I saw Mutt and Junkyard at three Targets a browsed today. I know my copy was coming from Pulse tomorrow. It was funny the bargaining I did in my head about buying the figure and opening it. I finally had reason but and remind me it’s one day. I can wait. Dumb to go through returns. I did admire the in hand look in box. It will be fun to figure out the various hand commands. It fascinates me that a hand gesture can communicate with a dog. I did have my dog in training and we did the verbal commands we use often. I never did get my dog and I on hand gestures. He mostly responds to food. I hear there is a mod kit that has dog treats in the kit. I think I may pursue that accessory.

Anyway. Lots of figures in the Target stores in my area. We have loads of Targets in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

I’m getting excited to see Metal Head and the VAMP get released. I’m sure we will have a few preorders in before that.

As to others, yeah I guess the grass is always greener, but I will say Target is your ace in the hole whether or not you are near Ollie's or Ross.

Target is great for sales/clearance on a regular basis.  When they were up here for that short period of time it was great getting stuff on sale more regularly, and they weren't afraid to clearance out stuff much like the US.  Of course they didn't last due to a number of poor operations/logistics decisions, but c'est la vie.

Having finally had the chance to fiddle with the latest wave (minus Helix) I have to say they are all pretty great.  However I am disappointed that all of them have some issue.  Hawk is a bit stiff in some areas, and a bit floppy in others.  Buzzer's weapons and his goggles (ugh), Shockwave's shield handle and Ripper's head sculpt (put on his glasses and it is solved).

Of course no line/figure is perfect, usually, but as others have said it is a bit disheartening to see so many little issues popping up on a regular basis.

What are people using for a leash/collar for Junkyard?

Necklace chain from walmart, glued it to the red collar it comes with.

Just saw over on Hisstank someone posted group photos of the Classified line by year of release. It's pretty cool and really shows how far this line has come in just a few years.

Those are great photos. I've been wanting to see pics that show off what came out each year. Would love to see that for ML, TF, SW too. Some easter eggs in those photos too. The 2023 photo has Falcon with his back to the camera to hid his odd mug. 

Agreed.    I went to one Ross and they had one Tiger Force Outback and like 12 Xamot's and 6 Tomax's or something...   The twins were ridiculously over represented  but virtually nothing else.

It's a bummer because the other stuff -  Stalker, Dusty, whatever else -  can all be useful custom fodder at those cheap prices.   But the Twins are not particularly useful even for customs.

This line took off like wild once they got those awful movie figures off the shelves.  Let's enjoy it while we can before some asshole higher-up at Hasbro decides to torpedo the series again with another gamble at a Joe movie with tie-in toys.  What do they care if it fails?  They'll just find a new job!

C'mon man!  Keep up!!  You can go without food for a couple days!!  😀 

I know how you feel, but I am way behind on other lines (ML, TF).  So much so that I really only pick and choose from those lines now, or pick up stuff on sale.  Or get the ones I really want.  Otherwise I have cut way back on them.  Same with MOTU:O and Masterverse.  I no longer try to keep up with them as well.  Just get what I really want, which is almost nothing right now, or get it on super sale.  As for SW.....well.....it was a good line.

As for Classified, well that is my "bread and butter" as a former Fwoosh personality likes to say.  So I have kept up fairly well in that respect.  I am still missing a few already released figures.   I am missing 00 Snake Eyes, Arctic Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander (not the black one, the variant colours of the blue release CC), Eels, Helix, Steel Corps two pack and Mutt & Junkyard.  Otherwise I have all the other currently released figures.

The problem is they just keep coming.  Amazon Canada just put up all the new ones for preorder, alongside them already being up at other places.  So I broke my no preorder rule for the Techno Viper (x2).  However that still leaves 8 more figures to pick up when they release.  Not to mention Metal Head still hasn't released. Then there is also the VAMP with Clutch!!!  So that is 11 figures and 1 vehicle coming in 2024 already and it isn't even the middle of January!!!!!

Then another thing to make us all shudder just a little.   Classified is already up to #118 in the numbered line, and that doesn't include any Retro carded figures or the 60th figures which Lenny mentioned would not be part of the numbered boxes.  Then we have all the Pipeline/render reveals to come.  That is 15 more already plus 2 vehicles with figures (SMS/Techno Viper and Ferret/Scout).  On top of that we have leaks for about half a dozen more figures, and possibly one more vehicle. 

If 2023 saw around 60 figures/vehicles released I hate to think how many they are going to try and squeeze into 2024.  Guess I have to sell some more blood!!! HAHA

@detectivehoag That Mutt and Junkyard pic reminds me of "Mars Attacks" and, I think, Sarah Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnan in that scene where their heads were swapped onto dogs.

 

A funny thing I noticed at Walmart Canada the last couple of waves.  They have been getting 4 out of the 5 figures in each wave in store.  Online they have the 5th figure, but for some reason they don't release it to stores.  Considering how many of each figure in a wave I see at the stores I frequent, I am assuming they are getting solid cases of each figure at each store.  However that 5th figure just doesn't make it to store shelves.

The latest wave is missing Helix in store (available online) and the last wave it was Low-Light (now sold out online).

Is that happening anywhere in the states?  Anyone elsewhere in Canada seeing something different?

I've seen Low-Light in store here in Alberta. I've also seen Helix. I haven't been paying enough attention to know if we're getting complete waves, though. I know i've seen Helix, Low-Light, Grunt, Hawk, and Shipwreck, just off the top of my head.

@flexion-dynamo You're doing better than me, I still can't track down Cover Girl.  Hoping someone restocks these.  Think this is the only Joe I've never seen in store that wasn't an exclusive.  Guessing there's a warehouse filled with these that will mass-drop them in the future.

Speaking of tracking, ST shipped last night and I should have it today.  Fingers crossed no QC issues.
