I always pushed back when people suggested Simpsons was a dead property, the boutique of boutique IPs, especially when it was used to defend Super7's decisions, price point, etc. "just be happy these are getting made"
Simpsons is still incredibly popular - it's a nostalgia IP that also has footing in Gen Z. I personally think if NECA had gotten the license and put out figures to the quality of their ALF or upcoming Sesame Street lines, we might have a line that could go as deep as their cartoon TMNT.
It's helpful that JAKKS are so cheap, but I still think there is a place for a $35 Bart figure, or even better, $55 Simpsons two packs with replacement heads/hands.
It's funny, this JAKKS line is actually like what S7 did with their Turtles - a modern update to the Playmates figures. These feel like World of Simpson figures made in 2024, or even a modern update to the vintage Mattel figures.
Finally got a Bart, he is so much fun to pose on his skateboard. I found him at Walmart, might go back on payday for a few others. They had Bartman, Willie, Otto and Homer too. I really want Willie and Otto so I can start a Simpsons band lol.
Sorry to double post but it has been a while. Grabbed Groundskeeper Willie. Gave his bagpipe to a custom dnd character I made who plays the bagpipe in my game, and Willie is going to make for some fun pictures. I want to take so many pictures of him, I have ideas for him as a graveyard groundskeeper, and he holds rifles so well too, great facial expression. Such a fun figure!
Ok, so does anybody have any pics of Homer next to either Cap America or Cobra Commander or both? It would be like three aspects of my personality come to life.
I'm surprised they're not selling the 2 inch line at Five Below (at least to my knowledge). I know they're mostly a closeout store, but I've seen more and more new lines, or even dedicated Five Below lines, pop up there. Would be a great way to get the word out a bit more to casual collectors, and the smaller figures fit the price point anyway.
They are being sold there.
@miraclemen Yeah, I saw a post on one of the socials a week or so ago that showed them showing up there. I think it's a great idea! They haven't shown up at any of mine yet, which is why I was out of the loop, but once they do (if they do), it'll be tempting not to grab a few. I like that Five Below is starting to get new things, not just excess stock from elsewhere.
Nice to see these continuing to sell well. I've only seen the smaller figures on the pegs a couple times, and the next time I go back, they're all gone. Think I only saw the larger ones once, and not even the full wave. Methinks we'll keep seeing Simpsons waves for quite some time.
Just brought home Bartman. This has been a dream figure for me since Super7 got the license, but I held off on their orange shirt version, thinking they'd eventually re-release in blue.
Pretty great articulation, honestly, the elbow gets way more than 90. Really wish we had a ball on the head or neck though. Speaking of the head - this is the portrait S7 should had included in their set, period.
Might take him to the fabric store in the future to see if I can purple match and make him a little wired cape. Plastic looks good, but I'd like a pose for when he's on the skateboard.
Looks great on the shelf, or as a desk fidget. Excited for what's next.
I found a Bart that didn't have horrible eyes so I have finally bought into this line. There was a lone Homer as well so I grabbed him. Mostly satisfied with the articulation, still wish heads were easily removed and that Bart was smaller. I do have one question for those with Bart - are his knees different? The articulation cut is different between the left and right knee on mine. On the left, there's a lip and the hinge is cut below that. On the right there is no lip at all on the front so the hinge is always visible. I wish I had noticed in the store because they had two Barts with okay eyes.

@misfit no, I think that's unfortunately a QC issue on yours. Both my Bartman and Bart have knees that are identical and flush at the joint. Looks like maybe your right thigh is on backwards. You may be able to boil and pop the ball joint out of the shin, twist the thigh around, and reattach.
I got Radioactive Man the other day, I’ve not taken him out of the box yet but he looks pretty good, comes with a backdrop and a light up chest.
@hopethisworks good catch, you are correct. I was able to spin both the lower leg and thigh with just some force. That's the beauty of a $13 action figure, I was willing to just risk twisting the lower leg right off. I'm actually surprised I didn't shear the peg off, but the joints must be cast in a fairly hard plastic so it worked out.
according to Entertainment Earth, we ought to be seeing wave 2 in the near future. bummer that Homer is exactly the same as the last one though.
He seems a bit smaller than the other figures.

Where are you finding wave 2 5”? EE is sold out of Krusty, and only offering a case of 6. Amazon also sold out and walmart is scalping.

@mr_articulate He’s as tall as Homer but he’s slimmer, I don’t know how big he should be though.
