Besides the color changes I would think the retro Snow Serpents would come with an AK, the missel launcher and the traditional snow shoes. I went in on the deluxe versions so I will probably be passing on them. Same thing with the Eels and Recondo ( I prefer the Tiger Force version and I don't need two). Beachhead on the other hand I might go in on. The CI version is good probably one of the best joes from the first year.

My Vypra from Target arrived yesterday. I wasn't familiar with the character, but she looked cool, and I'm glad I got her. Nice, fun figure. Just need to replace those comedically thick bowstrings, as always. 

That was a pretty poor decision to make the Range Viper an exclusive. Should've been a color variation like Big Ben. It's a great figure in its OG colors.

Originally I wasn't planning on using any of Agent Helix's sword weapons, but Hasbro's photography has been so good they have me excited for accessories I initially didn't like the look of.

Anyone with the Steel Brigade: are the shoulder guards easily removable?  As an ARAH guy those really kill the look for me, they're way too bulky.

I managed to get a second $11.99 Grunt on Saturday as well as a second clearanced PP Crimson Guard.  I know the Python Patrol isn't everyone's cup of tea but I'm surprised that one made it to the clearance bin, it's a fantastic figure.

I also managed to grab Tunnel Rat and Firefly from Target's "$10 off $50" promo thing.  Unfortunately Low Light was out of stock by the time the event started.  There's so much hitting right now, it's nice to be able to get some stuff on sale.

Re: the Snow Serpent. I would expect the retro release to be missing many of the accessories coming with the deluxe version.  The wolf head, the cloak, the snowboard... I bet those are all exclusive to the deluxe.  Personally I don't need those but I think I'm going to stay in for one Deluxe and then grab a retro as well.  The Snow Serpent is a favorite and I don't want to risk skipping this one and having the retro be disappointing or difficult to get.

Folks who have the new Firefly - think he's a must-buy for folks who don't collect the line? I have a few of the Classified figures, but seeing some pics and reviews of him he just looks like he's one of the best in the line so far. Just a clean and classic design, and it looks like his proportions are really well done.

Anybody manage to make a hybrid Firefly? Both are good figures in their own right and I don't really want two of the same character huggin space.

My Crimson Strike team came in today. All and all not bad. its exactly what a exclusive should be repaints. The reds go well with the rest of the crimson troops and it really does complete the team with them. The Baroness is defiantly the star of the show. the candy red and new head sculpts options are nice upgrades to the previous release. But there are defiantly some missed opportunities. The biggest one I know this is going to piss a lot of people off including myself is the heads are not compatible with the older versions. the peg is quite a bit smaller. Personally part of the appeal of this set was upgrading my retro baroness with the new head. the old head can go on the crimson body. But it sits to high and looks weird. The Twins really should have had silver instead of the dull grey and it would have been nice if they included their sky hook or something along those lines.

I'm still on the hunt for a Firefly since I didn't preorder him.  However since he is listed as a Nov. 1st release on Amazon.ca I am not too worried about finding him yet.

I have the Cobra Island version and plan to mix and match accessories for the New Firefly.  That way the new Firefly can be kitted out as a "deluxe" with all sorts of accessories and he will be my definitive Firefly.  Now I'm just trying to decide whether Firefly, or Scrap Iron, should get my mini HISS tanks from the 25th/ME era (the little black modern look one with the red missile that launches from the centre "mouth") and the air drone from the Data Viper.  On the one hand Scrap Iron probably should have those items, but on the other I could see Firefly using them to create havoc with his sabotage.

Got the call yesterday from Gamestop (Canada for you US folks) that my set came in so I'll be picking it up today.  Can't wait to see what it's like in hand.

I have to agree that I'm getting a bit tired of the lack of compatibility across the line for figures to swap parts.  Yes there is a lot of possible parts swapping, but the heads still seem to be an issue.  I mean the early BATs are not compatible with the newer ones for the same reason (heads don't fit).  Hopefully going forward they try to stay a bit more standard.

So, just to be sure, the Retro Carded Classified figures are always painted like/or closer to like the vintage 3.75" figures.  And at Pulse Con, they said there would be a Retro Card Snow Serpent, right?

So that Snow Serpent would be like the one we are getting as a deluxe figure, but would have blue straps, goggles, and boots instead of black so it was more like the vintage V.1 figure.  Correct?

Just trying to be sure, because if that the case, I really don't need the upcoming non retro card version. As I'd rather have what looks most like the vintage figure.

Sometimes they’re like Zartan or Crimson Guard and more based on the cartoon, but generally, yeah, more often they’re based on the original figures.

Fortunately I haven’t gotten any Snow Serpents yet. So I’ll probably join you and just wait for the retro version. The wolf pelt is cool and all, but I don’t need it. 

@canprime I get why they did it. it is a lot easier to take the head off of the newer version compared to the old one. Same thing with the BAT (The real piss off with the BAT for me is how all the holes on the backpack are to big for his accessories now and they just fallout).  But I'm still annoyed with it. Like I said I was going to use one of the heads on retro Baroness

I did the same thing with my Firefly as you are describing. See the parts swaps and mods page. between the two it really beefs him up. The only thing I didn't use was his stupid gun from the CI release. I actually prefer the drones over the RC car
