@runestonecowboy ah ok. Yeah, even if you just pop in for a few minutes to chat with them I say go for it. Really friendly and I could have chatted with them for hours but didn’t want to be ‘that guy’ they’re hoping will eventually go away haha!

Well... The Creature was an easy pass right up until I just bought him. 🤣 I have cut so far back on figures this year that I was going to get the Christmas Figura Obscura and that was gonna be it for the rest of 2024 (unless McFarlane Reeve figures show up). But they got me. It's the kick-off of the holiday season. Might as well celebrate!

Frankenstein’s Creature is a Christmas figure.

Book ends (and starts) in the Arctic (spoilers)

There is absolutely nothing in the book that says the Creature, Adam as his friends call him, didn’t make it all the way to the North Pole where he met Father Christmas, Santa as his friends call him, and learned the true meaning of the Holiday.

Well that gives me a reason to keep him up until January. 😁

Yeah, I’ve never much cared that the name is used interchangeably. If Victor created him, that would technically make him his son, so he’d also theoretically have the surname of Frankenstein. I think the first name of the creature is more debatable with many going with Adam for the Biblical first man connection.

Went by the Four Horsemen booth again today and they seemed to have sold out of Frankenstein and many other figures. Decided to pick up a pair of vampires they had. (I’m itching for a proper Dracula now!) Wouldn’t be surprised to see them completely cleaned out tomorrow. Glad it’s been a successful show for them.

If anyone has more conversations with any Four Horsemen, can they stress that they need to get more skeletons up on on store site? I want so many more than the two I grabbed from the sale.

Any guesses what the rerelease color might be? I assume green is off the table. 😆

I received my Creature today & he is awesome!  Really enjoy this release.  HOWEVER, to design a figure where popping apart the balljointed waist is a feature, then releasing it where that joint is so tight you cannot pop it apart without heating it up significantly is kinda ridiculous.  I'm going to need to make up my mind on which look I want him to permanently sport, because I don't feel very comfortable pulling him apart at that joint.

@fuzzybluedemon I haven't tried to pop mine apart yet, but it's interesting if that's an issue because I've had other figures just pop apart at the waist if I pick them up by the shoulders to move them, so it sounds like they're struggling a bit to find a middle ground so it's easy to swap parts but not make them so loose they have no stability. I feel like that's been an issue across their lines more and more lately, just getting the dimensions perfect so you can swap comfortably, or not.

I definitely plan on keeping the monster pant'ed permanently but I also don't love frequently swapping the hands on 4H stuff. Those little wrist nubs make me nervous.

@docsilence the Mythic Legions I always had trouble piping apart generally had the big plug joint, without much to actually plug.  This guy has a massive ball joint on the end of a barbell, which sinks pretty deep into the torso.  Moves really well.  But I swapped it one time, then switched back to the pants & his torso joint is now a bobblehead...  So I'm gonna have to give him a good hot bath & hope that socket shrinks back down & becomes stable again.

@fuzzybluedemon I'm actually doing the same with the wrist joint of my favorite Mythic Legions tomorrow because his left wrist is wobbly after a hand swap. This line is unbeatable for its level of detail but some of the engineering bits make me anxious. I'm leaving the Monster in his pants but haven't taken him out of the box yet (was in my plans for tomorrow).

I ordered 2 figures from CMD store late Thursday night, which have already shipped, yet I'm still waiting on any kind of update on the status of my Creature shipping from the 4H from last week.

I'm used to it with these guys at this point, but it's still funny how some places that aren't Amazon can still get things shipped within a few days.

Preordering is one thing, which is why I don't generally preorder from them directly. This was an in stock item, and it seems every time one or 2 of them go to a Con, shipping seems to take a bit of a hit, even when they have a warehouse "team" to handle the packing and shipping.

I know the last one they did, took about 2 weeks to ship for me, so we'll see what this week brings for my order.

They stated on one of their posts for the Creature that it could take up to 3 weeks to ship.
