@blackcomicnerd the pre-order price was $175 back in May. i ordered both versions with the add ons for about the same price as EOV.
(Is it the holidays or have these boards slowed down since the last crash?)
Anyhow, the translucent orange wheels have been added to the Ramen Racer car!
@mr_articulate I ordered the early bird special as well. I'm tempted to get another to possibly paint it either red or blue. If someone ordered after the early bird time frame, it would still come close to the amount of the Haslab once you add the costs of shipping. If the Haslab reached all the goals, we would have gotten multiple figures whereas with the Ramen racer, we'll be lucky to get one additional figure if it's all said and done.
I just don't understand how the vocal critics of the Engine of Vengeance on YouTube and instagram can be ok with the costs of this car compared to the Haslab when there isn’t a huge difference in costs.
Just finished the Ramen Toys New Year's stream. It ends with a tease of the Ramen Razor, a 1/12 Mad Max Interceptor that would probably look great with Zarana behind the wheel.
But the big news for me was a vague, "that's all I can say about that" non-announcement for 1/12 scale MASK vehicles. I'm very ready for a Joe Classified-compatible Matt Trakker and Thunderhawk.

Interesting. From the preview it looks like a new deco and upgrade kit for the racer. A good reuse of the body certainly. I wonder if we'll ever get a version in hotrod red, or even better a convertible...

It’s especially frustrating because I have watched this with intent, but I have been burned in the past by “preordering” stuff from other creators that never materialize and neither do any refunds. I’d be down once product is *actually* available, but not until then. The early bird price didn’t matter nearly as much compared to the risks this things becomes another failed endeavor. The Haslab was going to happen if it funded, full stop. That’s worth something, too.
Well this thread just blew my budget - One Ramen Racer and hunting down a Mezco Blade to go with it was not in my expected yearly budget, but how can I not?!
So is anyone going for the new Ramen options? I finally caved and put down money for the Metal Black version of the racer. I didn't really like the tan interior on the old one and I want it more as a general cool-ass 1/12 car than a specific hell charger. Hoping I don't regret the purchase, but it looks real fun. I've so far decided against any of the vans or tanks. I still sort of want them, but there's only so much space in my place and I'm already going to be pushing my limits. I do hope there's at some point an upgrade kit with the Razor parts. I like the Razor but want a slightly better washed car for my displays.
Still, they're putting out a lot of vehicles real fast. Looks like they'll be doing to a version of KITT from Knightrider soon too. I can easily pass on that as i was never into the show, but it's an impressive pace if they can keep it up.

Holy smokes I had no idea this Ramen Razor car existed! A proper 1/12 V8 Interceptor is definitely a grail for me so thank you! I wonder if the steering with be on right side or not? I’m assuming all the metal bits can be removed too. Exciting stuff!
I will say it's kind of crazy to me that the car costs $100 more than the van and $50 more than the tank... If the Inferno set were a similar price to the Van I think I would cave and buy it - even though I don't have anywhere to put it.
If I had a big ol' basement space to convert into a huge figure display I'd be tempted to get all of it, the Inferno, the Raider van, the Hunter Tank, the Amphisbaena cobra tank... but I don't have the display space so it would just be money wasted. It's all gorgeous though.

It's all the electronics in the car. None of that in the tank or van. The van too is only one layer of plastic for most of the body, cutting costs. It's probably silly of me to get the most expensive thing, but I feel like the car will just fit better on the shelf. My second biggest want is the Amphisbaena tank, and then the armored van. But yeah, I'd need a bigger house. I've still got to find a place for the car and the Roboskull I'm getting.
@jonsnow1 TBF it's not quite a *proper* Mad Max interceptor. Different type of car and details so if you're OCD into accuracy it might bug you. But yeah, if you're not that much a stickler it's absolutely good enough to fill the role. It's definitely going to have the steering wheel on the left side of the car. It's exactly the same as the previous Ramen Racers except a different deco and the armor/scoop add-ons.

So, then I guess my hope is that they'll eventually round back to releasing a cheaper version of the car without all of the electronics that I absolutely do NOT care about. I would love a model of the care with functioning wheels and the fun flame effects to pose as the engine of vengeance but that's all I need. I don't need a working moving gear shift and lights and sounds and all of that. Give me something closer to what my G.I. Joe Classified Jeep is and I'd be a happy guy.
Frankly I still sort of hope Hasbro decides to do this - use the same basic sculpt, remove all of the intricate bells and whistles and sell it for a reasonable price.
