I'd love for a classic trooper and viper. All day long. I honestly don't like the loom of the new ones.

As for cuts offs, born in 77 and Joe's and motu been my joints since the dawning of them both, but cut off is 89 90. I don't know anything after I hit 7th grade.

I bought a few into '88.  My parents bought my younger brother and I a figure each, so we had doubles of almost all the figures to that point.  My brother continued on a few more years and I remember my father offering to buy me whatever the latest new figures were at the time.  I said no, argh.  Who knew I would start collecting figures again by '94?  One of my big regrets is not diversifying my buying.  I should've picked up some of those old toys I missed with whatever I was buying from current lines.

It's very funny to me, in retrospect, to think about the time that I wasn't actively collecting. As a child, I collected Star Wars, MotU, Transformers, GIJoe, Voltron. I stopped right around when I started middle school 1988, because toys were for kids. But my brother was prime age for collecting (six years younger) so he sort of filled that void as I played with him (with TMNT, RGB, MASK, Silverhawks). I started collecting again as an "adult" collector once I had my own income, while I was in college. I think what broke my seal was a combination of Star Wars PotF2, and the Toy Biz box sets of the original X-Men, Giant Size X-Men, and original Avengers. That was maybe 1996? So there was an eight year gap of when I wasn't collecting. Now I'm 46, so I've been collecting non-stop for 27 years. Plus the 7-8 years as a child, looking at 35 years of collecting.

I was still collecting into high school. But by that point it was mainly Mcfarlane and some POTF. The first Spawn series came out around when I was in Grade Nine and I loved them at the time. The sculpts and paint apps were such a big leap forward. I would still collect here and there the odd thing but I had a big drop off in my mid twenties. I would still always look but I didn't buy anything. Me and my wife went to TRU to get presents for our niece and nephew for Christmas and I saw the first legends retro wave. I told my wife if I saw Wolverine I would buy him. Fast forward to my Birthday that year (I'm Jan 1st) Which is right after Christmas and she bought me the whole retro wave. I picked up the Cap shield and the dark phoenix two pack ( had no idea at the time how rare it was) at TRU after winning a poker game a few days later. I decided I wanted Deadpool, Venom and the ghost rider that was about to come out and things just quickly snowballed from there.

It was a really fun time to get into collecting around then. IMO it was the golden age of legends. So many characters were getting new releases some of which didn't get a release since the toybiz years. I still remember when they showed off the 80th anniversary Cap, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man. People went nuts it was the definitive versions of those characters. For the time being I'm taking a break from legends and focusing on Joes. Last year was good and we got some nice updates to some major characters but this year has been a bit dull as far as releases.

I'm only doing one Haslab a year so I picked the Dragonfly over Giant man ( I do hope he funds for people that want him). its funny people keep trying to figure out why he's not funding but there are just to many big ticket crowd funds a year now. to much space and money. I think Hasbro needs to reevaluate how many Haslabs they are doing a year and keep it to one or two a year

I noticed my Target has Vypra and Flint available for pick up.  They weren't out when I was there last night, but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on these two for a store pickup.  I have Vypra on preorder at Pulse, but not Flint.  Maybe I don't need either one?

@mrboshek Flint is pretty rad.  Vypra is very lacking in quality.  Both will go on clearance.

@vicious7171 I'm not too crazy about the female ninjas.  I waited for a sale before buying Akiko and the ninja pack.  I bet I'll get the urge to buy Flint and Vypra when I see them, but I'll wait for my next trip to the store, no placing pickup orders.

Snow Serpent is beefy. With all the gear on him he weighs quite a bit. He’s a bit tricky to stand with the wolf pelt on him. I like the pelt for some variety but it’s not going on all three Serpents I bought. I did give one of my Arctic BATs a Wolf head. The back of that accessory needs a little trimming to fit with the backpack or just turn the head to let the peak sit in an empty chamber on back.

I am curious what the retro version will be like. I’ll get a few of those. The accessories will be simpler like the rounded snow shoes and AK rifle. It may have a brighter blue on the webgear.

The accessories on this deluxe option are pretty sweet. I would have liked a bigger gun for scale as it is a beefy figure. The figure looks great but it has a learning curve to get dynamic poses with the gear on. I got the snow shoes and rocket launcher to fit on those pegs on the backpack. I would have traded one of the guns and knife for the axe Range Viper has.

Thwipp!

He's a good figure. I've actually been using the wolf cape on mine (not the head dress) the weapons are my only real complaint. He should have come with the AK. I was thinking about holding off for the retro release. But with the viper and trooper I found the rereleases inferior to the original.

Speaking of the viper I was posing some of mine last night. I really do want to see a redo at some point. Great sculpt but his articulation is awful

Really torn on how I want to display Snow Serpent, he's just such a good figure.  With the pelt on and borrowing grey Timber he looks really cool.  I wish Hasbro sold Timber separately as some sort of add-on or in an accessory pack so I could buy more.  But with the rocket launcher gear on, riding the snowboard, is such a cool toy, it's absolutely a toy I'd love as much as a kid as I do now, so as a fan of SS v2, I'll probably keep him on his board.  Here's hoping it's not too long of a wait for the retro release, and that they do make a v2 with his purple accents and big jet snowboard!  And give Arctic Snake Eyes a repaint of this snowboard, would be flippin AMAZING!

Side-note, Pulse just shipped my Tripwire.

Pulse shipped my Tripwire too. Don’t know why I wanted this guy so much when I was a kid. I never did get the original, and I don’t even remember if I got a modern one in the recent 4” line. But I’m stoked to get this one.

So Crimson Strike Force and Tripwire shipped. I guess it’s almost November. I’m glad I prepaid for both…

Chuckles must be next along with Walmart’s Nightforce. Of course the HISS is coming soon too.

Will the pace continue? I mean Hawk wave, Fire Team, Target Python Patrol, Walmart Nightforce, and 10/27 offerings. Seems they have product between now and Spring for a release or two every month.

Hasbro: “They love Joes keep pumping them out.”

Thwipp!

Played a bit more with the loadout. You can get the snow shoes on the hooks, then the launcher after that. Fits snug.

I don't want a wonky knife blade by shoving it in a strap, so I guess that and one gun will go in the cobra storage bin.
