Yeah, I skipped this preorder as well. There's really no need for it anymore. As KarlSpace pointed out, there's so many retailers selling these now, there's no concern that I won't be able to pick them up near their release date some time in two years or whatever. It's pretty much killed the crazy secondary market as well — which I consider a good thing.

Anyway, I just the saw the Instagram post on the dragon from a couple weeks ago and it's mentioned that it's price tag will be similar to the all-in for a large Mythic wave — "One thing we can offer is that we’ve seen some suggest that the cost of the dragon will be similar to what we’ve historically charged for our larger waves of Mythic Legions figures. That is a good measure to use for planning purposes."

I don't have encyclopedic knowledge of ML wave pricing but I can't remember anything higher than $500, right?

They wont be selling the dragon at conventions or hobby shops right?  We wont be seeing people driving home with it strapped to the roof of their car?

I ended up just preordering a couple of figures from this wave. I really liked the magician with the dragon familiar, have a soft spot for gnolls in D&D, and I really like their human heads so I got the Roman-style soldier. Caved and added the giant lion-man at the end just because I ALWAYS love their catfolk. I do think he's oversized but that's the type of figure even if I quit ML down the line, I'd keep him around to display.

I really LIKE the snake folk but I don't need the whole kit and caboodle at once and I'm willing to take my chances with BBTS. I might've skipped the whole wave but I just happen to be on a ML kick at the moment pulling out and displaying older figures. I think unmasked heads and unique builds are where i'm at from here on out. I find those are the ones I spend hte most time with later.

(I did pick up that exclusive two-pack via BBTS but with something like five unmasked/unhelmeted heads, it not only offers two fun figures but instantly improves five generics, too. Hoping the skin tone matches up with some of the helmeted generic barbarians with at least one of the heads. Wish they'd do one of these with female characters - I'm desperate for 2-3 human/elf generic femme heads to pop onto helmeted figures.)

Can't believe they're sneaking in an in-stock sale in between the latest wave preorder and the dragon, but there's a few things I'll pick up I think. I don't love the brightly colored knight bodies, but I could use the brown or black one for two of the heads from the two-pack I've got coming from BBTS.

Speaking of, I was kicking myself about wanting to do both the orc and the dwarf monk bodies... I might be dumb enough to pick up a spare monk from the in stock sale so i can use both versions if I can come up with the cash.

Don’t miss out on something you’ll die without owning, but if the timing if this in stock sale isn’t working for you, you can probably delay picking figures from the in stock sale until a later date.

I wasn’t willing to pay shipping for just the Green/Orange space suit so I waited and was able to pick it up when the Barbarian Bodies and d20 went up for sale no problem.

Again, if you’ll die without say, a shiny green knight, jump on it! The valiant knight did actually sell out (but I get the feeling that was a special one time thing, not a figure they planned to drag to every show going forward) but the market has cooled considerably on Mythic Legions and the Horsemen do a pretty good job of keeping a decent amount of stock of figures in hand (except Swigg, they got too many of Swigg) so if you’re just like “eh, I wouldn’t mind a snake guy but not for that shipping cost!” just wait and you can probably toss one into your cart before the Spring Figura Obscura and save a little money (but you can’t toss it in with the dragon! No mixing in stock and preorders!)

I'm not 100% sold on the dragon at the cost it'll go for and I went relatively light on the pre-order that just wrapped so I may scoop up 2-3 figures depending on the prices on Monday. I was just saying I need a body for the bearded human head that comes with the G&G two pack that's in my POL with BBTS and the brown generic knight body coming up looks just perfect, stuff like that. I no longer feel like I need EVERYTHING from this line anymore, as pretty as it all is.

I really like that brown knight build too. Just gotta get a different head on there. Not a big fan of the $45 price point for what you get, though. But it is what folks paid at the convention. And they do feature the updated Valiant Knight articulation so ...

Will a grab a snake man or two and cross my fingers that at least a few Skeleton legion builders 2 and Valiant Knights end up for sale as well.

Not sure about the snake men but I'm guessing a few of the knight builds won't last the day Monday.

Yeah, 45 bucks for a generic when the army builders are 26 is... eh. I don't know if I like the brown armored one THAT much.

The snake men though are works of art. Very tempted by those. Definitely going to get at least one of the Cosmic because I actually wanted the stripped down version instead of the deluxe anyway.

I ended up ordering Bassylia even though I was initially going to skip it.   Mostly because it seemed ultimately like the best option for customizing a MOTUC lady Slither.    If Mattel ends up releasing a Masterverse Lady slither, then I can pivot - but for now, that's the plan for her.

I did order one of the Snake Guards as well -  though honestly I preferred the version with legs they showed at the convention and would rather buy those.

I ended up skipping Leodysseus - he's honestly just bigger than I was hoping for.   If he were Brute Size I would have bought him, but Ogre Size is too big for me so I skipped it.

None of the others were appealing enough to order.   The Roman Legion looking soldier was pretty good, but I already bought some of the Xesray Studios Legionaires so didn't feel like I needed more.

And I really don't like the execution on the Hyena figure -  the head is small and sits so far forward, I find the design off putting.

I ended up sitting this wave out because nothing really hit me as a must-have.

I like a lot of the design elements on the snake people, but the stiff, upright pose they used on those tails in order to get the snakes to reach standard head height ultimately put me off. I really like the Legionary armor, but I'd just be swapping it onto one of my skeletons and I've already customized one of my skellies to fit that general look. The hyena would like right at home with my goblins, but my gobbo shelf is already at capacity.

@runestonecowboy the upright tail thing put me off too--I'm a big fan of snake monsters in fantasy (go Yuan-Ti!) but I couldn't tell from any of the images how posable they were. If they showed off any kind of movement or range I might've been more tempted, but I skipped them figuring if I see some amazing review images later on I can hope BBTS has some in stock.

@panthercult I did cave on Leodysseus just because this line's catfolk are my favorites, but you are so right - if he'd been brute sized I wouldn't have even hesitated. It's the beefiness of the figure that weighs him down. a brute? I might just keep him on display forever.

The all in price was so good that I almost bit, but I'm scaling back this year (no pun intended), but I'm also hoping beyond hope I can make the dragon work, though it's doubtful. Ultimately though I'd gladly own any figure from this line, but will cherry pick them eventually once they are out. Really great wave.

The upcoming in-stock sale including Armory Knights is happening this upcoming Monday at 8am PST.  What a weird time to have an in-stock sale.  Monday morning when a good amount of people are going to be working.

Regarding the Armory Knights.  $45 per.  Damn.  These things should be Legion Builders.  They only come with one head too, which is less than typical knight releases.  Yes, they have their rivets painted, which I suppose it part of their higher cost.   I think their high cost is due to them using the relatively new Valiant Knight updated body.   They're essentially putting a surcharge on that body.

Legion Builder knights in basic colors would have been so much better.  Just basic colors.  To use as complete figures or cheap enough to customize with bits from other figures.  Seems like it would have been easier for them to coordinate/make for their armory even at Legion Con.  They didn't need the extra paint.

All that griping aside, I want the green knight.  The one with the bucket head is more appealing to me, as the Gorgo head is just overused and a bit small as well.  I'm tempted by the red knights just to fill out my evil knight forces.  And maybe the steel knight.  The $45 pricepoint is even higher than the Valiant Knight who I also thought was at an overpriced $37 pricepoint.

I find myself going back and forth for these armory knights. I have two Valiant knights, and it's pretty easy to paint match them so I can add whichever helmets or pauldrons I like to upgrade their look from my stash of parts I already have, but there's something to these new colors that is pretty tempting. Plus, in a month or two we'll have Necronominus so that should temper my knight cravings, right? Sigh...

I'd love to get the gunmetal grey, but my problem is that it would take all three of them to make the one look I'd like to have. Now I can use the brown leather body for the upcoming zombie 1.5 pack to make it into a two pack, so those parts are sorted, and that would leave me with some nice black leather parts for customizing.

Ok, so mid comment I went to peruse the Cabal to see if anyone had posted the color difference with the Armory knights and Valiant, and voila:

This is not making easier. The Valiant and the Gunmetal and the purple-grey are all so close.

I know I'm in for a Ninian Infantry and the Boba Fett inspired Cosmic guy. But it's going to be a lot of back and forth over the weekend as I justify some Armory knights...

I learned a new term today: JOMO : Joy Of Missing Out.  I think that's where I'll be come Monday morning.
