Well, just got in my great wolf Dilim...
Hip and thigh swivel on one side were completely frozen solid. I put it in some super hot water for a few minutes, try again and the thigh swivel twists right off. That's... never happened to me before on a figure, and certainly not on one I dropped a C-note for.
I mailed their site, don't know if they're in the habit of doing refunds or replacements but this sucks. Think it'll be my last from them since I'm seeing other folks have similar issues. This one was supposedly delayed for QC issues no less and still this was it straight out of box. The other joints were all fine. Tight, but not absurd.
Just bummed out at this now. He looks so cool, but I can't help but feel like I was robbed.
Edit:
LC did contact me back fast and says they'll be sending a replacement part. Not sure I'll really be able to use that though. I've never done this sort of surgery on a figure. The hip joint is still frozen and I'd need to remove it to fix the bit that busted (not to mention get the torn bit out of the lower leg). -_-
I'll see how it goes and report back, but didn't want folks to think they're non-responsive if you email the website. All things considered I didn't expect a response until Monday and they got back to me within a few minutes.
Realized I never followed up on this. I did get replacement parts from LC. They mailed them out right away, but since it was coming from the Philippines it took a LOOOONG time to get here. After replacing the broken bit my Dilim works like he ought to. Pros: he looks rad as hell, and has only slightly less shelf presence than the recent Marvel Legends Hulkbuster. If you have a horror display, he'll dominate pretty heavily over anything smaller. Love love love the face sculpt, even though it's got the sort of vampire fangs I don't like as much on werewolves (canines yes, canines over twice as long as other teeth, not so much). He's also got a good degree of articulation, and can hit some cool poses.
Cons: though he can hit poses, the weight in the upper torso makes it not fun at all to pose him. You have to be very balance-conscious and he's got so much heft that if he takes a dive off the shelf from any height he's likely to suffer a break. I feel like there must have been a way to hollow out some of the upper torso to shed this weight. It's the main thing holding him back.
Only other minor issue is he feels like he can't look up very far.
Overall I feel like I paid a bit more than I should've for the problems out of box, but I don't feel like I regret the purchase. If you need a king of the werewolves, he'll certainly do.
I almost want to give him a soft goods cape and some sort of large weapon to make him a giant werewolf warrior, but that might be too much.
I cancelled my Wolf figure for budgeting reasons, but maybe come back to it once I get Hyde and a new budget. And if they release that Frankenstein they teased last June.
But wanted to chime in I have the Liefeld Extreme figures in hand. BBTS is still waiting to fulfill my pre-order but Liefeld was selling autographed ones at regular price on his WhatNot and I went for it. I was getting extras anyway. They are amazing. Doesn't matter if you dislike the character or creator, these guys are so big and well done. They have a shelf presence to them given their stature and paint. Accessories are insane. They're oozing attitude and detail that gives you plenty to look at it, but they're also dynamic with different weapons and ways they can hold or store them. Plus they move very well and sturdy. I think I had them standing on one leg.
I wanted to post because I see a lot of complaints about stuck joints or paint and am just saying these guys deliver. Maybe they improved on earlier issues collectors had. I think Bloodwulf is the stronger of the 2 because I dig the colors so much....plus that hair.
Also when Liefeld announced he was doing the auction on Instagram he mentioned there is a Wave 2. Don't know when or who, it's a long game for these figures, but thought some people here may want to know that and these figures are sturdy. Hoping for a Prophet.
Has there been any news on the Great Wolves line? Dilin, the one I was hoping to get, has been sold out for awhile and the others are still pre-orders.
@lightsyder No new word. I did get my Dilim (and the replacement part for the bit that broke). Since they had to do tweaks for QA at the factory at the end of the year, and we're coming up on Chinese New Year, I wouldn't be surprised if they only got one wave of the figs out before getting locked into a production snag that might last through January.
That's all guessing, of course, but if I were looking at buying more wolves I wouldn't expect them until Feb at the earliest at this point.
Yeah, if it ain't already on a boat at this point you ain't getting it until Spring Break at best.
@jakeekiss thanks for the info! I really want to get Dilin to be the alpha for the Kiloworg's and veterans I've got.
@adrienveidt that is probably a correct estimate...
@lightsyder Be careful posing for frozen joints and use HOT water to release them, but otherwise, Dilim looks real real rad. Hard to pose, but otherwise awesome.
Does anyone know of any Witchblade figures that may scale well with these?
Legendary Comic Book Heroes would fit. It has the articulation, but the sculpt isn't in the same league as these Executive Replicas figures.Does anyone know of any Witchblade figures that may scale well with these?
Edit: Had to look it up. The LCBH line was released in 2007, almost 20 years ago.
Yea i have that one. That figure is pretty close to awful. I meant something decent but I haven't seen anything besides customs when I look.
Does anyone know of any Witchblade figures that may scale well with these?
They aren't as articulated as modern figures are, but these look better than the LCBH figure.
I have those. They're not 1 12 scale and they're basically glorified statues. But they weren't bad for the time.
Welp, looks like dems your only options for Witchblade figures. Maybe start lobbying to LooseCollector.
The Rocketeer & Butch just hit my pile of loot on BBTS. Nearly all my POL is his stuff: Hellwitch (Hellfire ver.), & Bloodwulf. I did put BFS Red Sonja back on preorder after seeing the packaged shots.
All say they are due within a month, so It would be nice to get them all together.
