The Horsemen will be at my local con next weekend so there is a decent chance I’d be able to purchase one in person before my all in order would even arrive! 😆
@prophet you’re right that the key is likely a clue but everything else does seem to point towards Frankenstein rather than a Ben Franklin, although I wouldn’t mind seeing one some day.
It will be interesting to see if they go with shredded clothing to show off more muscles and stitches or if he’s mostly clothed like a Karloff Frankenstein. He could also be on one of the larger bucks too. Literary horror now seems to be the definitive theme of the Halloween release. Dracula must be on the short list of future releases.
Franklinstein's Monster! My bet is it'll have option parts to do both Benjamin and the monster.
That would be an interesting combination and very out of left field. If that’s the case, it might make it easier for me to buy one all in set and then pick up another figure only at the con next weekend to be able to display both haha.
If it's Frank then that's pretty interesting. If it's Ben then that'll be an easy pass lol.

My first thought was Ben Franklin which made me laugh to myself. I wouldn't want it, but I'd have to admire their bravery in doing such a figure. A Frankenstein does nothing for me though. I feel like there's plenty of Frankenstein figures these days that someone else taking a turn doesn't warrant my attention. Cool for those who do want such a thing. I will continue to wait and see what they have in store for Christmas.
The Figura Obscura logo has a key so I think it's pretty safe to assume this will be Frankenstein's monster or possibly a two-pack with Frankenstein AND his monster, although I had a great laugh at the Ben Franklinstein pun.
I'm honestly surprised they chose a character that already has so much representation in the toy medium because while I'm a nerd for classic literature, I'm keenly aware that most people aren't. I think when it really comes down to voting with your wallet, most people are going to opt for a toy that looks like Boris Karloff, even if they've never seen the 1931 Universal Pictures movie.
That being said, I have room for one more monster on my Mythic shelf and if Frank's monster doesn't go hard on the Regency era clothes and looks more like a big-ass flesh golem from an indistinct time period, he might look right at home next to my Krampus and Red Death.
As a side note, if you haven't read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein or seen James Whale's 1931 movie, both are truly excellent, although they tell the story in radically different ways. Shelley's book is considered the first science fiction novel and Whale's movie is full of really fun Expressionist sets and shots.
My original thought was Thor, to go with their upcoming Viking based wave. But then I remembered it's Halloween, so Frankenstein is likely. Can't think of any other Halloween creature associated with lightning.
Never was into Frankenstein, easily my least favorite of the witch, werewolf, vampire, ghost, mummy classic trick or treat lineup. But still curious to see what they do. If anyone could get me to buy a Frankenstein's monster, it's 4H.
I agree that it is likely Frankenstein's Monster. Now the question is to get this initial release or wait for one that will be released to other retailers...
@sephiroth61787 it’s never a guarantee they’re doing a retailer version. Thus far all pre-2024 FO figures have gotten one but it would be at least a year before a potential variant ships.
Anything that glows in the dark is inherently "better." Hopefully it actually LOOKS like Frankenstein's Monster and isn't just Legions parts cobbled together into some sort of plastic homunculus without he flat top and neck bolts.
I think I'm passing. I have the Neca Frankenstein as a representation of the character and don't really need to double dip. It isn't sold out yet, which if I remember correctly all the other FO releases sold out very quickly in the morning drop. There's just nothing about this that screams "must have" for me.
That's hell of lot of really useful accessories. There might be reuse in the hands and feet, but otherwise it looks completely new. The stitching detail looks awesome. This is an easy buy.

I do realize that. It’s a gamble!
I find it hard to believe they won’t do a green variant. The pin they’re releasing looks greenish. This is book accurate though and I do wish they had the flattop head with bolts.
