Even just deciding between 'wind-blown flame' and 'regular flame' for the torch was like picking a favorite child..
Mine is still on the living room shelf and hasn't even made it to the Dork Dungeon yet. He's not strictly a Halloween themed character, but close enough that he's staying up here until November along with Atticus, Sodcutter Headless Horseman and Masque of the Red Death. Sword, hat, wind blown hair, wind blown torch, no coat is his current load out.
King Conan is up for PO.
Went with BBTS. $10 non refundable vs $25 at Mezco plus the crap it may come with.
Trying to see if there are any easter eggs in the promo pics..Curious of the creature with pincers and the armored hand with shield. I don't think I've seen that shape before. Was the crocodile used for something?
Ha, I was about to check out and thought, I should double check to see if this is an exclusive. Went right over to BBTS.Â
Yup, just POed at BBTS too. Looks great.
Yeah, I know what I said.
But I pre-ordered the stupid King Conan figure. I just couldn't not do it. It lines up so perfectly with the three collected volumes (Conquering Sword, Bloody Crown, Coming of Conan the Cimmerian) to have the three Mezco figures representing them. I like the symmetry of it. And it's Conan. I've said before that he's one of my favorite fictional characters and always has been so... it's a weakness of mine. I even bought the awful McFarlane statues many years ago, despite that I do not and have never collected statues or 'stactions.'
Anyway... I did get my PO at BBTS just to avoid directly dealing with Mezco. I still feel a little dirty for giving Mezco any more of my money but I also always kind of knew I would in this case.
Yeah, I know what I said.

😆
To paraphrase Fight Club, I am Jack's complete lack of self-control around any properties I like, even when they're made by the most predatory toy company around.
We've all been there.
Â
King Conan looks terrific. Hopefully the cloaks turn out well, they've been the only thing I haven't liked with the previous Conan figures. Almost tempted to get two of it -- one for the Old Man Conan look and another for the regal King Conan look.
@theknightdamien I think that's the most acceptable and best way to deal with Mezco - just buy their stuff from someone else. I don't feel like they're predatory and deceitful like a certain former retailer turned toy producer, but that they have no interest in the customer service side of their business and view us all as annoying flies, a means to an end. Just thank the gods the figure you wanted wasn't a Mezco exclusive.
And we do these things because Mezco can make some terrific figures. This Green Ranger they did is going to be very high on my best of list for 2023. I think he's going to have a place on my desk for a long time.

See...
I'm not trying to derail another thread. And I'm not looking for a discussion. I'm just saying my two cents here and ducking out, so immediately fuck off, Damien...
And Misfit, don't take any of this personally, it's not an attack on you in the least.
But it baffles me that there are a certain sect of you that give passes to certain entities, like say...Dorkside...that you refuse to permit that same grace to "They Who Shall Not Be Named".Â
Dorkside who, for all intents and purposes tried the exact same fucking thing you accuse the other party of, if not worse. I mean, me personally? I'm out like 80 bucks on some Classified figures I ordered from Dorkside. That's money I'll never get back. I've accepted that, but this is the first time you're hearing about it because I don't bitch and piss about it every turn I get.Â
Is it just an out of sight, out of mind kind of thing here? Rhetorical.Â
But I will plead to the rational thinking mind here for one second, and again...I will not be reading any retorts, responding to any baiting by certain individuals:
Why would a company who is "predatory and deceitful", spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions, on legal representation to countersue (*successfully*, might I add) a massive operation like Entertainment Earth? Which is exactly why EE had to put out a press release mentioning their guilt in causing all of this bullshit in the first place?Â
I get that we look at it from the very base level of personal affect, how it affects me...
But as much as certain individuals will continuously spread lies-- like the dinero from your stolen Megalopolis money is funding Premium DNA, or that the Westovers intentionally screwed everyone over...
...it's not all as black and white as that. And frankly, how long are we going to do this dance? We are approaching the 5 year mark at this time. At a certain point, you're going to have to let it go, and stop this horseshit. We get it. The horse is beyond dead.Â
Â
It'll be nice to finally have 3rd Conan body, this'll act as my primary Conan (swapping out the younger head when I feel like it) while the other two can use the barbarian heads from that accessory set.

I knew the Megalopolis folks were suing EE, but I never saw or heard about an outcome. I'd be genuinely curious to read any legal document publicly available, as well as EE's statement.Â
I'm firmly on the "never forget" train until I see otherwise; and it sucks because I genuinely like the toys they're putting out, and I've had very pleasant albeit short interactions with Ben Westover on other corners of the Internet.Â
Â
@swordagent I know I said I would be ducking out, but curiosity got the better of me. Glad I peeped.
So, all court proceedings that I could find are behind a pay wall. You can find the information on PACER, if inclined to sign up and all that.Â
As far as the press release, that I do have:
I'd also like to point out that Megalopolis was a multiple time Inc. Top 5000 honoree. What company or business person in their right minds would ruin their reputations and throw away a successful business they worked so hard on and received multiple accolades on to "rip people off"?Â
Not sure what's so bad about Mezco, they are currently my favorite toy company.
