@threash Actually, no. And I live right next to a busy mainline railway so stuff's always rattling and shaking but none of them have fallen over as of yet.
Hrrm... maybe my shelves are the problem.
Just opened the new Firefly. First classified I've bought since the first SE & Timber two pack. The detents in the joints are almost impossible to move. They seem way worse than they used to be. Do all the figures have these horrible detents? Kind of ruins the fun of fluid posing or playing, doesn't it? Of course he has the loose torso too, so he just leans backwards.
Great design, but I wish he was more fun to mess around with.
Also, are his guns undersized, or is it just me? His rifle and pistol seem way too small.
Buy the Mark2Toys Weapon set Bravo, it comes with a Demro XF-7 Wasp, the exact real world weapon Firefly's RAH gun is based on. It is larger and made of the same firm plastic as Action Force guns. It should be painted, use a good Primer first, you could just spray it in black primer and then clear but, I feel very dark gray paint would be more accurate. Then finish it of with a few coats of matte clear, especially around the grip areas. A good matte clear rattle can is MR Hobby Top Coat, you can find it at Hobby Lobby stores.
You can buy the Mark2Toys gun sets from BBTS or direct from his own website. For the best price, I buy mine from Hard2Find Toys under the GI Joe Classified category.
I'm excited to try the extra Tripwire bomb suit on other characters. Shout out to Snow Serpent's amazing lower-body ball joint; I wish they could all be this good. It just has so much range. Then today I opened Tripwire and his lower-body ball joint has next to no range. It might as well be a swivel. If only they could all have the range of Snow Serpent...
@threash this is why I started using stands. If your room gets hot, that's probably the issue. My PC is in my bedroom and I often render images overnight, heating my room up and softening the plastic on the ankles of Joes who end up toppling over. The little round disc stands on amazon help a lot with this (or the rectangle ones if you use "default" poses)
Anyone have a problem with this line constantly falling over? My Joe shelves are the only ones constantly falling, I don't know if they have bad ankles or too many accessories but I am constantly picking them off the floor.
How are you posing them? Vanilla standing straight up or some sort of action crouch?
I find vanilla posing difficult for this line. Add in the extra weight from accessories (either large weapons or backpack) and not too many are staying upright that way. A bit of a crouch goes a long way to give them a sturdy base, so action poses I find work best (and look great!)
Opened up Tripwire, and I really like this figure. Lots of accessories, and lots of display possibilities. And I always like figures who have animal companions. The only issue I had is I had some random paint marks or smudges on the figures face. The good thing, once his helmet is on (I used the one that looked like the RAH figure) it covers them up. Because one of the marks is right under his eye, which is covered be the goggles, and the other mark is on his chin, which is covered by the chin strap.
And since the RAH toy always had the helmet on, so will my Classified Tripwire.
So, now how long until we get the Tiger Force version lol.
I was looking at Ollies hoping to find some $5 Crimson Guards. I didn't, but I did find Dusty and Zarana. Even though I had them both, I bought one of each. How could I pass up two Classified figures for $10.
it depends on which figure. A lot of the older ones especially the Cobra Viper seems to have the weakest hips out of all of mine. along with the backpack it doesn't take much for him to fall over. I always use the clear disk stands too. for the most part I don't have any issues and I always put my joes in actions poses.
My Tripwire gets delivered today and I was charged last night for Chuckles. I'm hoping he gets shipped this week. It would be nice to have him by the 1027 event.
I tried Ollies a few times but I always seem to strike out. I wouldn't mid finding an extra sarge just for the extra hands and the AK
Speaking of Ollie’s I took a trip down memory lane on Saturday. I found myself at a place that brought me loads of happiness in Mesquite. We’re doing Band Dad duties and while waiting parked in North Mesquite’s parking I look over and it’s right there. Now it’s an Ollie’s, then it was Toys R Us. 40 years ago my brother and I walked several miles round trip to spend the money we had made mowing yards to get us some Joes. He really wanted Night Raven. I wanted Tomahawk. So we bought those. But my brother and I had worked quite hard mowing yards so we had a goodly sum. We nearly filled a basket. I can’t remember the other Joe pieces we got but it was one of those I picked a vehicle. He did. I remember X-30 and STUN being chosen. I can’t remember exactly but I think Triple T and Serpentor were chosen too. I picked two guys. Then my brother did. I can’t remember the singles we chose. I do remember we were just a little off on calculating tax. The woman working the register saw the disappointment in our face when we were told we have to put something back. She said we were in luck she had a coupon. So neither me or my had to give something up. So a ten year old and eight year old walked out of Toys R Us with two big sacks full of Joe stuff. We were quite tired when we got home. It was also dark by the time we made it. I can’t remember if we opened them at home or waited till next day. It sure was fun.
I didn’t find anything as magical with that Ollie’s. Low lighting, things thrown all together. But it took me for a trip for sure. I wish I had any of those Joes but my family was nomadic moving all the dang time. My toys were hand me downs so they were lost and destroyed. Oh well.
Thwipp!
Is there no place to store the rifle on the Range Viper or am I missing it?
Crimson Strike Team en route. I typically keep exclusive repaints like this packaged (Profit Director, lighter blue CoCo) but the satisfaction of seeing that Crimson legion may be too overwhelming. I have only caught bits and pieces of reviews. I'm aware of the Baroness head sockets being incompatible with the black bodies. Is this body different from the previous bodies? I imagine T&X are just repaints.
@normdapito The neck, head and arms are new the rest is from the previous releases.
@mr-potatohead no there is no place to put the rifle but everything else has a spot
Chuckles has left the building.
