@ru1977 Found it - way back on the NES. Only six Joes featured (Duke, Snake Eyes, Blizzard, Grid-Iron, Rock n Roll, and Hawk) but a good cast of villains. Mediocre game but loved it at the time because I got to control Snake Eyes AND Rock n' Roll, two of my faves.
annnnnd now I want Blizzard in Classified and he better come with spiked shoes.
@docsilence Thank you for doing that. I totally remember Grid-Iron because even then, football made me sneer and I refused to play that character. I probably have fused it with the Wolverine game too... I probably played them around the same time. And I remember the coolest thing about that Wolverine game was the Jim Lee art on the cartridge heh.
Blizzard would be pretty cool really. I never had him, but that would certainly help Snow-Job no longer be solo.
so the newest wave is in-stock on amazon but they want $30 for them. amazon has lost their shit with this dynamic pricing nonsense. i need zandar but i'm not paying $30.
Yeah, if I were you I'd definitely hold out for November. Maybe the holidays of 2025 won't be as crazy with prices as last year, but I'm building a list of figures to watch during that period.
This is my most-anticipated figure other than Slice and Dice. I'll certainly wait out of principle because Amazon is acting like a real trash company the last six months or so, but dang, I don't know if I'm principled enough to wait 10 months to save a few bucks. Sorry if it seems like I'm being difficult, I'm so frustrated with Amazon right now. $26 MLs was one thing but now they're pricing Classified compared to scalpers? What the actual fuck, lol.
While the Mauler is the best tank, I want the MOBAT because i) I want Steeler to finish out the OG gang; ii) it's smaller than the Mauler and space is becoming a real issue.
Pulse sent notice that they shipped Leatherneck and Zandar. I feel like I remember vaguely as a kid having bought both of these figures within the same purchase. I didn't have a lot of favorites from this year. Monkey Wrench, Wetsuit, Lifeline, Iceberg, are probably the main wants I'd want from the original wave.

I don't think you're coming across that way. If he's so highly anticipated, then yeah I wouldn't wait on that. But also I'd have a hard time spending $30 even wanting him that badly, so I totally get it. Shopping at Amazon is always difficult for me because they ARE a trash company.
@normdapito yeah, looking at what I have and what I want from 1986, I realized I don't have that many either. 1985 is probably my biggest year for the good guys, 1984 being next. So I think going on from 85, I have at most four per year. Actually that stops with 89, where I just want one (Snake Eyes). So yeah, I guess the early days are my big ones.
@ru1977 The '85 crew was my start. I had a few random figures from previous years, but my collection moves forward from there. '85 is the group I have the most from also, followed probably by '87 (Falcon, Jinx, Chuckles, Law & Order were my favs, I had more I can't remember off the top of my head). But I still remember Spearhead & Max being the last Joe I bought.
@normdapito 85... honestly... is probably the best year. Joes could finally nod, sure, but they really expanded the roles and such. I appreciate the original bunch, but most of them are too uniform. yeah that's actually great for a military unit, but I guess I appreciate variety in the unit. Some great ones in 83 and 84, absolutely, but 85... I'll have a hard time not getting everyone from that year. And I had literally a couple of figures before 85, but that was the year my cousin grew out of toys and gave me all his Joe figures and the 85 guys were the 'new' ones for me. Then I went all in, got all the back issues for the comics, got lucky finding a new Storm Shadow at Toys R Us (I think he was reissued?), and got the Snow Cat etc etc.
@ru1977 I rarely got lucky finding the ones I thought were "cool" or special. I did appreciate the ones I had, like Flint, LJ, Shipwreck, Alpine, Bazooka, Airtight, Footloose. But never came across Quick Kick, Dusty or Snake Eyes. I vaguely remember passing on Spirit in favor of another figure that I probably wound up realizing was not as cool as Spirit.
Among the pre '85 figures I had were Recondo (stumbled on him at a mom & pop toy store), hand-me-down Zartan and Stormshadow (both incomplete) mailed away for Major Bludd and hooded Cobra Commander and Star Duster, who I thought was extra special because I never saw him in cross sells.
I had most '85 Cobra also - Televiper, Snow Serpent, Buzzer, Torch (never found Ripper), Tomax and Xamot. Even then, specialists to me were just that, even though I knew in the show they were one of many.
Zandar and Leatherneck shipped from EE on Jan 8 by UPS scheduled to arrive this Friday.
The Steel Corps Commander & Twilight Guard 2-pack arrived today from EE. I'm liking these two more than I thought I would.
My Amazon and Pulse orders all shipped for the Zandar wave. Saw Viper just showed up yesterday. Seems Dial tone is the only one late.
