I wonder if they were going for a mysterious vibe hoping he'd be another Snake Eyes.
Wolf Spider’s gonna look nice with a Steel Corps helmet.
I'm still on the fence with Wolf Spider. If I do pick him up I want to troop build him. He does come off a bit generic. Part of it is his load out. I'm not crazy the falcon gear. Would have preferred Stalkers. He has one of the best load outs in the line. As much as Joe is about the characters its also just as much about the gear they come with for me. The more unique and inline with the character the better. The fact that he comes with the string but nothing to attach it to bugs me.
Wolf Spider is definitely an odd ball. I'm feeling a strong love/hate relationship with it. Love the yellow details on the vest and pack, but I hate the restrictive vest and don't much care for Falcon's backpack. Love that he comes with a pistol holster and the green accents on the shotgun, but hate that old Duke laser pistol and that junky Flint shotgun. The only part I like without any reservations is the fantastic helmet. The mask is a neat addition that hopefully fits on other faces since I won't be using it on WS and he's not good enough to army build. Overall he's decidedly mid, but mid in Classified is still pretty dang good. If he didn't have the yellow details I'd probably pass.
Snow Serpent has shipped and should be here Monday. Still no word on my Eel, other than order placed. At least there's that. No pitchforks or torches yet. Even Target seems to have a new date for Tracksuits, and Amazon also shipped a MotuO comic Man-E-Faces they screwed me out of on a previous preorder.
With Shooter also still available at Walmart, I canceled my pre-order for her and re-ordered her with Shadow Tracker to save some shipping.
This is actually a real good idea. I used her in an order I already received, so if I cancel and then add her I can save on shipping again haha.
Wolf Spider is a brand new character, right?
Wolf Spider is a brand new character, right?
Yes he is.
Originally he was planned to be a generic troop builder, but they changed their minds and made him unique.
I like one someone else posted. If this is his NF version, what does he look like in non-NF colours?
Opened up my Valkyries, finally. Great pack, love the effects pieces, but I agree with everyone about the bad torso articulation.
I saw a few people mention dremeling to allow for greater range. What does this mean exactly? Dremeling down the top of the middle part of the torso? Or inside the chest part?
Also, the short haired Black Widow headsculpt looks great on these with a little blue tac
I received an email from Pulse that the Crimson team of Baroness, Tomax and Xamot is getting ready to ship and a payment successful on my 2 Steel Corps sets.
I swear I can't get a break from any line I collect right now, lol.
I thought this week was going to be the first week since the middle of August without getting anything Classified. But I was able to pick up a Steel Corp two pack last night. I know the set has been getting a lot of negative reviews. but I like it. I don't think its a bad as it's made out to be. Yeah the single jointed elbows on the female is a step back and her normal Steel Corp helmet sits to low. But like I said I like it. It's nice to get more troop builders on the Joe side of things. Something I've been trying to build up this year with Grunt and Torpedo also. The jet packs are awesome with the new blast effects. I'm buying a few sets. I want to use the new effects on the HISS tank canons.
So many GI Joe Classified figures have been coming in lately, and I've been enjoying all of them. But it got me thinking, how does everyone on here collect this line?
Are you all in, meaning you buy everything. Mostly all in, or do you have some method or reasoning to just buy certain characters?
For me, until just this year, I have been all in. But I changed. Some things I'd bought over the years just didn't have meaning to me, or felt like "man, I don't really feel like spending the money on that."
Things like Kamakura and the Blue Ninjas. or pre orders like the Fire team, Shooter, Mole Rats etc.
So, I looked at what GI Joe is to me. What means the most. And that is the Classic GI Joe Hasbro 1:18 line from 1982-1998.
So, that what I do. If it's from the vintage toy line of my youth, I buy it. Not that I won't buy other things. Like, I may or may not got the Crimson Strike Team. And if I get them, I may have to get some Crimson Alley Vipers. And right there, I did just get some Crimson Vipers regardless of if I get the Strike Team and Alley Vipers.
So, how do you handle this? How do you collect Classified?
I'm pretty much in for everything unless it's priced higher than my interest (Chuckles, Crimson Baroness squad) or the rare repaint that I don't like (TF Dusty). But in any case if it drops enough in price I'll pick any figure up for parts because I like kitbashing them.
I’m mostly like you, Super Camel. Def in for RAH characters specifically ‘85, but only up to ‘87.
Tripwire incoming as well as Crimson commanders.
