Had to pass on this for now, but will likely get the retail variant if they do one. Just too strapped for cash at the moment, but this is an incredible looking figure. I love the focus on classic literary monsters the 4H have done with this line, and I'll echo everyone who is clamoring for them to do a Dracula next! A Stoker accurate Dracula has long been a dream figure for me, so the idea that it is at least possible is exciting.

Got my shipping notice that my all-in Frankenstein shipped. To my surprise it wasn’t just a ‘label created’ status. Apparently it shipped much earlier and will be delivered tomorrow! Not sure why such a delay in notifying me but I’m happy to not have to wait much longer.

Got my shipping notice as well for my figure.

I only complained in jest, because I'm used to the delays by now.

Should be here on Monday.

Guesses as to the new figure going on sale tomorrow?

”Rise and walk with me to a new Figura Obscura…”

A spectral Ghost of Christmas Future?

The key is in the key, and the clock in the clock tower turning one o’clock in the morning.

I’m surprised they’re doing a sequel. It’s Ghost of Past and the second female Figura Obscura. It’s a fitting tribute for looking back on this anniversary year.

Ghost of Christmas present is what I’ve read the quote comes from. Could be. Could be a two pack with the fellow to walk with as the 4H likes getting $120+ from us each time they do these exclusives.

Long shot Ghost of Christmas Future since Necronomicus wave is coming soon.

We’ll see.

Thwipp!

It’s definitely at least the Ghost of Christmas Past, really not that surprising given Marley’s booklet was Stave 1 of 5 and said more would be coming soon. This one ought to be interesting as the depiction of this ghost is all over the place. Usually small, slightly built (often female), and depicted almost like a living candle or flame. If they stick with that, I could see this being a multipack with Scrooge or at least include some decently sized diorama pieces.

It would be an interesting approach if each of the ghosts came with a depiction of Scrooge at the age they’re visiting. Young Scrooge with this ghost, present Scrooge, and then a dead Scrooge. Probably not likely. I really would expect 2 Scrooges at most - bedclothes and formal attire.

Stave 5 still remains the most interesting to tackle as that’s the morning after the ghosts are done and he’s changed his ways. That’s the most logical point at making a Scrooge figure. Not sure how well one would sell if they include one with this ghost so I’m inclined to think this will just be a single figure.

Good points.

I did not know the 1 of 5 reference with Marley. Should be an interesting reveal tomorrow.

Thwipp!

Well, it only said Stave 1 but there are 5 staves in the complete story. So a bit reading between the lines on my part but there is a tease of more to come at the end. The 4 ghosts each have their own stave and the final one is the morning after. The last one seems the logical place to make Scrooge as there’s no ghost for the final part. And after having the 4 ghosts I think many would be wanting Scrooge at that point.

I brushed up on the book’s description of the Ghost of Christmas Past today and this is going to be an interesting figure. The ghost’s appearance is constantly shifting. Young to old, wintery themes to summer flowers on its clothing. I’m expecting a few swap outs now. This is the ghost that seems to differ most adaption to adaption so the Horseman can really let their creativity shine as they don’t have as clear reference points they need to hit like with Marley, Present, and Past. This one they can really make their own. It will be interesting if this is well received or polarizing.

She's just not doing anything for me. The fact that I've always hated the sculpt and (lack of) articulation on those female arms doesn't help. Especially since she has 4 of them. Pretty easy pass, unfortunately.

For some reason this really works for me. It has beauty with a slight bit of edge to it. It strikes me as the feelings you would have around a spector. I bought this and will backtrack to get Jacob Marley now. I’m surprised there’s a sequel. Look forward to how they interpret Present and Future. Also will they make Scrooge?

Thwipp!

I think it looks really cool. Seeing it makes me want a Kali figure really bad though. To go with the Hanuman. (I know different line; but really is it?) Also convinces me they really need to go head on into the Greek pantheon.

The lamp post is a cool accessory. I don't need any merch from A Christmas Carol, though.

Characters with more than 2 arms rarely do it for me, at least the more human ones. I love General Grievous (even if I do prefer him with 2 arms), but more human ones like Spiral just look wrong to me. Not sure why- I know it's all fiction, but to me, additional limbs feel at home on something more monstrous. So while I'm not super wowed by that aspect of the design, I do commend them for going full Horsemen and doing something new. I really dig the crown made of candles and flames though, and that lamppost is a super cool accessory. I'm a little tempted by the line- I love Christmas, and I've always had a soft spot for Christmas Carol and its different interpretations, but not sure if I can/should get into yet another money drain. Not to mention it'll be a couple years before the whole thing is complete; I'll continue watching and admiring from afar. Looking forward to their designs for the other ghosts, though. If I like Christmas Future enough, and it's a good enough standalone figure, I may snag that for my spooky display.
