I too only want the samurai, but he reminds me so much of the Jackal Assassin from the old Samurai Spawn line, I might just have to buy this anyway.
If anyone gets that Iron Maiden set and doesn't want the Somewhere In Time Eddie, I'll be happy to buy it from you.
In addition to Pee Wee and Ernest P Worrell, and Barney Fife, I would love if NECA did a Dumb and Dumber line, both the guys in their normal outfits, their tuxes, even their ski uniforms/winter wear. And I'd also like a deluxe Mrs. Doubtfire figure as well.
Throw Weird Al in there, as well.
Bob Ross, Mr. Rogers, and Steve Irwin...
Some classic Western characters like Clint Eastwood's spaghetti western characters would be neat. Eastwood is iconic enough that he should sell well. But I'd go for just about any Old West characters, as no one seems to make them.

I’m sad the Weird Al retros line seems to have crashed and burned for NECA, I wonder if the audience who turned out for the Simpsons Celebrity figure just didn’t translate to retros or if there were logistical concerns behind the scenes that killed it (oh sure, Lucasfilms smiles and laughs when you make a silly music video that’s essentially promoting their movie, but sell an off brand Jedi figure and the smile goes away real quick and here come the lawyers. Probably the same for every celebrity who’s parody is just ‘Al cosplaying their iconic look’… also how would you even make a fat suit for a Mego?! That was probably the first concept they had and the first they threw away realizing it was impossible. It’s no wonder the only Al variant we got was the extremely generic “White & Nerdy”, but still I would have liked a surgeon Al, there’s a possibility for a real funny toy photography shoot teaming him with surgeon Freddy!)
still I’d love if they revisited Al as an Ultimate using what they learned from ALF and Elvira.
just make Al in different colored Hawaiian shirts, with different face plates (include both a modern and classic head sculpt with each figure!) and load him up with accessories! Food items (Twinkie wiener sandwich: a must! A licensed can of spam would be delightful but a greeked blue can of meat would work just as well), a spatula, a chainsaw, various animal buddies! (Harvey the wonder hamster! A poodle you can sit on his head! A crazed weasel! A rapid wolverine! A baby seal you could club for a better deal!) bring back the ol’ NECA TV and slap a “Weird Al Show” and “AL TV” logo on ‘em! Various models of accordions! And of course little scale vinyl records with his album art on them!
At this point ALF variants feel more like diorama kibble delivery packs than anything else and Weird Al would be perfect filling the same mold!
… also if we’re listing off iconic characters who need figures, I’d like to add on Urkel and Mr.T (I know we have Clubber Lang, but I want Mr. T, with the denim and the gold chains!)
I'm actually wearing a "Weird" Al shirt today. 😆
Yes to Urkel and Mr. T and while we are wishlisting I would give up many things in my collection as sacrifice to the Neca Gods if they will make me a Thelma from Mama's Family.
I would definitely opt for an Urkel (preferably with an Urkel bot to hide in various Dr. Doom / Mad Scientist laboratory backgrounds. Along with an Ultimate Weird Al. Mr. T I think should get made, I just don't know that I'd buy just him unless they did the ENTIRE A-Team. Murdock and his sock puppet are a must.
Sooooo, Alien Romulus...

Yeah I don't understand why pretty much no one is doing western figures, specially in 6". Such an iconic character in american film and there's almost nothing. I would love to see at least Blondie.
I'd love a Val Kilmer Doc Holiday. I think a Gibson Mad Max line could work for NECA. Enough meat on the bones with just Max. Do one for each film. You can do the regular heads, battle-damaged heads, different length hair heads for Thunderdome Max. I know he's a controversial figure but Gibson will always be my Max. Of course I wouldn't say no to a Fury Road Max and Furiosa. However, there are enough wacko warlords in the series to do more than Max. Toecutter, Humungus, Wez, Auntie Entity, Immortan Joe, definitely would want Dementus. NECA could make it epic!
I finally grabbed the Henson Dinosaurs figures. I'm cool with just Earl and Baby but has NECA confirmed the rest of the family?
Repost from the "Toys on sale" thread for those who never check there.
Best Buy is doing the select NECA sale again for the next 16 hours. Mostly the same figures with a couple new additions--still no Candy Girl, though. With all the old fogey talk on the board lately, I figure I might get away with that reference/play on words. 😀
I caved and bought a 2nd Phantom of the Opera so I can display the the mask version (for some reason I find it creepier than his actual distorted face) next to an unmasked one. Now, I just keep on praying for Red Death to complete the collection of Chaney visages from the film. Incidentally, I saved a few more bucks opting for the open-box version to see what BB considers "excellent" condition.
