Digging both these two.Β I also don't really have a soft spot for Metal-Head but I like the articulation they gave his backpack rocket launchers and his overall deco.Β To me he looks a little silly with the blast effect rockets so he has to look good without them, and he does.Β The only thing I'm not loving is that tiny assault rifle that so many Cobra figures come with now.Β It scaled fine with the Valkyries but it looks tiny in the hands of any male figure so far.Β M&J is plastic crack, he's also swimming in hands I'll never use, maybe some other figures will make use of them.
Question for you guys:Β Do you leave the hands stretched open, for example, to hold a rifle barrel in the off-hand?Β And have you had any issues with the plastic after doing so?Β I'm always worried the hands will eventually start to crack if I leave them too far open, so unless I'm taking photos, I just kind of rest the hand underneath the gun to support rather than open it up to grip.Β The M16 in particular, I mention since Mutt comes with it, is a great gun but it really stresses the hand plastic to hold properly.
@vicious7171Β thanks.Β I actually wasn't familiar since he/they were after my time collecting the line.Β Good to know and happy there wasn't another $40 army builder
I think Metal Head is a perfect example of were this line excels. Taking those obscure or uninteresting characters that I didn't care about as kid and making them amazing. Look at Tripwire. A character I never cared about before and now he is one of my favorites in the line. Same thing with Clutch. The old O-ring version is kind of dull. The new one chefs kiss. I'm actually looking forward to them finishing the original 13 and I never cared for them at all. I am hoping Zap and Short fuzz match grunt a bit and come with the Steel Brigade helmet to troop build them.
@vicious7171 I try not to leave them gripping their guns. I did it with Duke and know his hand is stuck like that.
The smaller rifles are distracting with the bigger characters. Honestly rifles are a moot point with Metal Head. His β power extremeβ mode is how I will have him displayed.Β
Thwipp!
Wal-Mart shipped Shooter and Pulse charged her before I got a chance to cancel on one of them.Β The dangers of multiple preorders.
Question: does anyone here have both Covergirl and Helix? If so, could you do me a favour and see if the Helix headsculpt fits on the Covergirl neck? (and maybe take a quick pic)
Anyone find any more figs at ollies lately? I keep checking but havent seen anything good.Β
@freditor Supposed to be here tomorrow.Β I'll post a pic if nobody else does.Β There's probably some unnecessary ball/socket size difference.
Β
@unclassified Nothing good lately at my store for Classified.Β They did have another case of Fortnite boats and they got the Fortnite Snake-Eyes.Β A few weeks back, I went on a Saturday and couldn't find anything except piles of unopened movie wave cases.Β Later that day, someone on the local toy FB group said he got Guards, Sarge, etc out of the backroom at the same Ollie's.Β I'd never think to ask an Ollie's employee to to look in the stockroom like it was Target 😆Β
This was over the weekend.Β Mostly cartoon and movie D&D, ML Black Panther, some Transformers...and a case of movie GI Joe.
Nothing at Ollies but I did see Xamot, Tomax, and Stalker at Ross yesterday. $5.99 each.Β
I haven't had any luck at ollies. I hit three up last week and a Ross only found Tomax. Which is weird because why are people just buying Xamot.Β
I got three different "payment successful" emails from Pulse overnight plus a figure from Walmart.Β A weird batch of orders in that I bought one each of the army builders, but have three Shooters.Β I cut down the Mole Rat preorders and will use as an individual character, unless I happen to find one in the store.
Hoping Walmart Canada ships out today. Really looking forward to all three of them. Walmart really killed it with the exclusives this year IMO. Would be nice to get Shadow Tracker before the end of the year
