@jtmarsh I just don't understand what Ad Populum is getting out of the purchase. I get that they could have had no intention of keeping parts of the Diamond umbrella going, but I don't understand what value they are getting from letting it all fail. I understand the scenario where they bought all 3(?) companies even though they were really only interested in one or one part of one because the companies were sold as a package. Then they would close the ones they're not interested in. Maybe they were expecting the distribution stuff to go better than it has so far? I assume they are more deliberate in their actions, though.
Is there a value in letting a company close? Maybe they are expecting the products they now own in the warehouse will sell for more than the $17 million they paid? I guess there could be over that much in merchandise that they now own.
I don't know much about other bankruptcies, but this one seems incredibly messy.
I saw at SDCC somebody is doing figures or statues (I couldn’t tell) based off the animated hobbit.
As of right now, BBTS is telling me they expect to get all the LOTR figures they have up for PO. I really doubt this, but thought I would let people know.
