Anyone had any luck removing the vest from Flint? I don't mind it but on a whim I picked up a second to do a cheap mod and try to remove the vest but having second thoughts now (mostly because of the shotgun holster on the back). Was trying to give him a look more akin to the original toy version. (Keeping the original one unmodded though, hence picking up a back up in case I screw it up.)

I've done it.  Just boil and pop the arm off it should come off easy. I cut around the body armor so it was just the suspenders and shotgun holster

Swapped out Zaran's mid torso piece with the Valkyries for a Midriff look. I just wanted to see if it's possible.

Heat and pop the torsos at the diaphragm and hip ball sockets, then pull off the belt and lower torso overlay then swap them around. The hip balls on Zarana are a little larger than the Valkyries so the sockets will be stretched out a bit, maybe not something you want to do unless it's a permanent swap. The hole at the top of Zarana's mid torso can be visible from certain poses but easy to avoid. The swapped figure is the same height as the other Valkyries. And the hips move fine after cooling, not too stiff at all. This is an easy mod anyone can do.

It's been awhile since I've messed with a flint, but if I remember correctly, popping the legs and crotch cover off and pulling down is the easiest way to remove it.

I'll preface this in saying this line is tough to get in Australia. I have under 20 figures, I have to be picky and choosey because importing them will run me upwards of $100 per figure. But one figure I really wanted to pickup was Barbecue Kelly. Now, I could have gotten the more recent blue one from Amazon for $30ish, but it's just not the right colour for a character who fights fire in my mind. The red sings to me loudly. So I was planning to grab him from a retailer who had him, but was waiting for their November sales when they do 20% off. Then he sold out. So eyed him off another retailer on eBay who was selling him via auction. Missed him twice on snipe bids. The seller keeps relisting more stock every other week. Eventually get one and load up to make sure I'm not sniped. It's sitting at a great price untill... shock horror... I get sniped to my max price (seemed awfully convenient). But, I got him. A bit more than what I wanted to spend (around $55 shipped), but at least I got him, because I've had this head kicking around on various SWBS troopers in my collection for the last 5 years, that just seemed destined to be used for him. So happy with it.

I've noticed that convenient bidding situation as well. It usually happens when I am about to get a good item for way less than it typically goes for. Since you won, have you noticed the seller listing more BBQ's? What's causing the expense on importing, the exchange rate or the shipping?

I bought two Firefly's so I made some slight mods too one. I also had two CI versions so I took the vest from one of them and the accessories. I painted all of the straps black to stick out more from his uniform and tried adding some light grey camouflage (not thrilled with how that turned out). All and all I'm pretty happy with it.

Yes, they listed before and after this one. I'd already missed him before. :/

Combination really. Exchange rate ain't great but shipping is a killer. I mean, it is what it is. If I really want something and I can justify the outlay, I'll pay for it. But I try to be as savvy as a I can. It's all compromise.

I was perfectly happy with CI Firefly, but that load out may have convinced me.

I also see Sam Fisher customs soon lol

@classifiedcustoms I liked the CI version a lot but the new one does fix my biggest problem with the CI one. The fact he seemed to small and Scrawny. That being said I made a slit in the back of the vest to take it on and off as I please.
