Looks like wave 2 of the little figures popped up on BBTS. Itchy, Scratchy, Sideshow Bob in his prison outfit, Krusty, and a Bart that I presume is posed to hold a drawn slingshot.
Itchy and Scratchy will be fun to mix with the larger line.

Krusty looks like he heartily endorses this event or product.
Those look cute! Itchy and Scratchy are actually ones I think I'd pick up regardless of the rest of the line. They feel like ones that can stand on their own well enough, and the smaller line feels appropriate for them. Definitely not a fan of that Bart, but Krusty and Bob look pretty good.

another thing: I don't have an issue with any 'play features' so as long as they do not compromise the overall figure e.g. anything that would mess with the articulation, anything that requires any unsightly buttons or levers, etc.
BUT! I am hoping that these attempts to appeal to younger buyers don't limit what Jakks can produce. as I mentioned earlier, Playmates had some difficulty getting a Moe's Tavern set released because Fox considered The Simpsons a kids' property. of course if there are similar issues that would just mean some stuff would have to be exclusive releases, similar to how Moe's Tavern was only available at Electronics Boutique.
could be too early to have those concerns though.....
Disney let Super7 do Duffman, so I would assume Moe's Tavern is a possibility for Jakks should they want to produce it. I do agree it would probably be a specialty release and not something Target would want in their toy aisle. They let NECA sell stuff with cigarettes and alcohol in the collector section though, so maybe they could just put it there? It's probably in the hands of Jakks though. I am not familiar enough with the company to know if it ever produced something similar in the past or if they think it would be bad for their brand to do such a release. Their approach to the license is like that of a kid's property as I assume Disney has some marketing analytics that show kids are consuming it on Disney+, but they're not dumb. They know the audience for the show now is largely those who were kids in the 90s and they're trying to please both markets. It might depend on their own sales data and if they think adults are buying stuff like the living room set or if it's largely going to kids (or just not selling well at all).
saw a video review of the Bartman figure. the heads on Bartman and regular Bart can be swapped, hopefully all future Homer/Bart/etc. figures follow suit. unfortunately the cape on Bartman is glued in so anybody wanting to make a plain blue shirt Bart will need to do a bit of customizing.
Went to walmart to find Bart and didnt find him. then i went to Target and found him, he was the only one, its called destiny. he tape measures: 3.75" the Bartman from Super7 measures: 4.25" so its half inch taller and bulkier of course. I'm pretty satisfied with the Jakks version though. its very Articulated. I wish he came with his sling shot, damn it. (Apu & Dolph figures are from WOS)
Other characters i would instantly buy but that's it:
- brown dog
- black cat
- Maggy
- Homer
- Simpson horror stuff
- Bumblebee guy
5" line is up on amazon as temporarily out of stock, but able to be ordered.
recently saw this, I'm guessing this means that Series 2 Homer is just a re-release of the first one?
Based on that pic from amazon, Itchy and scratchy will be 5 inches, awesome! instant buy.
I will also mention that if this line sees a lot of straight re-releases I'll be a little disappointed BUT if keeping the line afloat means ensuring plain versions of the main characters stay easily available, then I won't complain too much. I know Jakks does this with their Mario and Sonic lines so I shouldn't be surprised either.
though like a lot of you, I'd like to see the next white shirt/blue pants Homer get a different head sculpt and accessories. (one Homer we never got with Playmates is a 'Power Plant' Homer which is basically just regular Homer with a tie and buttoned collar. that is unless you count Donut Head Homer)
I passed on Bart at Target a few weeks ago, then went again and found only weird eyes on him, then next time I saw only Otto and Homer, but wanted Bart first. Then I figured i'd grab whoever I could since I wanted the full wave eventually anyway. But they were all gone. I am glad they seem to be selling, and will definitely pick one up next time I see one as these can work as fun background civilian characters in a lot of toy shots I do too. Plus I think these are fun looking toys.
After having Amazon cancel my wave 1 set and deluxe figures I finally found some figures at Walmart. I’m happy to have Homer, Willie and Bart. Now I just have to track down Otto.
I ordered Bartman on Walmart.ca but they cancelled my order twice. So I’m bummed about that.
2.5” figures seem to be harder to find in my area.
Still haven't seen a single 5 inch figure on the shelves in my area. Seen a fair amount of 2 inch figures, and surprisingly, they seem to be selling through. Some stores are completely out of them, as well as the playsets. It's mostly the family set that I see, and even that is down to just a few per store. The only thing that doesn't seem to be moving is the Moe's Tavern phone. It's nice to see that a Simpsons line still has legs even after all these years.
I'm surprised they're not selling the 2 inch line at Five Below (at least to my knowledge). I know they're mostly a closeout store, but I've seen more and more new lines, or even dedicated Five Below lines, pop up there. Would be a great way to get the word out a bit more to casual collectors, and the smaller figures fit the price point anyway.
