We're talking about Merry and Pippin now, it may be a little more expensive than originally planned (two figures) but we'll add some extra accessories to make it worth everyone's while.
We'll offer them and Gandalf the White in late November.
100% ok with that. I was shocked it was listed with a normal MSRP. I would love to see a deluxe Gollum style figure once a year.
so next year we are getting 2 waves and a statue. Still a huge increase from this year, but the wait time between waves are pretty long. Hopefully maybe a con exclusive to help with the wait.
This Boromir is a total disaster for me.It really sucks that the accessories don't fit on the main body. Why wasn't this taken into account when it was made. Really disappointed with this figure.
I'd gladly pay a little more for Merry and Pippin, especially if they're loaded up with accessories. Frodo got the big BAF piece, and Sam looks to come with a lot as well to make up for the price. As long as M&P come with their cloaks and swords, everything else is a bonus. I know we saw the firework, and there's talk of a pint, which makes me happy. I'd love some lembas bread as well. Seems like an easy enough accessory to make (knowing nothing of how much anything costs). I'm expecting maybe 1.5 times the price of other figures, but even if it's twice as much, I'd go for it. To finally have a complete Fellowship, and to have them both together, versus waiting however many months, is worth it to me.
Yeah, Boromir is a head scratcher. I know it was said that there was a miscommunication, and I can't even begin to think about how action figures are made or how long and difficult a process it is, but I'd think that some things would just be a given, you know? I know that it's said they all get licensor approval before release, and I'm not sure how staunch the licensor (would it be Tolkien's estate or New Line? Weta, maybe?) is to having things like sheaths attaching to a figure or a horn strap long enough to sling around his body. It's probably not as big a deal to them as the likeness/costume matching up, but it's those little details that help separate things for me. It's not enough to ruin the figure for me- at the end of the day, as long as he can hold his sword and shield, I'm fine, but it is a bummer- especially the horn. That just feels like an integral part of the character.
Also, I saw that there was a photo released of Funko's King Theoden, and it makes me really excited to see where this line goes too. I'd assume that Theoden would be at least somewhat high up on the list, and now that the Fellowship is done and we can start dipping into other important characters, I hope he's not too far behind. I've always loved his armor, and I think DST can do a good job with it.
Characters in Lord of the Rings are always on the road, and they have to keep their equipment on them at all times, ready to move and go.They already make figure like Aragorn where the accessories attach to the main body. And then making Boromir like this really is awful for me.
Accessory idea for Merry/Pippin - the Ring.
@joshsquash729 Totally agree on all accounts. I was able to modify Boromir so he can have his sheath at his side and his horn around his body, but haven’t found a way to attach the scabbard very easily.
While I do enjoy customizing these figures, I wish it didn’t feel so necessary to make it screen accurate. Oh well.
I also really hope they start making the Rohirrim next; Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn, etc. I’m worried that the Hobbit figures won’t be as popular and the line may be hindered…
I feel like the strongest designs exist outside the fellowship, Eomer, Theoden, Faramir, Arwen, The Witchking, Gondorian Tree guards, there are not many designs I would not be excited to see.
I’ll make a longer post later with my wishlist but top of mind for me outside the above is the prologue. So many excellent designs. I can’t imagine a wave with a 2nd age elf and a Numenorian soldier wouldn’t sell. Or an orc with 2 heads for army building.
it’s been a bit since we had an army builder, I hope we get more down the line.

It's been discussed!
We had a delay between 4 and 5, but there should not be another delay like that. Series 6 is coming soon and Series 7 will be offered in December.
Sorry if people are upset with the Boromir sheath issue. Thought we fixed this problem after the Ringwraith. But this slipped through.
Thanks for always being there for us, Zach! I know it's not always easy coming on here and seeing us all talk smack. I can only speak for myself, but it's not enough to get me to stop collecting the line. The quality seems to keep tracking upward, and at the end of the day, a stray sheath is small po-ta-toes in the grand scheme of it all. I know you guys'll keep giving us quality figures.
@msword Wait... are you saying that we're gonna have the Fellowship finished by the end of the year?! Saruman and Sam are "soon" and Gandalf and Merry/Pippin will be December?! If so, that's two series in two months... and that's fantastic!
That also opens up all the questions for what's to come... so exciting!!

I think he means they will be up for P.O. in December.
Yes, Series 7 pre-orders in December for s spring/summer release. We were aiming for November, but had to work out some things.
@arondir yeah, I kinda figured that after I posted and realized it made no sense. I went to see if the shipping dates for Series 6 had changed (they hadn't)... that prompted me to question my question.
Found a decent 3D print file for the Palantir Plinth.
My old Toybiz one does look a little bulky and oversized (plus those horrible bits for the floating gimmick)
Link here, not affiliated with me in any way.

@ineffable_force Thanks for posting that! Now if only I had a 3D printer and could paint! 🤣 Hopefully someone will sell some on etsy or something eventually. Forgive my ignorance with 3D printing and all that, but the file says that the Palantir is 1:6 scale, so would obviously be too big for Saruman. Is that something that can be changed in the file before printing?
