That's shitty on Pulse. I don't see the new figures when I search by partner exclusive and new arrival or even by partner exclusive and GI Joe. I figured they were going to go up at 11 est or later.
Guess I have to play the will they or won't they cancel game with Walmart.
I've noticed the greyed out images of new figures being visible before the drop. I didn't"t see them this time and should've known to search
Wolf Spider is cool. Checked him out, got distracted by work for 10m, came back to find him sold out. Meh. Never had him and don't remember him. Plus this is Night Force so a mainline release will be forthcoming.
Shadow Tracker was a cool POC figure, but the Classified version is lacking some of the more interesting accessories he came with. Not hard to pass on for me.
I started with stupid army building numbers. I think between Cobra Island, the re-color main line, and officers I have 26 troopers. I cut down and did eight of original BATs and CGs. Then 6 became a squad. Down to 4… Really 2 of a particular troop builder sounds more reasonable now as you’ll have the capability to have like two or three color variations of that same trooper. So that’s a squad in time.
I probably need to part with some of these troops but man it’s so much fun to throw an army of characters up. I think for the holidays I’m going throw up a huge display on a couple 8’ tables to see what I’ve got. Then bring back to the shelves less numbers. I mean 2024 surely will have a few more troop builders.

Had to pick up the two new guys. Didn't pull the trigger on Night Force Tunnel Rat - I feel like I just ordered regular Tunnel Rat and wasn't feeling the need for another version immediately. I may eventually change my mind - but for now I didn't feel the need.
I don't get why the crimson color ain't the same throughout. Cgs ain't the same as vipers and it got me wondering if the 3 pack of twins and baroness will be different?
I was thinking about skipping Tunnel Rat as the night force deco is so similar to the one we just got, but figured I have everything else, so might as well grab him too. I'm really looking forward to Shadow Tracker, he's one of those characters I was so tempted to buy during the 4 inch line but didn't because I wasn't collecting them. I love the skull motif and bizarro green mask.
Somebody shared pics of their Crimson trio set earlier in the thread, and I forgot who so sorry and thank you. I love the look of them, but it is disappointing that the parts won't easily swap with the Baroness we already have.
I did see on Twitter that they announced a new Name Only character today at NYCC. It's going to be Alpine! I'm stoked and hope he comes out in the wave with Quick Kick.
The Frozen Fudgies trio will be complete in 2024!

I preordered all three figures this morning. I like the subgroups so Tunnel Rat was fine. Shadow Tracker is a cool enough design but has always been quasi-tainted by the Joe line going into Predator homages there for a while, so he's never felt like he works perfectly for me in the line.
I preordered Wolf Spider out of a sense of completionism than actual interest, he's kind of generic looking and his name is way more Call of duty than GI Joe.
Wolf Spider is so painfully generic, he could be a Vala figure so skipped him. Already have regular Tunnel Rat on order so sticking with that, so in the end, I only ordered Shadow Tracker this time round. My wallet thanks me.

Joe has a long history of homaging things from movies too mature for toys. Repeater's gun from Aliens, the Dreadnoks from Road Warrior, etc. While the Predator homages were more recent, the idea was baked in from nearly the get go.

Well, that explains my affinity for the 'Noks since the 80's. I loved Mad Max/Road Warrior as a kid and the Dreadnoks were my favorite Joe figures. I seriously never made the connection.
The whole POC Predator homage thing with Duke, Spirit, Recondo and Shadow Tracker was pretty cool. I wish they'd have taken it further.
With Shooter also still available at Walmart, I canceled my pre-order for her and re-ordered her with Shadow Tracker to save some shipping.

Ouch! I see your point. I think his saving grace for me is that the alternate mask has some weirdness to it, but yeah he's a little modern-military generic. It's a really nice looking modern-military generic, but that vest from Beach Head made him a bit of a stiff poser. I'm not terribly excited for that one.
