I think since Transfomers and G.I. Joe are both owned by Hasbro they can share a trademarked name across the two properties without infringing and without risking the legal standing of the trademark...

@panthercult well, sure, but shelf canon probably falls into a safe legal grey area.

Bombstrike was Bombshell, originally. Speaking of, I really hope the rumour about Bombstrike and Black Out getting a two-pack turns out to be real.

It suddenly occurs to me that Cover Girl just needs black and grey hair versions to complete the set. The 80s and Classified ones were a brunette, the 90s-2000s and Collector’s Club were redheads, the film and Retro versions blonde. The lady just can’t make her mind up.

See, I didn't know Bombstrike was a real thing either.    There was a long gap in my G.I. Joe understanding  -   my knowledge is super spotty between like 1988 and Classified.

Same here until I started needing to name some of these classified figures. I perused yojoe.com like crazy, joepedia, and so on. And even some transformers (bombshell WAS on my list, and Shrapnel seems a natural). I had no idea about Bombstrike and Black Out until a couple months ago. Now there's IDW stuff and energon characters too. Not sure I'll finish collecting Classified anytime soon.

The marine was on sale for a pretty good price on Amazon today so I ordered one on a whim has anyone popped Lady Jaye's head on that body? I've got a spare Jaye with a locked up elbow I kind of want to put on a better articulated body.

@ru1977 Only if it's not too much trouble. I think the one head could be a stand-in for Lady Jaye on its own, but a quick head swap could be cool.

@docsilence Okay.... I tried but the neck on the marine pops off WAAAAAAY easier than the head, at least on mine. Lady Jaye's neck may work, I'm not sure, only she has a bare neck and the Marine's neck has the collar of her shirt attached to it. The neck knob that plugs into the head looks a lot smaller than Lady Jaye's as well. The Marine's head may pop off easier with hot water though.

I'm sorry, I failed you.

I was trying to think of other related terms that could work as code names for a sniper

I did some browsing on sniper and Marine Corps slang and learned that Marine snipers are specifically called "scout snipers," so maybe 'Scout' could work.

I also saw a reference calling them HOG (Hunter of Gunmen). I'm not sure if that's actually a thing, but codename Hog sounds hilarious.

There are also some more generic phrases like "Downrange" or "One-Shot" that could work.

If it were me, though, I'd cash in on her specifically being a Marine sniper and call her "Scout," with her real name being something like Heather O'Gill (or H.O'G) as an in-joke.

@ru1977 Thanks for giving it a shot! I actually run into the neck vs. head thing with Mythic Legions a lot, where the neck swaps out super easily but gotta fight like hell with the head. Worst case scenario I have a generic sniper to add to thix mix with my steel brigade unnamed troops. Got her for a little more than the price of a standard figure, so worth taking a flier on her either way.

@docsilence She'd make for a decent Lady Jaye just as is. I was tempted to use her for Lady Jaye before you convinced me to get the real one, heh. Which I'm happy with. And don't forget, the Action Force version of Lady Jaye was born in Cork.

@ru1977 I had to buy more than one but I do have one good retro Lady Jaye with no funky limbs, but this figure may end up being an upgrade. And I love that her bio says she's got a lilt when the Cork accent is less of a lilt and more of a clang. (I miss it there even though I regularly almost got into fights over straight up not understanding each other while speaking the same language, Boston clatter vs. Cork clang.)
