I have a feeling we see these in stores - affordable and accessible.Β Kinda interesting. I would be giddy to get 10 or so.
I SERIOUSLY doubt either of those 2 things happen. I don't think LC has the resources to get line into retail, and he's only done, at most 3 figures within a certain time period. I don't think he has the capital needed to undertake something like that AFTER having to pay whatever was required for the license. Rob's not giving it away for free here, let's not be dense there.
Β
Itβs going to be funny as hell to own a Cabbot figure thatβs better than the Cable figure.
However unlikely it may be, I do hope these are cheaper and available widely. 80βs and early 90βs properties get a chance to shine again, why not the mid and late 90βs stuff? 5 years ago I would have never guessed I could go to Target and buy a 6-7 inch scale Indiana Jones next to a Masterverse new adventures Skelator next to a wall of TMNT figures including the Mirage Turtles, flanked by a fox kids cartoon Wolverine and a Cobra Range Viper. Also you can buy TMNT ultimates (and other super 7 ultimates) at Best Buy, so if these loose collector figures could get to around $40-50 I dont see why they couldnβt also be offered at retail.
If I could see a Badrock figure on the pegs next to Spawn again, it would be Awesome. After og Spawn, Badrock was my first McF figure. I remember making the case to my mom that it was a big heavy toy so it was worth the money (an argument later used to get Alien Spawn as well).
@felgekarp One of the coolest and most unique comic runs ever for me, definitely all time favorite of mine!
The Glory reboot from the same era was pretty awesome too. Β A figure of her could be pretty cool too.
Β
I'm not being dense though - why say "accessible and affordable" in the reveal if it's only going to be the exact same price and release process??Β Because he's hitting an audience who is unfamiliar with previous releases?Β That's thin, it sounds like something else is happening here.Β It would also be a better way to recoup the licensing to your other point. Which I doubt is in high demand without Youngblood, but IDK, he is the creator of Deadpool and sold a shit ton of comics in the 90s.Β Plus his designs are cool as hell in figure form.
Β
Honestly, I'm just thrilled I will get some vintage Liefeld figures.Β Badrock was my favorite 90s figure and that stings. But Bloodstrike, Brigade, Prophet not only have the same visual aspects I'm looking for, they also never had figures before.Β Except a comic store Prophet.Β So if it's BBTS only, or LCS and Gamestop....or WalMart, I can't miss this.Β Cabbot is probably my biggest want because it's Cable done the way I would like.Β Then give me 9-10 bonkers figures around him.Β Would be amazing.
Β
I do agree though he only releases 3 figures at once and is small.....but it's more than he was doing.Β Who knows what his long term plan is?Β Could he have Marc Silvestri and Erik Larsen lined up next.Β I want this to be the next big line.
Every member of Bloodstrike will probably have detachable limbs.
LOL there's no way a toy line based on Rob Liefeld's more obscure creations ends up at retail. Come on now. The man has his fans but he is well past his peak.
@hellpop I'm not suggesting the names are popular now, just that something different must be going on if they're marketing "accessible and affordable"Β Maybe they upped the quantity that BBTS and others will carry(?? ) Not sure.Β I'm really looking forward to it.Β Eventually may bite the bullet for the exclusive Hyde on their site.
Β
This will be the best comic line available once it hits, that alone should make it available to the masses, but it's about IPs not what's done best.Β Unless LC has some quality control issues I am unaware of.
@chooch555 This makes sense and would be ideal.Β Give me Cabbot and the blue/red guy - Hell for all I know that's the same dude.Β A couple Prophets, maybe a Crypt, the Wolverine knockoff, Battlestone and Bloodwolf.
If it'll be expensive and full on ridiculous I want Shogun:
Β
oh hell yes.Β I saw that somewhere!Β I think the whole point of the line will be "full on ridiculous" and I will pay for it.
So this showed up today with zero notice whatsoever:
Will try to have some thoughts and pics up before Christmas.
