Hey everyone. Haven't posted on here for awhile. I think the last I posted was when I got the Dragonfly Haslab in. Which is awesome. But I hadn't been buying the line for a little bit in 2024. I was trying to decide how I wanted to proceed, and what i wanted to collect.
But, I have been buying again lately, getting the Retro card figures. I always want the figures in this line to look as much like the 80's toys as possible. So, the retro carded series of Classifieds is for me.
So, I think I will only collect the Retro Card series going forward.
There have been plenty of figures in the main line that maintain the original ‘80s designs. Don’t limit yourself to just retro figures. Bazooka, Alpine, Quick Kick, Shipwreck, Torpedo, Snow Job, just off the top of my head, look pretty much identical to their original designs. There are plenty more.
I'm catching up on the Classified news, but Slice & Dice are looking great. I'm so excited for these goofy, arcade beat-'em-up level boss, Frank Miller ninjas. Give me all the Godfrey Ho vibes.
@normdapito Yeah, I was kind of thinking about that. Luckily, I have most of those. I don't have Alpine, but I have the rest. I was still getting most figures up to about that Wave with Alpine. Then I kind of stopped to reassess. But I probably will get them if they look like the toys even outside the Retro line.
I just received Alpine today, he's great fun! As long as I can remember, I've always had fun making figures climb household obstacles, going back to making Toy Biz GW Bridge into a regular tree climber, thanks to his perfectly sculpted left hand.
Those are steals. Shooter and Tunnel Rat are really superb figures. (I love that they don't phone it in on characters who aren't necessarily well known. Wolf Spider is also a really great figure if anyone is on the fence with him. I had no idea who he was and I ordered him thinking he was a new Viper variant but was psyched when I realized he's not a Viper but only the second ever GI Joe recruited from the Coast Guard. 🙂
@docsilence kinda the same for me with Wolf Spider, but since I make my own file cards I really had to delve more into his role and the pararescue aspect was something i really latched onto as well.
Also, I couldn't resist and got a second Shooter along with the NF Tunnel Rat, both to put other heads on. Too good a deal to turn down for me.
Wolf Spider was probably number 11 on my top 10, edged out by a tiny bit.
I also agree about Shooter's rifle not being great, I gave her Gnawgahyde's sniper and gave her back holster to Quarrel to hold a green valaverse rifle. Neat little gun holder.

Frag Viper Leak:
I guess this was from weeks ago but I totally missed it. Lots more various leaks at https://www.instagram.com/thefullforcepodcast/
Lacking anything else I could hook him to, Alpine ended up hitching onto the tow hook of the VAMP
Then Stretcher... Is that all of them?
@vicious7171 Is that Major Bludd a 6" retro figure, or is it a 4" figure?
On that insta link, pretty sure that's the 1:18th HIYA Toys one, so yeah 4"
