Yeah, I'd much rather have the option to buy separately — but I'd go the other way and grab Anubis.

They do look great and I really like the accessories (and the non-human feet!) but I don't think I'm up for dropping $150 for the set.

They're nice, but they don't fit my collection. I was anxious that they might release a mummy figure and I'd be tempted to replace the 4H-designed Mumm-Ra I use as a mage in my skeleton legion.

As per usual, beautiful looking figures. That Anubis open mouth head is great. But, they don't really feel like anything I really need. In Dorklair's review, it's great to see that the skin tones match the other dark skin tone figures, so it's great to see them zeroing on some standard coloration across all the lines. So, makes these almost more valuable for customizers/pop&swappers.

If it was just Anubis with the basic staff, extra head and hands, for their normal figure price, I could be interested. But paying for the two pack and a ton of "live-in-a-bin" accessories I'll never display or think about except the day I open the figure, these are a pass for me.

Really have wanted them to branch into classical representations of ancient god pantheons for some time, so these excite me. While Egyptian probably sits as #3 pantheon I want gods of (Hindi being #1 and Greek #2) these were insta orders. Hope they are successful and they branch out into those other pantheons I want.

I get my #1 pantheon (Hindi) is a little more complicated since they are still worshiped by 3/4 of a billion people. However these representations are very respectful and it isn’t like representations of the Hindi gods aren’t constantly encouraged.

This set is all the way up my alley, no hesitation in buying it.  I just hope they can give us a few more Egyptian deities to go with them!  Really glad they included the human feet option, as they're generally depicted as animal heads on human bodies.

Weirdly not feeling these despite my usual love for Egyptian god stuff. But hey, crazy amount of cool accessories. If it's your deal then it seems like you're getting a boatload of goodies. I do hope we get more gods though. Personally I'd like some Norse deities, or even some Mesoamerican stuff. Still wondering when we're going to get a Dracula from them, because it must be coming.

Was really hoping for a mummy but I suppose that could always be for a Halloween release. Seems like a retailer variant of these would be all black skin like TBLeague did with their line of Egyptian gods. The goodies are what sold me on this set. Just like Jacob Marley these kind of insinuate we could be getting additional figures and a sort of sub-line. It also establishes multiple figures at once so we could see the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come this year rather than over the next three. Or maybe sneak Scrooge in with one of those ghost and still have them over the next few years.

I've been hit or miss with Figura Obscura, but I do love ancient gods as a theme so I caved adn picked them up during the evening release. The fact that I forgot about them and still had a chance to buy at 9:30 EST has me thinking it won't be their biggest seller yet but I reckon they'll look cool as a building mythology shelf with Monkey King. The accessories are stacked, in any event.

@docsilence even a surprise drop of one figure doesn’t work for everyone’s budget, let alone 2 figures just after their blind box mythic legions sale. Not the best timing or planning IMO. $120+ with less than 24 hours notice is probably going to lead to slower sales than a single figure would have.

I'm grateful there's nothing about this that I need.  The detail on the accessories impresses me more than anything.  The Horsemen definitely put a lot of care and thought into giving their figures an ambiance about them, but Egyptian stuff isn't really my thing.  The accessories would look good around a Universal Mummy, or in my case Mummy Michelangelo from TMNT Universal Monsters.  Sometimes money saved from not wanting something is a huge relief.

I’m tempted, but I would have been more likely to buy it if it was just Anubis for a more normal price.

@buttmunch Yeah. I was actually planning on skipping it when I thought it was a mummy for sure, but I've also skipped the last three Obscuras so I could justify picking this one up. I'm being pickier with 4H stuff lately anyway - running out of room and the preorders are often so far in advance I forget what I've ordered. I nearly balked entirely at the price on this one, but it just hit a very specific theme I like with both Anubis and Bast.

I will say paying $10 flat once for two figures instead of $17 twice if they'd done these two in separate releases was a small upside.

And wow, you're right - I forgot they JUST did the blind box. I skipped that entirely. I don't even like scratch tickets, let alone paying that much for a blind box action figure I might already have.

I missed the initial drop because I woke up a couple hours after it went live (thanks, Pacific Time Zone) and then waffled on the price and number of accessories. Once the first drop sold out, I came to my senses and jumped on the second drop the minute it went live. Bastet doesn't fit my mind's eye vision of the God, so I'm not sure I'll hang on to her. Anubis was a must-have, though. He'll be my first Four Horsemen figure.

Somehow, I checked out at about 8:03 p.m. ET and still missed the coffee mug. That was a bummer.

I don't think I'll win any friends with this comment, but I completely agree. I've always been a "I won't complain about extra accessories" guy, but that thought originated when companies gave us the bare minimum and there were no third-party customizers. Now I have more accessories than I know what to do with. I wish they had made the Anubis shrine and cat statue available as an add-on item instead.

One of my last big toy wants is figures from the Greek, Egyptian, and Norse pantheons. There are so many important characters in those pantheons that I couldn't justify supporting the entire line, but I'd love to have at least one major representative from each pantheon on my shelf. Figura Obscura could be the perfect avenue for that.

With Anubis and Bastet, the Egyptian Gods are covered. (I'd still throw down for a sick-looking winged Horus figure, though.) Odin, Baldur, Thor, Loki, or Freya would satisfy my need for a (non-Marvel-ified) Norse God. Greek mythology is some of my favorite storytelling, period, so that would be trickier. Even though I have a small collection, I'd buy Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Athena, Artemis, and Aphrodite without a second thought.

After this set, they're definitely doing a Thor/Loki two-pack at some point, right?

I tend to gravitate more towards 4H’s Figura Obscura line than their Mythic Legions, which tends to be repeats and repaints of the same stuff over and over. These one offs are just what I like, and often executed so well. It’s also an opportunity for me to learn more about these mythic gods and characters. I ordered Anubis and Bastet almost blindly. Paid the full price without having even seen the accessories. I too hope to see more gods and creatures from other cultures.
