@docsilence That's a great point about Alpine and Bazooka.

I also settled on infusing some R&G into Scar-Face. He's one of, if the, only Cobra agents to have known Cobra Commander from before Cobra was started (in my shelf canon), and he's inadvertently pulled into plots against Cobra Commander etc. Mainly by Destro. Now he is trapped in a web of corruption and deceit, when really he just wants to get out.

Also, with switching heads and such, I copied a very helpful list from hisstank of body part reuse, which helps me figure out which necks will work with which heads.

https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-toys-modern-general-discussion/521330-classified-figure-build-master-list.html

but yeah, if they could make that easier, I'd be really happy. I also wouldn't mind being able to swap vest and harnesses without wrecking my thumbs by pulling out arms. Maybe I'm doing that wrong though, heh.

For those interested, Amok Time has Nemesis Enforcer (I refuse to call him Immortal) and Zandar in stock.

I ordered both.

@ru1977 Stuff like that link make me appreciate how obsessive action figure collectors can be. I don't have spares to do much part swapping but knowing which figures share head/neck sockets and such would be helpful in every line.

I think I found my only real design flub in Classifieds lately: the memorial wrist band Leatherneck has on his right wrist should've been harder plastic or long enough you could take it off when switching hands. I nearly lost the thing three times just messing with him at my desk and put it into a ziplock instead of risking losing it (any figures who aren't on display have their gear stowed in individual bags cos my gawd Classified comes with so much cool but MICROSCOPIC accessories). It's weird that this one detail doesn't want to stay put cos all the stuff that usually won't stay put in other lines, like hats or knives, all really nest in on the figures so well I don't worry about them falling off or out on display.

@docsilence Well that's the great thing about coming together since some of us obsess in different ways, and together as a community we can get REAL nerdy about it.

I received Leatherneck and Zandar this weekend as well.

Zandar is fine. I liked his snooty head sculpt from the original toy. This one looks too complacent. The neckerchief also seems too bulky. Otherwise, a welcome addition.

If Alpine and Bazooka are ‘85’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, ‘86’s role belongs to Leatherneck and Wetsuit. Leatherneck came out great. Not as short as anticipated. His shoulders are higher than the average build, but I’d have preferred him to be Bazooka’s build. Mine also had some stray paint marks on the left side of his jaw. Aside from that, love the figure and can’t wait for his Navy SEAL rival to join him.

@normdapito Wetsuit was one of my all-time favorites. (I was one of those kids who wanted to be a marine biologist before I found out you need to do math to major in science, so all the divers were favorites, but Wetsuit was the one who stuck with me). I hope with Leatherneck in the collection, Wetsuit's around the corner. I'd be surprised if we don't see him announced some time this year.

Zandar, SAW-Viper, and Leatherneck arrived over the weekend from Pulse.

Dial-Tone is still late to the party.

I had a very detailed dream last night of a classified SHARC

it came with a super pose-able classic

deep six. 🤤

i know I know…

”I want deep six but not a sharc!”

they will make him separate. I’m certain.

A posable Deep Six would be such a score for Classified. The SHARC is small enough I wouldn't be put off by a figure plus vehicle combo there but I hope for non-vehicle collectors they make both options (maybe a retro carded version on his own).

I'm kinda skipping sea stuff, why I wanted a Shipwreck with the tactical gear and beanie, so any SEALs I get will be dressed for land missions. So, they can pack deep six with a sharc all day.

Wet suit with a devil fish, etc.

My top Marvel Legends want for 2025 is Marvel Comics Snake Eyes.  Like a Snake Eyes that looks more muscular and fits in scale with Marvel Legends, with an extra "battle damaged" maskless head.  But I'm only going to spout that nonsense here, in my safe space.

I was reading up on the lines like Operation Monster Force, Soldiers of Fortune, and Order of the Crimson Moon, and happened upon a Hisstank thread discussing those lines, but everyone had to be very careful about how they worded things for some reason because they weren't allowed to veer from the topic at hand. And I was thinking, man... I'm so glad we're allowed some segues and ramblings, along with the occasional full-on derailment here. At least for most people involved anyway.

I dunno. Life is more fun when you aren't rigid. (Said by the guy who lays strict rules on himself for collecting toys.)

Anyway, anyone here going for anything from those lines? There's a couple I like just on their own merit, and I also have a deep appreciation for the sideways Red Shadows figures. And one guy looks like someone from the Provos so... kinda want that one. Then of course there's options for blue business suit hooded CC, Crimson business suit hooded CC, or fancy dressy uniform hooded CC.

I think people were more militant about staying on topic when the boards were both more antagonistic and populated. I'd hate to see us backslide into militant policing each others' posts as long as they're polite and mostly stay on topic. I haven't seen a proper flame war here since the great crash of '23.

When was the last time we did a Classified top ten? Feels like we sort of informally do that every three months in here. Mostly cos this line is ridiculously good at actually producing figures IN our top ten lists.

@swoop716 @docsilence

I am with you guys on wanting a Deep Six and SHARC.

I wonder about the scale of a SHARC for Classified though.   I have seen some that seem to be a reasonable size and others that are way too big.   Hopefully if the Classified team every does get around to a SHARC they keep it small(ish).
