Is this the thread to discuss Indiana Jones in? Anyone get theirs yet?
I'm still not a fan, but I'm looking to be converted by everyone who gets theirs in hand while I've still got a prayer of landing one. From the promo and reviews so far the likeness to Ford doesn't look much better than the Hasbro figures, and those soft goods just don't look as good as the ones on the Figuarts Indy.
I received an email from Mezco that they'd be charging for Indy about a month ago but haven't heard anything since. I'm in the same boat as you, I wasn't wowed by the likeness or clothing but D Amazing and this guy have posted review videos this weekend and the final product looks pretty good to me, though the likeness is still a bit lacking. I had forgotten about the cool spiders piece.
The second video includes a comparison shot to the Figuarts Indy, too. Neither compare it to the Hasbro figs, unfortunately.
I was actually weighing just eating the deposit when I get the inevitable "card not processing" email from Mezco but now I'm leaning more toward keeping it.
I was waitlisted, then it got fulfilled. I had a bad card initially but have updated so they could charge me. I believe they have, but there's been no movement on Indy.
Mezco is watching! About 10 minutes after I posted I received a shipping notice on Indy. Weird.
No issues with the card on file either, which is even weirder. I believe it's the first time things have gone this smoothly for me on a preorder with them.
Mine shipped & was due yesterday... But FedEx never clicked over to Out for Delivery. So I had to redirect it to Walgreens for pickup, but it STILL hasn't clicked over to Out for Delivery... I'm beginning to worry.
Just discovered a big Mezco box on my front porch (so much for signature required ...) Anyway, I just took a quick peek at everything and I think Indiana Jones turned out pretty good. The likeness and the clothing look a lot better in hand — though still not perfect. Overall, definitely one of the better Indy figures I've seen.
The stand for the idol is a pretty hefty piece that looks great, too.
Still not sure I'm gonna hang on to it, looking at the prices the set's going for on eBay. Gotta think on this one.
I got my Indy. I think he turned out really well. I've been hoping they'd make him pretty much since the line began. I do really with he came with a bendy whip, as well as a straight one he could pose like he's swinging from. But I think the likeness looks fine, especially considering Harrison Ford has one of those faces that's just hard to capture.
Wish Mezco would just get on with it and give me a Xena, John Crichton (and Scorpius would be the single greatest figure of all time), some Battlestar and maybe a Gatchaman or two. Not like I want the moon on a stick or anything.
My waitlist Indy has been charged, but still no movement. I was hoping to get it in time for Christmas.
Doc Savage is going up for preorder tomorrow. Appears to be a regular release.

It’s a Christmas miracle! Dr Jones was delivered today on Christmas Eve!

I got mine ordered from BBTS. Excited for the Bronze Man!
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but I have a highly specific Mezco question that I'll likely just have to resolve on my own, though I thought I'd try my luck just in case.
I have their Shadow figure and I want to do a light customization of the cape, which clasps around the neck with a little plastic snap clasp/button. To do so I'll need to buy another set of snaps. I've been searching across the internet looking for compatible snaps, but the ones I just ordered don't do the trick.
I'm guessing that this snap is commonly used in their clothing (maybe not, maybe it's unique to the Shadow) and if so I'm wondering if any of you out there have ever replaced one or customized clothing using them. Shot in the dark, but I don't know how to crack this nut outside of taking my little cape to a tailor downtown, which would be hilarious, or a doll shop, if there were one.
We'll see. Thanks for reading.
