@misplacedprojectile do we still have a trade forum here? If not, I've got a bunch of extra WOS I will be posting either here or on the Facebook Simpsons Collector Sector.
I think I'm more interested in this Talking Krusty Doll from Treehouse of Horror III than I am the figures, and it looks like he's hitting Targets now:
Found the family box set of little figures at Target today, but no big ones... didn't look like there was actually shelf space for them nearby. I passed on the little figs but might actually pick them up later. They looked really good. Made me excited for the larger ones.
not Simpsons related but Syndicate Collectables has a 6-inch Bender coming out
don't know if there are any other figures or if he will come with any accessories.
No new reveals at SDCC!? This is terrible!
I don't think SDCC is a big event on the Jakks calendar. They're more apt to reveal stuff at the next Toy Fair.
according to online listings, some figures coming for the 5in line include Lisa, Mr. Burns, Moe, Krusty, and Bartman. here are some photos of Bartman
for the 2.5in line there will be a Krusty Burger playset and the next wave of 2.5in figures will be Krusty, Itchy, Scratchy, Sideshow Bob, and another Bart (supposedly with one-eye closed and with a slingshot). no pictures yet
After going to 17 targets in 3 days, I finally have all of the five inch figures. I love them and can’t wait for the next set. Hopefully they surprise us and roll them out in the fall. I can’t wait to complete the core family and really need Mr. Burns.
So far the only complaint I have about these is that the eyes on Bart are AWFUL on like 75% of the figures I found. I passed on at least five Barts before finding one with decent eyes. Weirdly, it doesn’t seem to be an issue with any of the other characters, so hopefully they rectify it moving forward.
I stumbled across a set while traveling to my nearest out of town Target to do my Tiger Paw pickup. I wasn't sure if I was getting into this line but the price is so low it was hard to leave them there so I grabbed them all. One Bart had googly eyes for sure but the other was fine. At least that is an easy fix if you have to do so. I probably haven't seen 20 Simpsons episodes in my life but because of the show's impact in pop culture I somehow still know almost all of the characters so I still want to collect them all.
@misplacedprojectile I've seen mostly bad Barts too, but also saw a bad-eyed Homer. It was like his right eye wasn't seated into his head all the way or something. I don't know if that's even possible, or if it was a bad paint job.
I got the Evil Krusty doll yesterday. He's awesome for what it is and will be a fun Halloween decoration. I wish he said "I'm Krusty the Clown and I'm going to kill you," but maybe Jakks drew the line at death threats when it came to their talking toy. The box he comes in is a fantastic recreation of the one from Treehouse III. I was tempted to leave him in-box.
Finally saw some of the figures yesterday. No 5 inch ones, only the 2.5. This sounds so stupid, but I didn't realize how small they really were. I think my brain was just thinking around 3.75 inch because they look a little bigger in the photos (ain't that always the case? 🤣) , so I was surprised to see them so small. They only had the family pack and the house playset, along with a single evil Krusty Doll in the electronics section. I passed on them for now; still wanna hold out and see where the line goes for both scales (and just see the 5 inch ones in person).
I’m super excited about these lines.
I haven’t had any luck finding the 5 inch line but my closest target DID have the smaller figures and I grabbed Bart and Homer.
I’m really hoping that playmates gets kinda crazy with these and makes a ton of characters.
the only gripe I have so far is that Bart’s head is just too damn big
Amazon has wave one of this line, though it's sold as a bundle which will likely frustrate those who are having trouble tracking Willie and Otto. Also, the inconsistent eyes make these a tough buy, sight unseen. The deluxe figures are up for preorder as well - 25 bucks a piece. I think Jakks may be reaching a bit on that price for what these are. I at least need to see them in person before committing.
I have no intention of starting a new collection but my only Target has the full wave. Otto and Willy look fantastic, Bart and Homer a little less so. The joints are a bit more pronounced/ugly on them I think, and yeah the giant eyes skew towards derpy.
How much are these supposed to be? I swear the peg said $24.99.
