The entire new wave is pretty tempting. Might want to go all in. The Snakemen and Roman-style soldiers look particularly cool.
The dragon looks amazing!
I am definitely getting The Lion and probably the Snake Sorceress (I forget their names.) I'm glad Jeremy pointed out that the crown isn't an optional part for the Lion, which is a shame, I would 100% display him without it. But good to know and I appreciate the transparency.
That dragon is incredible. Holy smokes. I know I want it, but I have reservations beyond price. I'm a little afraid that in spite of the articulation, that this thing will mostly be a statue. I want to see it in an action pose to check the range. Points of articulation don't mean anything unless they offer range. And I'm also a little afraid of QC. My moose's head has come loose because the weight of the head caused a joint socket to stretch. Very very excited though, beautiful piece. Really looking forward to the campaign to launch, and I might just need to sell off some other figs so I can pick it up.
Also, excited about these 3.0 double joints and looking forward to how they factor into the line going forward. Props to the Horsemen for listening to customer feedback. I know they were reluctant because they didn't want to violate their aesthetic or the pop and swap features. But it's great to see a company grow and evolve and make a better product as time goes by, instead of mocking fans that provide critiques.

Same. I loved the ogre-sized figures when I first saw them, but once I saw a review they're more statue than action figure and I was very quickly out on them. Hopefully they show off the articulation a bit better than the con videos I've seen so far because there's no way I'm spending space on a dragon that barely moves. The way the tail curls is surprisingly good though, and I'm hoping they've built more articulation into the other joints than they usually do on large figures.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. I really, really wanted that moose figure for months leading up to its release, but declined for this EXACT reason. The 4H articulation and paint is amazing, but everything I've seen from their engineering and QC is inferior to every other toy company I buy.
I rarely post in this thread, but I'm a huge medieval fantasy fan. Tolkien, GRR Martin, and others, but more than that I played Ultima Online from its launch until around 2002, and I've been playing World of Warcraft daily since it released in 2005. I'm all in on the first really, really good dragon, and I'm hoping this one or the Creative Beast dragons will fit that bill--but I'm skeptical of both due to inferior engineering design and QC from both companies. Hoping for the best though, and so far I generally like what I see from the dragon other than the single-piece wings.
My guess on the wings is that the hinges are always very ugly.
Isn't that true of ANY point of articulation? Are wing hinges or swivels really any worse than knees, elbow, necks, etc?
But I suspect you're right, and I'm not sure why, specifically, so if anyone can describe the particular issue with wing joints please do share. Mafex didn't hinge their Wonder Woman 84 wings, and Hasbro skipped it on their forthcoming Dragon Man. I like it on all of the Marvel Legends winged characters though--Sauron, Archangel and Angel, King in Black Venom, MCU Vulture, multiple Falcon figures, etc--so I don't really see the issue. But I acknowledge there must be one since designers I respect often skip it.

Might be due to stability too. With a heavy appendage like a wing extending weight at a distance from the joint, a wing may be more prone to causing lateral stress on the joint and joint looseness over time. Maybe moreso than for a leg or arm, which trend shorter and may also have thicker, stronger joints.
Outside of a headpack, I haven't placed a pre-order since the Necronominus wave, which is going on 2 years ago and we still don't have the figures. I may pre-order these and the dragon though, just to prevent any hikes in price due to future tariff's.
And because they can't help themselves, a second version of the snake man that will be available this weekend at Legions Con.
Just coming to post this. That looks great.
Man, I never gave much serious thought to attending Legions Con this year but I'm only about 350 miles away and could get there in about 5 hours if I left at like 3 a.m. Sunday morning. I bet they have a ton of v2 skeletons, too ...
The higher end speculation of the full dimensions of the dragon... Man, I DESPERATELY want a dragon at this scale, but for once I think I gotta let common sense win out. It's one of those dream things I can't do unless I strike it rich. I want a 1:12 scale Millennium Falcon too but the house is only so big and there's only so much money.
I mean if they surprise us and it's shockingly reasonably priced I might talk myself into it, I won't lie. Like, I talked myself into Galactus not because of scale but because I did the whole "Okay if XYZ included figures are 22 bucks each, then I'm REALLY paying for him, not Y." But I didn't back the Haslab Ghost because it's the size of a coffee table.
And I share some of the engineering concerns folks have brought up here. Some of their heavier figures just fell apart in my hands coming out of the package lately. It's frustrating when a $40 figure does that, but if the toy is $400+... oof.
After the excitement has died down re the dragon, I'm about 30% in favour of buying it. I really don't have the space, but it's very likely that it will go up in price by the time it's released, so is it worth buying one and paying shipping, to really enjoy playing with a huge dragon toy for a few months, before letting it go? Or even losing some money, but is it worth $50 or $100 to get to play this dang thing? Maybe.
They're going to make more, and I believe they talked about dragon mounts, so there will be smaller dragons down the line, but who knows how long they'll take, and what they might look like..
I guess it'll really come down to price.
Y'know, the funny thing is if they put out a dragon mount that's like, double the size of the moose? I'd buy it in a New York minute. It'd STILL be alarmingly big but I would make a home for it without hesitation. I'm curious how the most hardcore 4H / ML buyers are feeling about this. It almost feels like they went too balls-to-the-walls. But maybe I'm wrong. I'm not the biggest ML buyer out there but I definitely buy an irresponsible number, like, "I have regerts" numbers, and even I'm feeling a lil overwhelmed by it. Totally get it if I'm an outlier though.
Also really digging this one without the armor: https://twitter.com/toybroreviews/status/1855275296116650174
Waiting to see what the Figura Obscura is for the year before ordering any of these. They all look masterfully sculpted and I like the colors of the snake folk a lot. However, I'm not cultivating the animal-related figures, as cool as they may look. My faves are the rattlesnake and the hyena though. Only really tempted by the Roman guard guy and getting some unmasked heads for my knights and the few gladiators I have. The prices they do just keep going up though. May have to see what BBTS has these for, given I'm really only looking at one figure.

I wonder the same. Maybe this is just copium in hopes of a smaller release down the line, but I honestly have no idea where people put stuff this big. Especially for those who own something massive, like Unicron, the Sail Barge, or Mattel's giant He-Man castle (Castle Greyskull?).
I live in a 1,200 sq. ft. house. My toys occupy the smallest room in the house. This dragon is basically a non-starter unless I were to make it the focus of my entire collection.
Are projects like this just serving the whales?
