I have already asked, we'll see.
Thanks. I sincerely hope the scabbard fits Gandalf. Because Gandalf the White is awesome with a sword in the movie.
Oooh, nice little tease for series 9. My money is on Black Gates/Coronation Aragorn.
Would love to start seeing some ladies in the line. Hoping for Arwen in 8, myself.
Yeah, my money's also on Aragorn for the redo in a different costume.
Gandalf appears to have a belt loop for his sheath. I don't see the sword though. Likenesses are great! Gandalf's face shading is too strong, and his hair should match his white beard, but the likeness is there (and paint can always be fixed before production). Merry and Pippin seem to share the legs, which is smart reuse, but everything else seems to be unique for each, that's really nice!
Saruman looks awesome, and I like that he and Gandalf have different shades of white clothing. Sam being shown without his cloak worries me a bit but that might just have been the fault of whoever put the figures for display, maybe they forgot to add Sam's cloak.
Gandalf has slits in his skirt, so he'll be able to move better. I'm not sure what that effect piece is, probably for Gandalf's staff, but I don't see how it would attach to it.
Overall these look great, I can't wait to get them!
Isn't Sam not coming with his cloak? But the good news is you can probably buy an extra Merry/Pippin set, keep their cloaks and sell the uncloaked duo on Ebay!
I like that Merry has an expression, with the eyebrow raised. Or, at least, appears to have. To this day, 23 years later, I still want to call Merry Pippin. They look like they should have the opposite names!
Arwen, Galadriel and Eowyn, please! 🙂
That sculpt for Pippin looks especially great.
the accessories for the figures are scattered all over the place, so I would not be worried about Sam not having his cloak.
based on what we know/has been teased here is my guess for series 8 and 9.
8: Eowyn and the Witch King
9: Black gate Aragorn and Mordor Orc
we also know that some Hobbit figures were in the mix and some stage of development, so to throw out a wild guess that we may see Bilbo and Thorin as SDCC 2024 exclusives just to test the waters for more Hobbit characters.
I can’t believe we are seriously at wave 9 and beyond, great work DST, I hope we get to series 20 and beyond!
Gandalf's hair is blonder than his white beard in the movie. Maybe not to this extent, but it's there. I'd post a pic, but I don't know how to do it in the new forum.
And yes, I see now he has a sword loop. Not sure about the scabbard.
As far as I know Sam still comes with his cloak, not sure if he can wear both at the same time, but we'll see.
Gandalf the White might not have a scabbard? It would be really ridiculous to not have a scabbard. I think you should cut out the alternative hands or any other accessories beyond the main body and staff to make sure the Glamdring and its scabbard.
Please, you must keep Glamdring and its scabbard, staff and his cloak. You can keep those accessories by cutting interchangeable hands and other accessories other than the grip hands. You guys could also make the cape a little narrower, since looking at the upper parts of the cape in the pictures would restrict the arms articulation.
Please, I love Gandalf the White, and the Glamdring and its scabbard and staff are Gandalf's most obvious features in the movie, and cutting any of them would make the figure suck.Ugh, it's so awful to hear that the scabbard might not be there.

Just post the link by itself, no tags necessary.
Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I've had a closer look at the picture of Gandalf the White and I've noticed on the sheath belt, that there's a loop on it which looks like you can slide the sheath through it. Akin to NECA's Dungeons & Dragons Strongheart figure. There's a sword sheath in front of Saruman as well which is obscured by the Saruman card. Could that be the sheath for Glamdring?

I meant I am not sure why the Glamdring and scabbard were not at the show. It looks like Gandalf will come with both in the internal photos I have seen, which makes sense, because we already made them for the first figure.
His hair and beard are a little two-tone. May just be as close as they could get in makeup.

To paraphrase Gandalf, "A wizard's hair is never incorrectly colored. He dyes it precisely as he means to."

Does that mean the final product of Gandalf the White will come with the Glamdring and scabbard?
