@vicious7171 um excuse me, that bird has a name! It’s General Ledger to you!
That bird has rank?! Damn. Chip doesn't even hold rank.
I'm in a conundrum. I have retro CoCo. Dig the chrome and bright blue and overall construction. The one feature of CoCo I've never really liked ever where his pants and short jacket. I don't know why. I really like the first release CC as it was instantly recognizable as him, and the boots and cape and longer jacket just worked better. But I don't know what to do with either of them now. I took the cape and knife harness off of v1 and put it on retro, and it works somewhat, but not totally satisfied with it. Who gets displayed? Who gets hidden in the background? Do I make them fight? Is one a LMD? Or Fred VII? Alternate outfit for a rainy day?
For my retro Cobra Commander, I gave him the pointing right hand, and I have him holding the scepter that came with Snake Supreme Cobra Commander in his left hand. I also gave him the cape from Snake Supreme Cobra Commander.
@whitehawk345 I'd love to see that if you have a pic. My SS CC is still in his box but he deserves to be opened.
@vicious7171 In fairness, some of those animal companions really do deserve billing as a character, but not all of course. Timber, Junkyard, and... what's his name Porkbelly? Bacon? Those guys all have more articulation than a lot of human figures and are bigger than at least a half-dozen Star Wars figures who have had individual boxed releases.
It still blows my mind Hasbro has the best animal companion figures in the market right now. Between Classified, the D&D monsters they released last year, and critters like Zabu in Marvel Legends they're putting the competition to shame. I do wish General Ledger and Polly got Freedom's treatment with swappable wings but I bet they're so small the risk of breakage was too high, and I'd rather have a functional single piece of plastic than a bird that breaks on me right out of the package.
@docsilence I'll give you animal companions. Classified is killing it with them right now. However I will say that Mythic Legion has really upped the game overall for animal figures. More specifically mounts. The number and variety of horses is great, but then you add in a bear and a MOOSE!!!! A MOOSE!!!! Holy hell is that thing great. And I have only seen it in person once.
I can't believe how spoiled we are for choice right now as collectors. And that doesn't even include the great personal vehicles Hasbro has released. Or what is coming up (Cobra CLAW).
Let's not forget about, imo, the best pet still to date, Fiona! I need to get around to repainting my extras, a red one and a yellow one would look amazing. Seems like such a waste we haven't gotten an official red Croc Master and Fiona, so much unique tooling for one release.
@canprime I love those Mythic Legions animals. I have the horse from the Headless Horseman and I got a moose for Father Christmas. So good. But hella pricey. That’s why Classified has the edge.
I’ve also got the bear preordered! Can’t wait!
Yeah... that Mythic Legions Bear has me drooling. Can't wait to have Vikor riding into battle on that guy... who needs a Battle Cat when you can have a freakin' bear!
@canprime Funny, I was JUST messing around with Mythic Legions mounts last night and agree, those things are works of art in terms of quality. But then again, you're playing like $85 bucks for those. (I have... too many of them, so I speak from experience.) They're releasing a bear that will most likely be epic, but is almost 100 bucks and on its back legs will be bigger than a toddler.
@panthercult That bear is going to make the Masterverse Battle Cat look like an underfed kitten, but I'd still love Masterverse to get around to making Panthor, too. Honestly, I'll buy any darn animal companion any line offers with decent articulation. I just preordered some bizarre alien bug mount from Cosmic Legions because... he's a giant rideable posable alien, why not?
To keep this Classified-specific though - yes, @vicious7171 Fiona rocks, and I am DESPERATELY awaiting the team to announce Spearhead and Max. If I get a little articulated bobcat for Classified my final Joes dream will come true.
Yeah... that Bunji is super tempting. I don't know who I'd put on it, but I keep thinking about it.
@docsilence I just added a NF Spearhead to my wishlist, along with NF Sneak Peak. But Max was why I got the old Spearhead and will be again.
@ru1977 I won't even complain one peep if they do NF Spearhead first, but I would love that absolutely hideous, coffee milk and neon orange monstrosity of a uniform from his original figure too. Who am I kidding, I'd buy him twice. Sneak Peek isn't mentioned enough as a Classified option. Loved that dude.
@panthercult I hemmed and hawed over preordering the Bunji figure for a solid week and finally was like "who am I kidding, I'll have Star Wars figures ride that, I'll have cosmic Marvel Legends ride that, I'll have time-displaced Joes ride that... it's a giant alien horse bug."
@docsilence sneak peak got on my radar just by being part of the recon team that infiltrated Coba Island during the civil war and was a part of my special missions roster from then until I stopped playing with toys.
I totally get wanting the orange version of Spearhead tho. I'm kinda excited to see how he looks in classified. Collecting this line has really satisfied something star wars and marvel has been lacking for a while for me.
