True. Every site does. I've had it happen with BBTS, Pulse, Amazon, all of them. That was one of the only times I'd ever encountered anything like that, though- full-on cancelling an order because they're "not getting the items", then throwing the products back up for pre-order a few weeks later. Don't get me wrong, I've been very lucky in my time in regards to what I collect coming in stock promptly and all that. I haven't dealt with many cancellations, and I understand that every site has their issues from time to time. The economy being what it is, even they probably don't know a lot of times if they're getting something from the distributer. I'm not catastrophizing just yet- I doubt it's another Dorkside situation (which I'm still salty about, tbh).
Anywho, back on topic. I found the Dog Thing at Target today, which was a nice surprise. Hadn't seen many sightings of it here on the east coast. They had 2 on the shelf, and even though I told myself I'd behave, I had to snag one. Just looked too darn cool not to get. I'm fully expecting to get my cardio for the day trying to put all the pieces in, and I still don't have a MacReady to keep it in line, so it'll just wreak havoc on the shelf for a while.
I'm still recovering from assembling my dog-Thing figure! It's a challenge and it does look great, just really fiddly and kind of a "cram on a shelf and never touch" kind of thing. My colorized Creature from the Black Lagoon is slated for delivery tomorrow so I'm excited for that.
I still haven't acclimated to the post-COVID world. I'm still operating like it's pre-2019 so I guess I should temper my expectation some. I'm old Gen X so it's hard for me to adjust sometimes. I feel like my Grandpa bitching about remembering when customer service existed and dates were set in stone!
Preternia posted that Earl and Baby Sinclair are up on Walmart's site. They seem to be shipping directly from NECA, so there's the shipping price on top of the figures. But that means they are in the states and probably in stores real soon.
Yeah, Kyle Petterson just did a review of Baby Sinclair on Youtube so I'm glad to see they are coming soon. I had the old Baby figure as a teen. Pretty much just rotocast toys with swivel arms and legs but they were pretty accurate to the costumes on TV. I loved that show when it was on!
Found the Dinosaurs figures at Target. So they are ooooout. Baby's smaller than I expected, but kind of the perfect size to have included alllll these accessories. Earl's great, so happy with how he turned out. The sculpting is perfect.
God I hope we get the rest of the family. I want Roy, Spike, etc, but I just want the family itself and I'll be more than happy. Robbie and Fran next wave plz.
Gotta have the Wesayso President!
NECA's Instagram has all their Thanksgiving figures labeled as "exclusives" to their store...but there is no mention on the Store site of them being exclusive. Very odd. Don't want to miss out on the John Carver figure, but I'd also rather buy in a store than pay for NECA's insane shipping.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen him pop up anywhere else. I wonder if he truly will be a NECA exclusive, or just an early release, like the recent Miner and MacReady. I missed out on the NYCC Ghostface, which I was really bummed about, and don't wanna miss out on another exclusive. I quite like the look of Carver, even as simple as it is, and with the reused parts. But you're right- that shipping is a bummer. Not the worst around, but buying in store or with Prime would really help, especially this time of year.

According to Blaine from Neca it's getting a wide release in the US later.

Great movie BTW.

Thank you! That makes me feel a bit better. I can be patient and wait for him to be available later.
I'm with you...LOVED the movie! Old school slasher that reminded me of classics like My Bloody Valentine. Roth managed to make it true to that style, yet still seem very modern. Just a lot of fun, and I really want a sequel!
Saw Thanksgiving yesterday, and I'll join the chorus and say I loved it too. A lot more fun than I thought it was going to be- the Scream comparisons are apt. It was schlocky and cheesy, but it knew it, and wasn't afraid to play into it at times. Reminded me of a mash-up of Scream and Krampus tonally, with the dark holiday humor.
I quite liked Carver as a villain, too. Wasn't too sure about the pilgrim getup at first, but its simplicity and uncanny face really grew on me. Loved the look of the melted mask, and wish it got a bit more screentime; that'll probably be the one I display him with. I'll gladly add him to the collection once he's out wide, which hopefully won't be too long after the home media drops. Carver and Krampus will join the Headless Horseman on my shelf as the Holiday Squad. Holiday Homies? It's a work in progress....
I would love if we got more Dinosaurs figures but I feel like this is it. BP Richfield would be great and HUGE
Just in case anyone is curious...
Valak (The Nun) has April O'Neil's legs under her gown.
I managed to snag Earl and baby Sinclair from Best Buy earlier in the week, and they were delivered today by the USPS after the UPS handoff.
I am LOVING these, and have been dreaming about something like these for years.
I cannot wait to see what else NECA have in store for this line.
