It's why they used to have that "fan ambassador" policy where they wanted people to neaten up the NECA section and provide photos, and would do giveaways for those people.
Â
That program is still very much alive. Just got 20 bucks from NECA last week for participating in it.
Â
Some of my local stores look like they don't often have any attention paid to them.
Got this off the Target eBay store.
I can never quite tell with mine. It looks like some attention is paid, but other times it looks like they just throw things wherever. I might have to look into becoming an ambassador. I go to Target often enough I might as well.
I ended up trying to use the toy coupon on a McFarlane product today, but it still didn't work for it. It was one from the collector section by the movies, though, so who knows? I'll give it a try with a NECA product next time I'm there- I don't like to take advantage, but if the employee doesn't mind it, or doesn't know what qualifies and what doesn't, then I might as well try. I'll leave it up to the Toy Gods.
What's even more of a smack to the face is half of my Targets (and I have a lot of them near me) started putting all the Neca and other figures from the Electronics dept in the toy isles earlier this year.
An old figure, but this Terminator is one of my favorites that NECA ever did:
Â
New feral predator is awesome, for the money I feel like I got over served, so many hands and weapons, face options, this is the north American import axis
My Feral Predator should be arriving today from Target. I love everything I've seen on him so far. I used to LOVE the Alien and Predator movies as a kid, but for some reason, this is the first NECA Predator I've gotten. Would love to see Naru made.
Jumping back onto the NECA train recently means I missed out on all the AvP movie figures, much to my chagrin. I was obsessed with the McFarlane ones growing up- cut myself many a times on those crazy arm blades they had. I know I read a while back that they were going to be moving on to AvP Requiem after one of the anniversaries. Seems like that may not be the case anymore, but I'd love a PredAlien. Was too poor to be able to afford one as a kid, and for some idiotic reason, I skipped over the Hiya line, and now the ones I want are quite overpriced.

I recently saw a ton of Hiya releases on BBTS for good prices, wolf and predaliens, might be worth a look
Â
And neca showed a prototype wolf years ago but there's been nothing ever since, it's a meme at this point, there is so much they could make and sell, and even remake at this point, no idea what the issue is
Â
I think it's a safe bet that the issue is Disney taking ownership of the property. Ever since they bought 20th Century Fox, the Alien & Predator lines have slowed to a trickle.Â
Finally took FP out of the box, and even without all the cool, swanky armor that the other Preds have, he's a really cool, fun figure. Beautiful sculpt and paint work, and the dreads each being separate help so much with the overall feel. It would've been so easy to just make the dreads one connected piece, and I'm sure it would've looked fine enough, but it's that attention to detail I love. And the little fur/tufts/whatever underneath those on his back- another easy omission, but their inclusion really helps sell it; they're something you might not even notice until you really do some digging, and that's what helps set NECA apart.
I think the interchangable mandibles is such a fun concept, and one I hope we see implemented more (provided NECA can do any more Preds). My preferred one is the open mandibles- I thought I'd like the screaming ones best, but they're a bit too big for my taste.
Loved the bone helmet from the first time I saw it, and it's beautifully recreated here. I think the the only thing that could've made it better would be to include the laser sight as well, but it might detract from the overall feel of it, so I'm cool as-is. The magnetic backpack is another really fun choice, and I'm glad it feels so sturdy. The gun's magnets don't hold quite as well, but I don't mind having him hold in.
I could've sworn we saw somewhere an unfurled cut clamp (I think that's what it was, anyway), but that didn't make it into the final product. Maybe a future release of a Battle Damaged Feral or with Naru?
The included hooks for his belt were a little unclear as to where to place, and I couldn't ever get both of them in at once (though, to be fair, I'm not sure if you need both, since the small combistick fits just fine with just the one). His shield can also be a little easy to pop out, but again- a minor nit. Such a cool figure; one I'm glad I waited for and didn't pay the comic store prices, even if those do feel a bit more fair for what you're getting- but at the price I paid, he's one heck of a deal.
Now to slowly fill in my ranks of some of the past releases of Alien, Predator, and AvP. Not gonna be a headache at all. 😜Â

I've seen people on reddit and elsewhere say they've found the Dog Thing at Target. Most of what I recall were west coast, but it's rolling out now. Can't wait for EE to get mine out to me.
Been watching the reviews for Dog Thing, and it looks pretty dang gnarly. A bit hard to put together, but that's a small nit. Can't wait to track it down myself. Heck, in playing catch-up, I still need to grab a MacCready too. I'm eyeing the second version with the flamethrower and petri dish, but the whiskey bottle from the first release is tempting too.
Just picked up a Dog Thing at my local Target this morning. Haven't even opened him yet.
I saw the Dog Thing today at a Target in MA, so it's pretty widespread. Just one, and this store recently did a big inventory with a third party which resulted in some old stuff from the back making its way back out to the shelf (TMNT Metalhead, Gargoyles Goliath). As someone who has never seen The Thing, I took one look at the figure and just put it back. I have no idea what it's supposed to be. The box was nice though and quite large.
