Good points about the army builders. Maybe retailers don't dig the idea.
@panthercult just curious, what would you do with multiples of this figure? share the missile suits with friends? I feel like an extra to load out CI Roadblock would be cool.
Maybe arm a Cobra equivalent. Create a Cobra specialist, Arm up Meralhead, or Scrap Iron, or just outfit a general trooper.
I would love if they did a retro release along these lines:
@ru1977 I know those accessory packs were basically "so your kid lost ALL the guns from his GI Joes and won't stop freaking out? Buy this!" but I loved those packs as a kid.
I didn't hear a word about the Trench Viper set before today and saw the release while I was on the road, my eyes are garbage and I couldn't see the pics well on my phone, and... here's how much I trust this line. I was like "oh they're doing one of those playsets like the bivouac when we were kids?" Ordered it mostly blind. I mean I know I'll dig the Viper but I just couldn't see the set at all. Of course now I can see it and it looks like a fun little set, but still, basically just went on blind (literally) trust.
I don't need a gear pack, but I'd pay real money for packs of the Joe/Cobra figure stands they include with the retro figures.
@docsilence I loved them too. I was painfully rigid about keeping all my weapons, but I appreciated having extras, especially to arm some people like Tripwire or Airtight.
Those accessory packs were awesome. I still have one of the missile sets on card (the one with the green Snow Cat torpedos). I remember giving the Crimson Guard that red Scrap Iron missile launcher because it was red and I thought they matched up well.
Huh. So I was looking at Target for a gift for my nephew at 2 a.m. last night and my previous searched items showed the Tiger Paw, so I clicked just to see... and it was in stock for shipping. I ordered it just to see if it'd actually work (could not get the 25% off code to work, infuriatingly) but I thiiiiink the order went through? I'd resigned myself to just assuming I'd never get one and that was fine, but that random green text for shipping availability was such a pleasant surprise I went for it. If it actually ships I'll be surprised, but I guess the lesson is if you're still hoping to get one, check the app at 2 a.m. sometimes?
@ru1977 I had two younger brothers and we moved three times. We lost EVERY gun, sword, knife, and backpack. I reckon that's why I individually bag anyone's gear who isn't currently on display right now!
Heh, I do the same thing (which also helps with resale, if need be), but oddly I moved ever two years or so until... huh, I guess until my thirties. I have no brothers though, so I assume that helped me a lot.

Oddly, I have a similar story. I was looking at the app around midnight (which may be 2am your time for all I know) for stuff for my kids and saw my search items and clicked just to see, and was able to order one for pickup. I got a thingie just fifteen minutes ago telling me it's ready for me to come get it. I'm still very surprised by this. I also wasn't able to do the 25% off, but I did use that a few days ago to get the Marine Sniper. Which was another "I never thought I'd find one at target" situations.
Wonder if we're seeing the end result of a messy distribution incident for the Tiger Paw. Every so often Target seems to lose like, 90% of the stock of one exclusive and then someone opens a truck somewhere and is like "where did all these red action figures come from?"
I really can't stress enough how good (most) Valaverse guns and weapons are for classified. Get that big gun tin and you'll be set for a while. They're solid and not bendy, well-painted, scale well. They're not all great, some are going to look a little big, but most of them are great. I'd say I have about a quarter of my Classifieds with Valaverse guns.
The best set they ever made was the prototype weapons pack which was just a ton of guns in all-black for cheap. It's a real shame they don't still have that one available.

I do wonder - when I open the app it is just "Sold Out" everywhere. I am wondering if it's a distribution clog or snafu.
@panthercult When I logged in I actually saw a number available (3) but when I went make sure my order actually went through I got paranoid and checked the listing and they were all gone. I have also seen one (one!) Tiger Paw pop up at each of my local stores and then disappear, though I haven't been available to order for pickup so I didn't try.
