@theknightdamien Yup! They had a comic book and I had a story published in it a billion years ago. Actually got the rights back and rewrote it for an anthology this year. Thought my copy of the comic issue was loooong gone though.

@ru1977 Yeah, it was a great treasure hunt - I think I've mentioned that my family had a house fire that wiped out most of my comics, so I'm shocked to have this many Joes comics left. I also found a stack of Crossgen which I have not thought about in a dog's age...

and this kind of violent silliness feels pretty in line with stuff like burying dudes alive under a volcano.

Don't forget the botulism!!

Reading through their bios last night and it's hilarious how varied the color commentary is. Breaker basically gets "he's pretty handy" but Barbecue we learn can fit a "quart Coke bottle" in his mouth and both want and don't want to hear about how he learned that and which Joes have seen the trick.

Also, they include a Bongo the Balloon Bear In Memoriam page.

I have issues 1 through around 120 or so of the original series. I stopped buying it regularly right around when I stopped buying the figures. This was right before the G2 Transformers guest-starred in the series. I only had a little over thirty issues to go so I wish I had just kept going, but oh well. The first issue I bought off the spinner rack was number 2 in 1982, but I was finally able to get the first issue at my local comic shop 20 years later for a very decent price. Which has now been over 20 years ago.

...What the fuck.

Yeah. "I own things made of paper so old it could turn to powder in my hand" was not an age I thought I'd achive, but here I am...

Pulse just gave me a heart attack - Dragonfly is getting ready to ship. But we have until October 24 to update our addresses. That's... slightly more lead time than when they say a NORMAL product is getting ready to ship.

Got Haslab email for Dragonfly shipping soon. How soon, I don’t know but we have until October 24 to make sure our address is correct.

I had the same reaction when I saw the email and then thought to myself it's pretty sad I was more fearful than excited at that moment. Probably because I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with this. I've got a month to build a hanger ...

Got the email too! I should probably get around to opening this HISS tank I've been sitting on for the last year. I've been busy, leave me alone!

Ooh... about 30 days away from watching the ebay prices on the Dragonfly exclusive figures...  I don't hold much hope of getting any of them for a reasonable price... but maybe...

It's always the figures that gets me with these things. I'll be on the fence but throw in three exclusive figures and I'm like: talk to me about this product.

Honestly, it was the figures that almost got me, too.   But I realized that I'd be spending like over $75 per exclusive figure if I ordered it - and I'd have to figure out how and where to store the giant helicopter box since I don't have the space to display the Dragonfly itself.    And while the figures are super tempting -  if I can manage to track them each down for less than $75 per figure and save myself the headache of dealing with the physical copter,  well that will be a win.

And before anyone talks to me about buying the set and selling the copter -  good luck.   No one, and I mean NO ONE will agree to pay what it would cost me to ship the Dragonfly to them.   That is a $75 or more shipping charge alone - so even if I could find someone who was willing to buy the copter for $100 -  they'd have to pay nearly $200 to actually receive it and would opt out.

And I may end up having to settle for other deco releases for Wild Bill, Rip Cord and Crazy Legs that are cheaper.   And then just forking over the aksing price for Glenda.   If that's the case,  I'll live.

I did walk past the HasLab Galactus at my local comic shop for sale for 800 bucks, but a) it was still there so nobody's bought it and b) if I wanted to keep the characters inside it wouldn't be worth that. I did tell my partner that she needs to auction off EVERYTHING I OWN if I drop dead though, put it all back in the styrofoam and and do not garage sale it. Guessing the HISS has some post mortem retail value too.
