I’m thinking 27.99 is the real price for Joes after tariffs if we believe their own IPs should be cheaper. GameStop is at that price for normal joe preorders. I don’t know where that 31.99 price is coming from. EE did say in an email they will be adjusting prices as they get more info so there is still a chance they will lower the prices if they have not gotten official word on how much these should actually be.  If they don’t adjust and other retailers and etailers all have different pricing then something screwy is going on between all the companies. Either greed or lack of info.

I also understand why most left when the site/forums weren't working.

And on top of all of that, we're currently in a Classified drought.  I haven't received a new figure since mid-January.  It's been too long.

At least the next Retro wave is coming somewhat soon via Amazon.

@neal Yeah I think the lack of product is the bigger factor right now, but definitely don't discount the forum downtime.

Alright, lets drum up some banter to fill the void. I'll pose a question.  What would you be more open to in Classified: a figure (lets say Duke for schitts and giggles) in a version that is not ARAH based, like Sigma 6 or in a totally new 100% original design?

Honestly I'd like the GI Joe Extreme characters as Classified Series figures.  They're not any more outlandish than the Cobra La stuff.

@spongyblue While I am always open to new designs, I am currently more invested in the Joe team completing ARAH first.  There are still so many characters they haven't done yet, plus of course the variant looks.   I don't know that I am super eager for other cartoon looks right now.   

That doesn't mean I don't want them, or wouldn't pick them up.  I mean there have been some fantastic designs over the years and shows.   Just my nostalgia driven collecting wants ARAH finished.   Also it isn't like they aren't already including new designs in the line already (Fortification w/Trench Viper, Wolf Spider, Mole Rat).  So keep sprinkling them in I say.

I would pick up different designs, why not? for example, like the knit cap Shipwreck etc...

@canprime While I agree for the most part, I'll play devils advocate (again, just tryna drum up some convo), but if I was a company that wanted a line to go on as long as possible knowing that one particular version of characters are the most popular (ARAH), would't you want to space out releases? I mean why blow your load on all wanted characters and then hope everybody likes a wave made up of all new, possibly risky, design choices? So for instance, would you want a wave with Hooded CoCo, Billy, and Mercer; or use Hooded CoCo as the carrot in a wave of possible harder sells like POC Jungle Duke, Rise of Cobra Night Adder and Sigma 6 Spirit?  

Again just devils advocate.

Yeah I think that is the most logical way to go with most lines.  I mean Hasbro already does that whether it is Joe, TF, SW or ML.   

Each line has their evergreen characters who show up in some form in almost every wave of figures released.   Look at the last wave revealed for Classified.  Who was in it?  Snake Eyes (V4).  So really it is already happening.  

If anything I wouldn't mind if they upped the frequency of new characters included in a wave, and not just new looks for existing characters.   I doubt it would ever get to a level of one new character per wave, but still maybe that could be the goal now that the existing ARAH characters not done is getting smaller.

I would want other designs from other lines to start mixing with ARAH inspired designs they are doing now by next year. Even introducing new characters that are specific to the Classifieds line. I think that it would be about time. 
Retro line should still be around as well. 

And I want one UPC mail away figure. I don’t care if it’s for just a repaint of an existing figure. I want one for old times sake and the pain in the ass process that come along with it.

Only if you have to use a coupon you clip off of a box of Raisin Bran and mail in two Proofs of Purchase to some P.O. Box in Illinois.

@spongyblue I’m down with it. However I’m more of a Honeycomb cereal guy myself.

Amazon moved R&R up to a Wednesday delivery. Finally some new figures.

I don't know if I'd buy it--I'd have to see the final product--but I'd have no issue with a Duke design (or anybody else) from a previous non-ARAH property being made into a toy. However, I have no desire for a 100 percent original, never-seen-before design for Duke as done by the current team.
