The Marine is amazing. I have three, and with the different configurations they feel like three very different characters. I like the camo and headband head the best, feels like an intense jungle commando. I’ve decided that the hat-and-glasses configuration is a marks(wo)man and the boonie hat is a sniper. Working on some code names, same for the HALO jumper. They feel like individual characters, all.

I never got Lady Jaye, and a friend assured me I would be disappointed, so I was thinking of putting the camo head on the Shooter body and using the hat head on this body as Lady Jaye, after I paint her hair.

I don't get the hate for Lady Jaye.  Sure she looks a little like Bill Hader, but she's still a sweet figure.  I can understand if you want her to look Sunbow, she's not going to do it, but that's not what this line is.  I dislike how her boots pose, she's got those shin guards that all the early figures have (disappointed to see the Marine Sniper using them too), but overall she's good.  Holds a sniper rifle cleanly like few domestic 1/12 figures can.

Should be a big week for Hasbro toys.  I ended up passing on Sniper and Road Pig in favor of Halo Jumper, but that might change if I can get those other two on a sale.  Also Retro Cobra Commander should be showing up this week.

BBTS says Raptor is arriving shortly. Got a similar notice for Road Pig a couple days ago, hoping they ship together for maximum awesomeness. 

*edit: that is also what is cool about having the “generic” 60th anniversary guys, they make fun canon fodder for the scary named Cobra guys. Like I can’t exactly have Road Pig crush Flint’s head with a mallet, but one of those Marines . . . yes.

@vicious7171 I'm completely okay with shin guards, and the face isn't a huge issue for me. I don't care so much about the cartoon as I would have gone with the hat head if I'd gotten Lady Jaye. He mostly pointed out problems with her proportions. And really, I like the Sniper figure and want to get her, but with my own personal OCD, I can't have an unnamed character on the shelf, so I found a way to make this a moderny Lady Jaye.

Road Pig has processed at BBTS!!!!

Soooo excited, he’s one of my biggest wants and I love all the creepy new additions like the skull on the shoulder and the masks! All my poor 60th guys are about to get massacred! Rawkus likes a meal of “long pig”, I’ve decided.

Didn't realize there was a bunch of Lady Jaye hate. I actually like the figure overall, but she was 100% the only figure that I got MULTIPLE duds with -- fused elbows, fused hips, just a disaster, both versions. I ended up giving up, then saw her on Amazon for seven bucks during one of the big sales and bought an extra, and somehow that was the one that wasn't partially immobilized. 

I really do find myself questioning my sanity that I kept buying Classifieds after all my early bad luck. I was SHOCKED that favorites like Retro Scarlett and Doc had fully functioning articulation after all my bad luck. 

I ended up with so many Lady Jaye figures because she went on such a deep clearance and I figured custom fodder would never be bad.  But I'll say this - I never had one with any QC problems.    I do wish some of the other ladies would hit clearance as hard so I would have more parts to mix and match...

You know I'm playing. And I don't know if it's hate so much, just preferences. If I see one for under $10, I will still grab a Jaye for sure. But I think of you every time I open a Joe now, hoping not to repeat your weird and chronically bad luck. I guess thank you for catching all the duds for the rest of us!

@ru1977 Yeah, but I mean I didn't realize people were trashing the sculpt. I never saw anyone hating on her til now. I swear I just get EVERYONE's duds. Although to be fair in my own sanity's defense, I got all those dudes in the first few waves and they've been problem-free lately. Vipers, Bats, Lady Jaye, Wave 1 Scarlet, one of the Storm Shadows, Mindbender, the first Firefly, the first Spirit, both Destros. I think Spirit was the last time I caught a dud, and Marauder Spirit and later versions of the Bats that came out were fine.

I swear, I get a kinda loosey floppy figure and I'm thrilled. Major Bludd and classic Firefly are a lil floppy but I don't care cos they'll move. 

Potential strike of east coast dock workers. Ooof. Better not mess with my stuff showing up.

@docsilence Seriously, that is some bad damned luck! At least you have a Major Bludd and Mindbender though!

@ru1977 Yeah, at least I've got them in hand. Bludd IIRC was very hard to get and Mindbender really deserves a general release. I'm surprised they've waited this long to reissue him in any format. (Same with Serpentor, TBH.)

@docsilence the only thing I knew about Bludd was he was apparently hard to get then, if I remember correctly, dorkside toys got a bunch somehow? And it somehow got Hasbro to turn on them? I can't remember the specifics of all that now. I'm sure someone does, but that was my big association with that figure, heh. And I was glad to not collect classified at the time, but now I think a retro Bludd and a Night Viper are by far my big wants. 

I got scrap iron today. I never had him as a kid and he never struck me as all that cool but something about him is really awesome to me now. I also appreciate having a character with the opposite parts of his face covered when standing alongside my troopers and Firefly etc. I got him cheap and loose without the missile launcher so I may give him the grenade launcher NF Falcon comes with.

Action Marine is now scheduled to arrive this Thursday, 10/3 - along with SAW Viper,  Retro Cobra Commander and Retro Stalker

Raptor is now set to arrive next Monday,  with Road Pig straggling in on the 18th and finally the retro Cobra troopers on the 20th.      That's a busy couple of weeks on the Joe shelf.
