I want any and all Rohan characters in this line. The look of their attires and armors are just some of the best in the trilogy.
I love Rohan, and the Rohan theme music with the violins and all lives rent free in my head at all times. Also, I love Rohan because its people are the Horse-lords. Having been around horses my entire life and loving them, the horses in LOTR were always just as special and important to me as the characters, battles, and visuals. So, I of course love Rohan for that reason as much as any.
I have actually been in the presence of several of the LOTR horses at events including one of the horses who played Shadowfax.
Jealous! I used to pretend my paint was Arod when I'd hack him outside the arena next to my grandma's. I've already got horses and/or customs of horses planned out for the riders. Just need to get some time to do that and design the saddle patterns.
We may get lucky and get figures from Rise of the Rohirrim, if not from DST someone else perhaps. I would not mind to see NECA venture to middle earth, McFarline has been doing some Tolkien stuff as well.
Got my Figures today.
Haven't had chance to open them yet, but does everyone else's Saruman have a quite a dark complexion?
I was surprised given how pale he is in the films!
@ineffable_force I wouldn't say mine is dark, but he definitely looks like he did a day or two of tanning on the top of Orthanc. Doesn't bother me too much- he's certainly on the pale side in the films, but nothing crazy. I'd assume "paleness", or old man skin with liver spots, is hard to do on a figure without coming across as ghostly, and since Saruman isn't that, they just went with a more normal tone. Now on a figure like Wormtongue or something, I'd expect a little paler, but he's one that wouldn't be ruined if he looked a bit more ghostly.
Well it's not as bad out-of-box, but I agree he looks like he's had a holiday East of the Sea of Rhûn!
Pretty happy with how the Pedestal scaled, it's a shame the sleeve stops him putting his hand directly over the Palantir (which I think is slightly oversized) love the amber effect though!
@ineffable_forces that looks great! Is that from the Toybiz figure?
@misterskeezler Thank you! It's a 3D print, the ToyBiz one had those horrible posts sticking out of it for the levitating gimmick 🤢
@ineffable_forces That looks great! Did you make the 3D print yourself, or pick it up somewhere? I've been tempted to find one, myself, but I know as soon as I do, it'll get an official release with one of the future figures.
@joshsquash729 Yeah it's a print, I honestly can't think of how they would release it now, outside of maybe a Diamond Select Exclusive accessory set
How much would you charge for that stand? Asking for a friend…
Yes, I, uh, *ahem*, I have that same friend. Who was also asking how much you'd charge for the stand. You know, for the friend. I have friends.
Superhero Hype has a first look at the Legolas diorama piece, and I gotta say, he looks really nice! Wasn't gonna do any of the dioramas other than the Cave Troll, but I may have to pick him up. Always been a Leggie fan.
Holy hell that Legolas looks so damn good!
I think out of all the figures of the first wave Legolas for sure needs a redo.
Man, if those were scaled to fit in with Select, I'd be all over that. He's my favorite from the movie & by far my least favorite figure in the series. Hopefully they can justify taking another crack at him eventually, maybe in Two Towers guise.
Wow! That dio does look good. Does anyone know how well their production pieces match the solicitation ones? I was only planning on trying to pick up the troll but if the rest of the pieces are as good as the Legolas one looks I am going to be tempted to collect that line as well.
