or not to pick him up. I have the Conqueror (missed out on Barbarian because of a failed company) and that might be enough for me, at least until KD gets his way and they make a pirate/reaver Conan.
A PX version of Theodore Sodcutter just popped up on BBTS.

I don't really like the blue skin. Hopefully this means PX versions are coming back.
For that much you can just pay second hand prices on ebay for the original.
I think I'm going to pre-order the Dick Tracy two pack, which will be my first Mezco. I had a Keaton Batman and canceled it because, by the time it was actually released, I was broke.
I'm a little annoyed that they packaged these two together and inflated the price point, but I can't turn down a comic Tracy of this quality.
When do we actually think this thing will be released. It says Nov 2023, but I have to think that any time between 2025 will be a miracle.
Yep, this is the first actually good Dick Tracy action figure in the history of the character. I can't wait for my two-pack (even ordered Pruneface, too). I'm not a regular Mezco customer (I've only bought 89 Batman, DKR blue/yellow Batman, and the DKR Mutant two-pack), so I wish there was some information on the actual release date. Am I foolish to hope for this guy for Christmas?
I wouldn't count on that happening.
Am I foolish to hope for this guy for Christmas?
I guess that depends. Be more specific. Which Christmas? Like... THIS Christmas? Lol. No way.
Next Christmas? I'd say... hard maybe.
New to Mezco entirely, but I have the TMNT set on pre-order. What's their usual delay like, a year?

No, a year would be pretty fast for them. Multiple years is the standard, I think Solomon Kane took like three.
Got the charging soon notification for Gotham by Gaslight Bats! Excited.
@threash my turtles won't be teenagers in three years...
Lol, well, I paid in full so I won't sweat it and try my best to forget it and some day when I'm an old grizzled man wondering what's left to live for BOOM my Mezco 1:12 Turtles set will arrive and there will be peace in my heart.
Dang, I didn't know there was a company worse than MAFEX though. I guess each of em has their achilles huh.

With Mezco it's more like an Achilles Mission Statement.

May of 2021 is when Solomon went up for pre-order. So you're not too far off with 3 years. I think the first Conan also took around 3 years.
I wouldn't even say the hard part is the long waits and constant unexplained delays. For me the hard part of the wait with Mezco figures is their total lack of communication about when anything is going to come out. You just pre-order it and some random number of years later you get a message that your item is in the mail, and you'd better hope you haven't moved (or changed credit cards if you didn't pre-pay for everything). That's, to me, the frustrating part of the buying process. Just not knowing what's going on or how much longer you'll be waiting.
@theknightdamien yeah that sounds particularly frustrating. So many companies have opened a door into their process, it seems a bit old fashioned to not offer updates... I suppose they are afraid of generating waves of bad hype on social media with each dispatch.
With companies that have such a long track record for delayed PO's, it would be nice if they were just honest from the jump, giving at least a more quasi realistic timeframe, especially if you have to deposit or pay upfront. That dishonesty is indeed irritating.
With Mezco, their issues of timeliness are so well-documented that it almost has to be assumed that they just fear what putting a realistic timeline on their products would do to sales. If people knew they'd be waiting 2.5 years for delivery would they be less likely to preorder? Hard to say how much that matters, but their lack of communication is more than a little annoying. It leads to wild speculation that they have funding issues or licensing problems, but that's what happens when people have no information to go on and a lot of time to fill between solicitation and release.
