The more I look at Road Pig, the more I like him, and he was one of my least favorite 'noks in the old days. The sculpt just makes him look like someone I know, y'know? Sometimes this line falls into the uncanny valley territory of getting humans too right, and he reminds me so much of my cousin, an ex-linebacker with a heart of gold, I can't hate him. I think he might fall into the category of "if dogs like a guy, he's probably okay" like maybe he's not as sociopathic as his ganger buddies.
Although the older I get the more I think the free range lunacy of the Dreadnoks makes more sense as a philosophy versus the capitalist terrorism of Cobra, the jingoistic militarism of the Joes, or even the secret society of the ninja clans. Free riding idiots, untethered from reality. It has an appeal the closer I get to 50.
@mrboshek After snapping the foot off Sarge a few weeks back, I'm being extra careful. I may end up trying a dab of shock oil in Quarrel's shoulder joints tonight. She's useable, can hold a rifle and such just fine, but looks silly with her arms out to each side. Falcon was fine but my card CoCo was a little bit stiff in the knees and elbows, too. A little hot water fixed him so he's okay, but very stressful.
I mean Big Boa wears boxing gloves - which are specifically designed not to damage your opponent. How scary could he be, really?
I'm not a boxer, however how I was told is that since the gloves seem to provide more protection for the hitter and not the other dudes face, a boxer can put waay more force behind a punch than if they where bare knuckled since they don't have to worry about breaking their hand against somebody's jaw, so a punch from a dude as big as Boa is pretty damn scary. He's not punching to put you on your butt till the count of 10, he's trying to cause massive brain swelling.
Yea, judging by some boxer's faces I don't think the gloves are causing their punches to feel like kisses from a pillow, but even if Big Boa pummels me into jelly... He is still a schmuck. Heh heh
As an ex-boxer still dealing with vision issues from those gloves... yeah, they don't soften the blow much.
I've never been able to get Rocky Bal Big Boa out of my head whenever I think of Big Boa.
Speaking of Rocky, I wonder what ever became of that rumor of Hasbro and Stallone having a chat about finally releasing a classified Rambo.
@docsilence I never made that connection! No sarcasm. But I remember Rocky being listed as a character in the Order of Battle comics.
@spongyblue that would blow my mind. Also, how about the cast of Predator? I know they fudged some of their characters in the Pursuit line to be Predator character-ish.
@ru1977 I only made the connection like six months ago and now I can't NOT think Big Boa talks like late stage Stallone.

You have this all wrong. Boxing is the most dangerous sport on the planet. Not mma , not even bk. I don't see bk going to far, though. The reason we have these rules in boxing is because of deaths in the past. Bk most likely won't last long due to the fact of what boxing had to go through just to get where we are now, like with 8 to 10 oz gloves to 12 3 minute rounds. In the 80s, it was 15 rounds til boom boom mancini killed Kim duk koo.
are you still a fan of the sport? It's hard to find real old fans and not the new breed of fans.As an ex-boxer still dealing with vision issues from those gloves... yeah, they don't soften the blow much.

Over the weekend we had a big match. Artur beterbiev and Dmitry bivol. Bivol had his guard up when artur would come in and let off shots trying to open him up. In the process of 12 rounds of doing this, the power from arturs gloved right hand would hit bivols left glove that guarded his left side and then his guard would then smash into his face. His left eye got swollen, possibly broken left thumb. Having gloves on don't make it so you can get in the ring and take a punch nicely. It's padding for the hand to not break, and be able to throw with force. That blunt force that lands even though padded has all the power just not the sting a bare hand would give. Let Mike tyson swing at ya with 10 oz gloves on lol. Just one punch, even at his age, cuase power is the last thing to leave the body. Speed and agility is the first to go.
I always assumed Big Boa's gloves were loaded. Remember when Buggs Bunny had horse shoes hidden in his gloves? In real life, early '80s, a trainer and boxer were accused of removing padding from the gloves. The gloves were confiscated after the fight leading to a trial and later prison time. IIRC, the gloves were the only known physical evidence at the time. Not his hand wraps which were formed with plaster similar to a cast for a broken bone.
Gloves disperse the impact over a larger area so they do lessen the focal damage considerably more than bare-knuckle, but they also allow the puncher to use more power over a longer amount of time thereby causing more blunt damage.
