Now that it's Fall I've been going through my Universal Monster Collection again, this time doing each set in series. Last night was the start of The Mummy and, coincidently, my World Slavery Eddie arrived. Spooky! 😲
Buddy of mine got a shipping notice for his Hammer Dracula today. Hoping for one myself, but cool that they seem to be releasing now.
Never did get a shipping notice, but UPS emailed today to say I've got a package coming from Rubies Costume tomorrow, so I guess mine shipped as well.
Got my Lee Dracula today. Amazing figure! Well worth the wait. The head portraits are all incredible. I can't stop looking at this figure. The only issues I had was faint, thin smudges of the skin tone paint on both forearms and the right side of his jacket. Just three little slashes of paint. Easily came off with some Goo-Gone, no biggie.
@zombief-body Would love to see some photos! The proto pics all looked great.
Sure thing. I'll try to work on that tonight. Found the Ultimate M3GAN today at Target too. Nice to have all my big horror wants from NECA nailed on the first day of October.
Did notice a splotch of silver paint on Lee's open left hand on the palm. No doubt from the ring. Not sure how I'm going to tackle that since the skin tone is painted. Might have to mix some paint to cover it up or wait until I find one is stores. Same thing happened to my Max Von Sydow Ming figure. Had to grab a couple until I found one without extra ring paint slop.
Edit:
Not sure how I'm going to tackle that since the skin tone is painted.
Believe it or not, I have had luck in instances like this with just lightly scraping it off with a pen knife. At least it's something you could try now.
@zombief-body I had some weird paint transfer on a NECA Neutrino from the TMNT line. Essentially, it was black paint on top of flesh paint, but I was able to get the black paint off with a dry Magic Eraser sheet just going lightly on it in one direction.
Thanks guys, I'll give those options a try.
Picked up the Ultimate M3gan at Target because of the sale they were having. Wasn't gonna rush out and get her, but I'm getting swept up in the spooky season, and with the sale, I figured why not? Haven't gotten around to opening her yet, but she looks good in package. Definitely gonna go with the battle damaged head, though.
Got M3gan out and about, and she's pretty nice overall. Movement is a biiit hindered by the articulation, especially in the legs (and because of the dress, there's no waist articulaton at all), but she can still hit some good poses. She's a relatively simple figure- the arms and legs are just basic, smooth pieces with some paint on them. The heads also pop off a little too easily- almost any sort of movement get them to pop off the ball joint, so you have to kind hold down while you move her head, but it's not the biggest deal. The hair does effect the range of motion a bit, and I do wish that the 2 basic headsculpts she came with were a bit more varied in the expressions, but since I plan on displaying her with the scarred head, it's not too much a knock.
She can hold the accessories well, and with the damaged head, she looks appropriately imposing. I think they did just about everything they could to make a M3gan figure imposing and feel worth the price with the accessories. I have her with the scarred head, holding the nail gun in one hand and the bloodied paper cutter in the other, and she looks good. She works great as a simple display piece, but if you're looking for a bit more movement, maybe go for the bigger cloth figure (I assume, since I don't have it).
Overall, not as much a mess of a figure as the Nun, but perhaps not as well done or exciting as the Universal Monsters. But I don't regret getting her at all.
Wave 3 of the Ben Cooper kids are up on Neca's store right now. I ordered them yesterday morning.
I went into a Target today that had the whole wave. I'm not collecting this line, but I needed to spend an extra ten bucks to hit that 10 off of 40 promotion they're running so I figured I'd grab a kid Beetlejuice for essentially ten buck. It definitely has a very fragile feel to it between the jumpsuit and the thin limbs, but I'm not going to be posing this thing much. It certainly looks neat and will make for a good Halloween figure to have on display this month.
You know, I've never found them to feel fragile at all. I guess I could see tearing the pleather suit though, if you're not careful. But with all...uh...12 or whatever kids, haven't had any issues yet. The feet sometimes need to be heated up to get the hinge going though.
I got wave 3 from Target just the other day, though. Saw them on the pegs at one other, I think the Alien is the one people are picking up first.
My set actually shipped from NECA already, and FedEx estimates it arriving tomorrow. I actually expect it Monday, but we'll see.
Monday's a holiday, but I can never remember of FedEx observes it or not.
