@misfit God, this line really exploded didn't it? What's worse is I'm loving all these new ones. They're so fucking strange and colorful.
Don't have any useful speculation to offer, and who knows if it's permanent or an error or what, but Target seems to have dropped a bunch of NECA offerings from their website. I check it most days to see if anything new has come up with a simple "NECA" search, filtered for toys and listed by date. Previously, it always returned results in the 130s and 140s. This morning, it returned ... 21. Curious...
Well, it's back up in the 120s now. Newer stuff like Vincent Price, ultimate M3GAN, the American Werewolf 2-pack, Hammer Dracula, Romulus Xenomorph, etc. all back on the site.
Relieved to report that my NECA shipping experience is still 100% on point. Received my set of Universal Monsters Toony Terrors today, and I got them all. No incorrect Mummy figure, all four are Toony and all four are fun. No shipping notice either!
My Target got some new stuff, including the Universal Monster Toony Terrors. That, plus the fact that the website has been getting the newer figures has me really wondering about this whole "dropping NECA in 2025" thing. Is this just shit they've had ordered and OK'd to ship to stores anyway? What about online? It feels like if they were killing things they wouldn't want any extra stock hanging around.
I don't get it.
Yeah, my stores are all getting new items, plus they keep restocking things that sell out online as late as last week. It's possible they may stop, but I'm not putting stock into the rumor until it is actually announced or it actually happens.
I wonder if the truth of this rumor was more a clearing out old product kind of thing, not necessarily removing NECA from stores permanently.
My local store hasn't stocked anything in weeks and it's been decimated. It's also a week after Christmas and most of the store looks like crap so I don't know that it means anything. I was trying to pay attention to the recent Trevor Zammit interviews on Robo's channel to see if he mentioned Target at all and I didn't hear anything so maybe that was part of the ground rules before the interview began? Or maybe it just didn't naturally come up? We'll know soon enough as I doubt NECA will continue the Target Ambassador program long into 2025 if they're not going to be stocking anything.
NECA did send out their year-end email for the Target Ambassador program yesterday (or Tuesday, I forget) and it did contain the nugget of info that they intend to continue the program for 2025. It's probably a cut and paste of last year's email, but if you're looking for any sign that the Target relationship is continuing then that's a pretty good one.
Every once in a while I find myself wishing NECA would offer those head stands they used to sell again. There are often some pretty nice alt heads with their figures and I can't display them all!
@cmoney I see them at Target from time to time so they still make them. I think they come in 3 packs, but they're around 15 bucks or something which I always felt was a little steep so I've never bought any.
PS: Head stand thoughts most recently inspired by:
I've got a shipping label from NECA appearing in my Informed Delivery as of yesterday, with nothing on order that I can think of. Checking my account history with them, I see they still have my Hammer Drac and Universal Monsters Toony Terrors listed as "Unfulfilled" even though I've received both. Am I about to become one of the infamous double-shippees?
@cmoney Did you order the SDCC exclusives? Maybe those are finally going out...

Did you order anything NECA from Target or Walmart online? It could be either of those as well.
