Opened up one of my Range-Vipers.  Solid figure.  It's odd the handkerchief isn't a complete loop and grabs around the neck instead of going over it.  Seems like it's something which could fall off at some point.

Recently, I've opened Grunt, Tunnel Rat, Lowlight, Snow Job, Scrap Iron, Valkryies, Range Viper, and the Trouble Bubble.  This like has just been killing it.  It seems like these releases are even better than previous figures.  Such a great line.

I agree about the backpacks.  They really messed up by not designing a better mounting system than a simple peg from the beginning.  Even if it was a square or hexagonal peg would likely have been better, if only so the backpacks don't spin or tilt.   Usually, I leave backpacks off figures but some figures like Tunnel Rat and Snow Job need them to fill out the character.

The missing backpack is also pretty glaring.  I dig the alt head but I'd trade it in a second for the missing accessories.

Grunt's pack looks a little small but fits and matches colors well.  It also loosely holds Big Ben's AR.  It does seem like they forgot that Big Ben can't store his AR on his body anywhere, considering his belt has a spot for the magazine.  I like my Grunt better without his pack so it works out on my end.

As for getting these guys to stand, I really recommend the little disc stands from Figureslab on Amazon.

I'm just realizing from all these posts that I didn't have my Range Viper's scarf!  Luckily I keep the little paper baggies bc they're cute.  It was still in there, lol.  Reminder to always cross-reference the box accessories.

I'd recommend to anyone having issues with accessories fitting that soaking them in hot water for 30seconds then rinsing/soaking in cool water will help them shape back to how they're sculpted.  I do this with every figure and haven't had an issue with overlays fitting oddly or whatever.

Relieved that Walmart did not cancel my Range Viper after all. Such an awesome figure! One of the best in the line for me. Range Viper was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, even though he always creeped me out. He just looks so evil. Perfectly recreated now with even more detail.

Got Ben and Range Viper today. Just one of each.

My nit piks for Ben are more than Range Viper. I really dislike the straight cut pivot for Ben’s biceps. They really look bad and limit range of motion with the already limited butterfly joints. It’s very difficult to get a two hand hold on the large gun. I keep twisting the stock on that gun. I guess it’s a nice thing the weapon is gummy. Articulating the ball joints for the shoulders already show stress points. The hatchet falls off the Viper backpack a bit too easy on mine.

They are both so full of detail and textures. They are striking figures.

I’m good with one Range Viper I think. I’ll add the red one from the Hiss Fire Team but I see these guys as few and far between not little squads. Maybe if they do another recolor like Orange of Range Viper I’ll get it to make a trio. But one is great for now. It’s just a striking figure.

I’m torn on which head to display for Ben. They are both cool. I’m not army building him either. I bought Valaverse Condor to team up with David. Range Viper looks a lot like one of those Space Marines from Warhammer. Great figures.

Thwipp!

I thought it was going to be a slow week for classified. especially after the last few. yesterday I got my Range Vipers  from Walmart and then today I was able to get TF Flint, PP Vypra and the Snow Serpents from Toys R US.

TF Flint is a good figure. I like the color scheme more in person and the extra weapons are nice to have even if they are reuse from Recondo.

Vypra was the one I was looking forward to the most out of the TF/PP exclusives for this year and she didn't disappoint. I never bought Akiko or the blue ninja two pack so it feels more like a new figure to me. She probably has the best color scheme out of any of the Python Patrol IMO.

Snow Serpents add another great troop builder. I do like that the deluxe figures now feel like they are worth the extra price with all the extra gear. Would have been nice if they came with their original weapons but I'm ok with it. Maybe the retro will. The Valkyries weapons are kind of small in their hands. I might give them my Cobra Officers AK's. On the plus side I did replace the tan weapons on my Valkyries.

The Range Viper is a strong contender for figure of the year for me, He's my favorite army builder now. His loadout is awesome with a lot of options for army building. His torso articulation is a huge improvement over other characters with vest. I'm really noticing the difference with TF Flint in hand. The more 90's Sci-fi joe look of the figure is a nice change up. They go well with Alley Vipers and make them seem less awkward in the collection.

Vypra does look good. Seems a perfect companion to Shadow Tracker.

The Range Viper does look good next to the orange Alley Viper.

Thwipp!

That's cool.  Do you have the DPCI and did you get the $12 price?

EDIT: A-ha, never mind about the DPCI, I did my research and there's a few options in my area.  Time for an after-work hunt.  Fingers crossed for $12.

I had a longer rant for this, but I'll just say I think Hasbro should quietly slip the hood back into production and leave it at that. I'm personally good because I have a IBMMT hooded head which is sweet.

Yeah, got the $12 price for him. DPCI is 087-26-6002. Good luck!
