Pixel Dan's DST booth tour is up on YouTube. He briefly shows the new Merry, Pippin, and Gandalf the White figures! From the brief glimpse, they all look great. Merry and Pippin are in their elvin cloaks.
Great! Can’t wait to see the pics myself and hopefully we can find out who is in wave 8.
I hope there is a way to get the cloaks for the rest of the fellowship. I generally pick up two of the fellowship members so I can use the cloak from the 2nd Boromir with Aragorn and whenever Sam comes out I can use one of them for Frodo possibly but Legolas will need one made specifically for him. Gimli might as well depending on how Sam’s comes out.
Wow Gandalf looks amazing!
how in the world did they manage to get Merry and Pippin in a 2-pack and keep the normal MSRP?!
The Hobbits look so great!! I need to see more pics of Gandalf before I preorder though. His head looks a little square, I guess, but it might just be the angle.
After looking at the pictures of Gandalf the White I highly recommend attaching the Glamdring scabbard to the figure. The figure is great, but hopefully not like Boromir's scabbard.
Wave 7 looks great! I don't really need Merry and Pippin to come with much- maybe a sword each and a piece of Lembas, and I'll be happy.
Gandalf is a nice welcome surprise too! He looks really good. Can't wait to see him with his sword and staff. One thing I did notice is the different color between his hair and beard; I'm sure that's just a prototype thing and will be fixed before the final product.
Nice to see Sam and Saruman in there as well to see how they all look together. Interesting to see Sam without his cloak, though. I hope the backpack won't hinder him being able to wear it. Backpack over the cloak is definitely my preferred Sam display.
Surprised by how much I liked the Cave Troll, too. I'm more preferable to articulated figures, but I'm a sucker for a good dynamic pose too. Was hard to tell from the video just how exactly it scales to the other figures; I know it won't be exactly like in the movie, but as long as it's comparable, I'll definitely consider picking it up, especially if it helps the longevity of the line.
Troll should be about 11.75 inches tall in final form. So even hunched over he'll tower over the 7-inch figures, and I think they'll look good dodging his hammer and jumping on his back to shoot him in the head. I can't wait!
@msword Will Glamdring's scabbard be attached to Gandalf the White's main body?

They're half a figure each anyway.
All 3 new figures look incredible. Hobbits bring some much needed color to the group and are finishing the team. I'm not surprised at all that Gandalf the White is showing up so early in the line (with a magic effect to boot), I've said it before the Snap that if we were to get only one character redo it'd have to be him. But once I get Merry and Pippin, I'm not sure where I'll stand with buying future figures. At the moment I feel like I'm happy with the Fellowship + baddies (I skipped the first Uruk Hai because I didn't want to army build and double dip with Lurtz). I've already preordered Saruman as well. We'll see what comes in the future but I'm assuming we'll be seeing looks from later movies or battle scenes for the heroes and new villains.
Man, I wasn't expecting Gandalf the White that soon, but he looks great! And so do Merry and Pippin!
And in response to Shinigami Customs, there's still PLENTY of characters left to do that any decent LotR fan will find essential to their collection. I made the following list some months ago, and it follows the "good guy/bad guy" plan we've been seeing (tho I don't know if it still applies):
Arwen / Mordor Orc
Eomer / Grishnakh
Theoden / Dunlending
Eowyn / Grima
Faramir / Haradrim warrior
Elrond / King of the Dead
Denethor / Gothmog
Gandalf the White / Witch King
Gondor soldier / Mouth of Sauron
Galadriel / Rhûn soldier
They don't have any particular order but there they are. There are still some that I didn't include but are also important, like Haldir, a Noldor elven warrior, and bigger statues like Treebeard and Shelob. I personally want to support this line (I'm waiting for that Cave Troll preorder) and see it go as far as possible, with The Hobbit figures also included in the future.
Does anyone have actual photos of the figures? Toyark didn't upload any today, they were my main source. I haven't found any on instagram either.
@shinigami-customs I would like to see another take on Aragorn and Legolas; a helm's deep version of Aragorn (lots of reuse) but pretty much a full redo of Legolas with double jointed elbows and better legs, his lothlorien cape plus some Rohan armor (maybe legolas' torso can be reused?).
Apart form that, we need Arwen (preferably from the riding scene), Galadriel, Eowyn (preferably from the battle at pelennor fields), the Witch-king (would be a great opportunity to offer a better designed ringwraith without the sleeve issue), Pelennor fields Aragorn, King Theoden, Eomer, Faramir, maybe a Gondorian soldier and more orcs of course... Now I don't think we're gonna be getting all of these, but as many as possible would be nice.
That's without mentioning The Hobbit! (or the Shadow of Mordor games which I will still campaign for at least a Talion!).
Finally, found some pics...

Still the best picture of the Troll I can find 😬

I have already asked, we'll see.
Here are some smallish pics of Merry and Pippin, slide 8:
No plans to re-do Legolas, at least not at present. Luckily, the first one is great!

We do have one character repeat, in a different outfit, slated for Series 9, but the other three in Series 8 and 9 are new, unique characters.
