Why is Cover Girl going for so much more than other semi recent non exclusive figures?
My bet is it's a case of being hard to find because a warehouse is sitting on them and they'll end up hitting en mass in the future.Ā For me, GI Joe are pretty easy to find in stores, but I think that's the only figure I've not seen once.
@mr-potatohead Must be that, it's not like she is that great to be honest. Glad I pre order everything in this line, I would hate to have to pay extra for a somewhat mid figure.
Sometimes figures which didn't sell well and went to clearance end up being highly sought after down the road.Ā People pass on a figure and then end up regretting it once it disappears.Ā Ā I actually like the Cover Girl, but some people got each other worked up because they weren't turned on by an action figure.
Yep and people didn't like Falcon either because he wasn't turning them on 🤣 🤣Ā that was totally it
Honestly taking a look on Ebay (sold listings) Covergirl isn't really going for much more than retail.Ā Her sold listings vary quite a bit.Ā Some sold for maybe $15-$20US over retail, but there are also listing where she was basically retail price.Ā Definitely not a significantly higher secondary market price compared to others.Ā
Considering the reception the figure got upon release I am not surprised she isn't one of the higher priced figures on the secondary market.Ā Probably a case of "Non-Buyers Remorse" like a lot of figures that aren't readily availableĀ anymore.
Falcon is a good comparison because i am dead certain the same person did both face sculpts.

The question is were they drunk when they sculpted them, or did they need a new prescription pair of glasses?Ā LOL
Ā
Different sculptors. Cover Girl is a good sculpt marred by bad face painting. My attempt at a Cover girl repaint.

Ā
That tracks with Outback being a phenomenal sculpt with terrible paint job, at least compared to the superior TF version.Ā Nice repaint!Ā I'm glad we're over that hump of bad paint jobs.
Iām for Target getting a Tiger Force Falcon. The only things different are that he comes with a new/younger headsculpt and a leg holster with sidearm. Ā Maybe an extra M4 rifle. Iād buy it just to swap out the parts for the regular Falcon.Ā
I'm surprised to hear people think Cover Girl is mediocre - I think it's a fantastic figure.
I finally got the deluxe Tripwire and promptly put one of his mines in the backpack....and now I'm never getting it back out again, am I? 🤣Ā Ā Is that why he came with two of them?

I liked Cover Girl a lot. She was one of my more anticipated figures. I don't love the way the paints came out on her head sculpt. The head in general isn't what I picture for her either. I know Hasbro can do better. There seem to be tons of options that people swap in, from movie Scarlett to 60th Anniversary Black Widow. I would have loved a blonde alternate head too. I don't see anything wrong with the rest of the figure though.
Ā
I got two Cover Girls with lip paint apps that didn't quite hit the mark.Ā The first was too low, the second had slightly better lip placement which helped her overall look.Ā I could've been sold a third if it was possible to compare figures when Target had her on the pegs.
