Treebeard would be awesome! I'm curious the cost, though. Is the Giant-man Haslab price of $200 a good comparison? Or, are quantities and other factors so different that it isn't comparable?
I am not sure what the price is on the Cave Troll yet. Our larger "Deluxe" PVC Dioramas are $125, but this one might break that level. I should know soon. Not sure you can do a direct comparison with a 24" articulated figure, but it might end up in the same ballpark. We'll have to see.
Looks like we are getting a look at the next two(?) waves at the end of the month!
In addition to DST’s detailed Gallery Dioramas of the main characters and creatures from the smash hit film series, the popular line of LOTR action figures continues with more members of the Fellowship, and more of their evilest foes!

Can't wait! Wonder who the foes will be. We've gotten most of the big named ones. I suppose Grishnakh would make sense if paired with Merry or Pippin. Would LOVE a Wormtongue to go with Saruman and the hopeful eventual Theoden. Wouldn't turn down a Witch King, but I think Wormtongue would take precedence for me.
Hey MSWord, in honor of it being Hobbit day today, any chance you could give us a tease of the new waves?
They're Hobbits!
Got in my Boromir and Lurtz from BBTS.
I remember the discussion regarding Borimir’s dagger & sheath. So perplexing. The shield only having a weird thin handle in the center is so odd. Guess I’ll have to create some straps for it.
Lurtz. I feel like his torso could be thicker. He feels a bit too slim. Still, a nice sculpt. How is one supposed to attach the quiver? I think it’s supposed to go around the waist, but how does one attach it? I assume you have to either pop the figure apart at the chest or remove a leg. Has anyone done this?
So both figures are nice. Good sculpts. Ok articulation. Some baffling accessory executions.

I did what someone else suggested and squeezed his legs together and shimmied it up to around his torso. Took some time, and there were points where I thought it might snap. Getting it over his loincloth thingy was a little tricky, but I got it eventually. Definitely an odd way to incorporate it, but hey, at least we got it at all, right?
Got the two dudes. I'm just gonna echo what everyone else said already - nice articulation, weird choices with Boromir, Lurtz being particularly awesome etc. But I really hate that I have to put some work into these to work properly what with the sheath and shield for Boromir. Also here's a question, how did Lurtz store his sword and shield in the movie? I don't remember, don't wanna rewatch it right now and didn't find anything on other LOTR products.
Lurtz was never shown traveling with his sword and shield, when he uses them to fight Aragorn he picks them up off the ground presumably from a dead Uruk.
Expected as much, thanks.
They're Hobbits!
lol I don’t know what I expected
Well, it's true! Press get to come into our Toy Fair showroom tomorrow, and I believe Sam and Saruman will be there, along with Merry, Pippen and... not sure who else. M&P are a two-pack, I believe, so it may be the other figure in Series 7, and it MAY be Series 8 -- unlikely, though. Also, Cave Troll! It goes up for pre-order Oct. 20.
That's awesome that Merry and Pippin are a 2 pack! It'll be nice to not only be able to get them both in one fell swoop, but also not have one take up the slot for another character. Eager to see what all they come with and who else is in the wave with them. Would love to see series 8 as well, even if it's just mock-ups or a tease.
It was over a year between the release of Gollum and the next wave, I’m so glad the drought is over!
can’t wait to see Merry and Pippin and hopefully the other figure in the wave.
I’ve been checking the toy fair hashtags on Instagram but haven’t seen anything from DST yet.
has anyone been able to find anything?
