I wish tunnel rat had a few of the splashes of color like the original, specially the bandolier.
I wish that he didn't have a sniper scope on his squad-based machine gun. At least make it removable since a tunnel rat doesn't occupy either of those roles and it just looks goofy.
Fair point, but there was no pleasing everyone with that one as the original figure's gun also has a massive scope. Actually significantly bigger than the classified one. ETA: actually I guess making it removable would have been a good compromise.
Picked up Tunnel Rat, Low Light and 2 Crimson Vipers on Amazon this week.
Both of the Joes are great, and TR is a nice update to his vintage figure, and I love the basic upscaling of the POC Low Light for this figure.
The Vipers will join my 2 Crimson Guards and 2 Crimson BATs as flank troops for the twins.
Opened Tunnel Rat, Low Light, classic Firefly and Crimson Viper today. All so well done, and I honestly like the classic Firefly so, so much better than the modernized one - he's less busy and it makes him more mobile and posable.
Low Light's just a gorgeous figure. Love everything about him. Same with Tunnel Rat. Man, every figure lately has been so great IMO.
Two observations: first I had a TON of problems with hip joints with this line early on and all the newer figures have great hip range of motion in my experience. Love that this seems to be a thing they got better at. (The Crimson Viper's hip is a little suck and I had so many issues with Viper hips early on in collecting, like 50/50 good versus frozen. I might've skipped this one if I'd remembered but they've been so much better the past year.)
Other observation: to my great disappointment, they seem to have fixed the glitch where every character was kind of accidentally lefty by having the up/down gun-style hinge on the hand left. Probably makes a lot of other folks happy but selfishly I thought it was kinda awesome to have an entire squad of lefty Joes!
I don't feel super-beholden to the original sculpts, so I just had Tunnel Rat leave behind his machine gun. He's there for demolitions and combat engineering. You want a machine gun? Call in Rock n Roll.
Yeah I am not collecting Night Force (never did in the past either) but grabbed Big Ben since he is like the original.
Same here. I can't do these sub-set repaints, space is limited and there's enough coming out as is.
I would've thought Night Force would be my bag, but I'm just not digging any of them. It makes me look froward to discovering what they do with a "normal" Wolf Spider. Looking forward to Shadow Tracker.
My Tunnel Rat should be here today. I'm hoping Firefly is too since it shipped the same day from the same place.
Vypra is a little firecracker of a figure. I like the blue ninja especially with the alternate heads. This repaint with the Zartan skull mask is so slick! The colors really pop. It’s the gold in the arrows with that black and maroon. The Zarana arms are an upgrade.

I might pass on Night Force Tunnel Rat. I'm only loosely collecting Night Force. The colors are subdued enough they fit in with the normal joes. I'm not giving them their own section in my display like Tiger Force and Marauders (Marauders is obviously kind of light at the moment). Even Python Patrol, Crimson Strike Force and Tiger Force I think I am almost done with.
Marauders I'm looking forward to fleshing them out more. The remaining members have some of the best classified figures in the line and I would love it if they added the Renegades.
Man oh man is Snow Job a great figure. The neck articulation combined with the torso joint mean you can get him into some great skiing poses.
Also, don't be a doofus like me, the backpack has straps to attach the skis but the strap can plug in and out to easily attach them. I was trying to squeeze them in there for 5 minutes before realizing that 🤣
He's a great figure. The deluxe offerings have been way better then last year. Looking forward to Tripwire and Metalhead when they come out.

Received the new Firefly from Pulse today. Firefly is my favorite GI Joe villain, so I was very much looking to forward to getting this more classic inspired version.
As someone who already really liked the Cobra Island version (especially after I replaced his vest with a soft goods one), this new one is an upgrade for sure. While I think I still prefer the headsculpt on the CI version, this new one is certainly no slouch in that regard either. I thought it looked surprisingly cartoon-ish in the promo pics, but in-hand it's much nicer.
One minor thing I want to praise that might go unnoticed by most is how his backpack actually contours to his back and straps. One thing that bothers me on some previous figures is how flat the packs can feel. Like they're just floating on the figures' backs. So much so, I often just forgo displaying them altogether. Firefly's backpack looks MUCH more natural and I appreciate that a lot.
Edit: I forgot to mention that mine didn't have the pistol included. First time I've been duped by the windowless packaging. I even made sure to double check the paper bag. I've got plenty of weapons to spare, but it's worth bringing up.
The local MIB/MOC helped me out again. My Walmart doesn't sell Joes anymore, but in the last month I found retro Snake-Eyes and the Range Viper at a little discount. I also had two Vipers delivered from Pulse while I was out.
The boxes from Pulse were worse than the Walmart box that had a small corner ding.
